“I happened to find this while I was driving through Kansas City. I saw the amount of people in the restaurant and knew this must be a good place to eat. I stoped and was very happy with my choice. The food was fantastic and the service was quick and pleasant.“
“Visiting a friend at North Kansas City Hospital around lunchtime and she mentioned that she'd been here before and that she was surprised how good this little café on the hospital premises is. She raved about their chicken salad, and since I love me some chicken salad I had to check it out. It was indeed really delicious- lots of moist white meat chunks with a lovely dill sauce, not too much mayo- I hate when salads overdo the mayo- plus a great crunch from celery and big, plump, juicy red grapes. So tasty!! The atmosphere is nothing special- it is housed in a hospital after all, but it was quick and fast and that chicken salad was divine.“
“I come here frequently after getting groceries, one lady remembers me now and knows exactly what I order. I tried something new and it was delicious, I went to reorder it today and I accidentally ordered a tea instead of a latte. I did not like the tea and they made me a new drink even though it was my fault. I love this little shop! The Brown Sugar Boba Latte is my favorite. It is a small shop in downtown, so there arent a lot of places to park, which is to be expected. Good thing I walk everywhere. :)“
“Dinner for my wife's birthday. Jason our server was awesome and helped us navigate the menu and wine. Excellent, intimate venue with unique and excellent food. The Sea bass and steak were insanely tasty, NYC, Chicago, SF food and vibe.“
“If you've never been to Kitty's you need to stop reading these reviews and go right now. This is an amazing spot with a ton of history and has the best fast sandwich in KC. They don't skimp on the portion either, these are big sandwiches and they're 110% worth the money and wait.I love this spot and if you've never had it you're in for an absolute treat.“
“Got The Standard breakfast sandwich & the Sausage & egg sandwich for breakfast, took a chipotle turkey wrap to go for lunch. ABSOLUTELY delicious. all of it. 10/10 would recommend and will go out of my way to eat here again. 100% worth the money.“
“Hey Kansas City! If you were looking for breakfast, brunch, and hot coffee in Kansas City....Happy Gillis is the place to check out! This popular local breakfast gem is cute, quaint, and covered with beautiful plants. There are a few tables to sit at inside of the cafe to enjoy your meal. A lot of people will order their food to go and will take it to the nearby park to have a picnic when it is warm or they will take their meal back home to enjoy! If you order in person, there is a refillable coffee stand when you can keep your coffee cup warm and full. My favorite item to order is the class biscuits & gravy with a side of bacon. Unbelievable! There are a lot of fresh and tasty options on the Happy Gillis Cafe & Hangout menu. Stop by this little spot today!“
“Food was really good. Service was quirky and attentive. My only complaint about anything was the lighting. They have weird blue lights that (see picture) make it difficult to read the menu and see the food. I had to guess a lot about the flavors. This was on the back patio. I'll be back but I'm bringing my glasses next time.“
“The yummiest coffee in the Northland! Always quick (even with the huge lines that form) and baristas are ALWAYS in a positive mood. Never had an order wrong once, I go almost daily, and if I try something new and don’t like it they are more than happy to replace it for me.“
“The staff are amazing! I felt like I was family literally the moment I walked in, on my first visit! I highly recommend the PB Banana shake, so delicious!! The lotus mega tea was perfect for my long work shift, gave me the perfect amount of energy I needed! Will recommend and will be back again!“
“The sea salt dusted mocha chip cookie is amazing. The cappuccino was equally good. My only “complaint” is, why ask me if my order is to go or here. When I answer, “I’m going to savor the cookie and coffee here”, please don’t put the cookie in a paper bag and the coffee in a paper cup. I feel like I’ve been given a doggie bag. I am a guest in your place of business, and I’ve come in to relax, recharge and enjoy some quiet time; instead I felt rushed, drained and overwhelmed by the loud music.“
“Cute little cafe in the nursery! There is plenty of seating, as well as a section to sit in the green house surrounded by all the plants. The sparkling matcha limeade was very refreshing and made for an even better plant shopping experience.“
“service was bad, after we ate and got are ticket, waited 25 minutes for a waitress to collect are money, and we wanted to get a piece of pie, while we had 3 waitresses standing at the end of the bar having a tea party, not a one would wait on us when they were standing no further than ,3 feet away from us,so we walked out, then here they come acting like we did something wrong because no waitress's would wait on us after 25 min.and they wasn't packed, the 3 waitress"s just were just havein a conversation like they was on break! the waitress that waited on us we never seen her no more till they came and got the money from the car,she was very mean and hateful, she wouldn't let us get a word in edge wise,to explain how nobody would wait on us for 25 min or longer, couldn't even order a piece of pie,she just kept running her mouth, she wasn't no where to be found when we were read y to leave ,it was wrong on your employees part, love your food have ate there several times and have never had this kind of service before,it was very un unperfessional on and very disrespectful the way the waitress approached us,and it was there fault.you don't treat customers like this, very disappointed,at that point .and the waitress didn't smile or ever come and ask if are food was alright or if we needed any thing else, she acted as if she had a hang over.we did not deserve this kind of rudeness.“
