“Food here isn’t as good as it used to be. The chicken and wild rice soup used to taste better. There’s hardly any rice. Mostly it is just cream based soup with a couple things thrown in. I’m not sure what the chunks of white stuff were. Potato maybe? The Fuji apple chicken salad was just ok. The bear claw was just ok. They didn’t have hazelnut coffee, but the decaf was good. It was freezing cold inside. We got our food quickly. The lady taking orders is super nice but too slow when there’s a crowd. People behind me got tired of waiting in line.“

While staff changes, a pandemic, and being bought by FairWave has changed the café a lot over the years, it continues to be a calm and unique atmosphere to meet for coffee or study. I've had many positive experiences with staff, and almost always received very good coffee and food. My only recent complaint is the pricing, but it's expected as prices go up everywhere.“

The "small" salad was very generous and I enjoyed a gluten-free carrot cupcake - which was phenomenal. The salad was a little hard to dig around in but was loaded with toppings. I personally would have preferred avocado instead of guac. The ingredients were fresh!

Update - Recently visited and saw the Health Department pull up. This could be good or this could be bad :-) They came out with a sack full of food, so if the Health department will eat here....

The best tenderloin sandwich I've ever had. Far from the traditional super sized tenderloin, it's 3 hamburger sized patty tenderloins. It's deep fried with a tempura batter, using vodka so that it evaporates when it hits the hot oil leaving a light and crispy batter. This process works so well that a bar in the bottoms, copied and is making sliders the same way. Make sure you get it spicy, a homemade sauce. I can also recommend the catfish, it's up there with the best I've had. You must get the tator tots too. Before Kitty's I didn't know there was a rating for tots. They are crispy on the outside and creamy hashbrown like inside. Truly amazing! I also think they change their oil on a regular basis, not trying to every last fry out of it. If you're looking for a phone number to call ahead, you won't find 1. They said too many people calling in and not picking up orders. There is a seating area outside and I've visited on 95deg days and it's comfortable under the carport canopy. Remember 2 things... Cash only and only open 9-5pm, so don't expect to get something on the way home.“

“This place is beautiful, they have the widest variety of plants I've seen personally in the KC area, and for the coffee, I know this seems like a small thing, but they actually MIX the iced latte after putting the espresso in, so when you take a sip, you're not just getting a mouthful of espresso, which I know isn't "traditional", but definitely tastes a hell of a lot better. I live in Gladstone and am tempted to make the drive every weekend to go here!!!!!!!!“

“I came here for the vegan breakfast wrap, after reading a review on it, I wanted to try it. Let me just say, probably one of the best vegan breakfast wraps I’ve had in this city, it was tasty! My mimosas was amazing, I could have had several of those. I also grabbed a cinnamon role for a friend for his belated birthday treat, they looked amazing I’ll have to get one next time I’m in. The young lady who took my order was super sweet and had a pleasant smile.

I sat at a tiny table near the entrance line by the window and it was perfect. A really great view, plenty passersby’s to watch. The restaurant was clean, I didn’t see any food on the floor and tables were clean. This location gets busy on Sunday, be prepared to wait in a line, however it’s well worth the wait!

The instructors gave verbal descriptions of the building, verbal descriptions of the art, and allowed us to touch the art with gloves. The instructors were well prepared, patient, and flexible with the needs of the clients. They even met with me ahead of time to discuss the needs of the clients.