“I went a while ago, but this place was so cute and the staff was super nice. I got the prix fixe meal which came with a drink, entree, two sides, and a dessert for $20 which was amazing. I also love that they have changing lunch specials every week, it makes the menu really unique and you always have something new to try, and I did get a special as my entree. Everything I had was so good, and I have been trying to find the time to go back.“
“My first time in, and I found it to be charming. A bright and tidy place in a more historic part of town. The baristas were sweet and fun. If you get a drip coffee and choose to enjoy on premises, you pick out your own mug and get a free refill. It was a perfect Sunday morning stop.“
“I had put this little cafe on my radar for a long time. It's the same location where Benetis coffee experience used to be. Anytime I thought about it, it was after they closed, or sometime after 3. I had wanted to try their lunch and or breakfast last week, but unfortunately they had a water main break . Today, my husband and I finally made it for breakfast and our usual (work on laptop), and I am glad we finally did show up. We both had the French toast sampler, and it was pretty good. They do serve their food on to go containers, which is fine (cuts down on trash, and washing dishes, so I consider this place very eco friendly). The drip coffee we had was pretty good. The coffee comes from Messenger, and although this is a good thing I felt that the brew was slightly on the week side, but not drastically so. The ambience is very relaxing and the music wasn't very loud, a little jazzy and groovy. Nice place to come for an intimate chat or to do some early/afternoon work.“
“This is an excellent and unique cafe serving interesting and delicious food and drinks. I tried the Spicey Mayan Mocha and it was fantastic. The combination of chili, cocoa and coffee was a new experience that elevates the classic Mocha. I also tried the Jalapeno and Cheese Tamale which was absolutely killer! Service was great and the interior was clean and welcoming.I will definitely make a return trip next time I'm in KCMO.Highly recommended!“
“We wanted to visit a local coffee shop for breakfast while we were on vacation so we found The Windmill KC and I’m so glad we did! Not only was it adorable with great breakfast and coffee but the atmosphere was incredible. The staff and locals made us feel like family while letting my 2 little girls play games and puzzles with them. I will definitely be recommending and we will definitely be back!“
“The bowls are amazing! Super super yummy! But the reason I’m writing is because I want to thank the owners for making this place look like a little piece of Costa Rica ❤️ I was born and raised in Costa Rica, for 10 years I haven’t visit my country. Today, as I walked in this place I couldn’t hold back my tears. This place is so beautiful and it reminds me so much of home ❤️ is really sooooo rare to find places like this. You made a Tica homesick but in love with this place and food. Thank you ?? ?? “
“This place is the best! I had a wellness wrap myself and literally felt so good all day. Not to mention the owner, Gigi, is so incredibly friendly. Very glad I came across this place, will definitely be recommending my friends and coming back!“
“?Excellent staff, drinks and pastries, they have delicious batch crew coffees.? The owners insist upon having three TVs behind the bar playing the *news* all day long.It conflicts with anything you might like to do in a coffee shop: Study, write, have a conversation with your friends, or just not see ads in front of your face constantly.Kinda sabotages the good work the baristas are doing.“
“I have attended a variety of poetic/open mic events here and the atmosphere is top tier. I love how this space is welcoming and it's always set up a different way each time.A perfect spot to meet some awesome people. Nestled in the heart of the city.Menu is light yet fulfilling and delicious decafe options are always available.3 words one awesome feeling:Honey Lavender LatteBlissCheck them out!! :)“
“Heads up this is on the industrial side and it could startle people but I love the location it's safe enough just don't leave your car running or unlocked and you'll be fine. Anyways THESE SANDWICHES ARE AMAZING FOR $9 AND THE FRIES ARE FANTASTIC! you're wasting your life if you don't eat this once a “
“My only complaint is literally that I didn’t come visit Midtown Kava before today. The cream soda was delicious, prices very reasonable, the staff welcoming and kind to all customers that I observed, willing and able to answer questions etc. The zen den is an absolutely enchanting place and if I could live in that room I would. Highly recommend this place to any who want to just purchase items or stick around for some relaxation. KC is lucky to have this gem.“
“Cinnamon buns, guacamole toast, biscuits and gravy, breakfast burrito were all excellent. Their iced house coffee is good as well. Knocked off a star due to limited seating and when we ordered our coffee no one told us to wait at a counter (they deliver the rest of your food), so we ended up not getting that until we finally asked. When we did ask the server she just said oh they call your name (music plays loudly inside so no way you can hear unless you're right there) and leave it at the bar for you, and then she walked off.“
“Anytime I have people visiting from out of town, and they want to have a nice meal that isn't BBQ I take them here. The food, service and ambiance are always fantastic. Their menu is so different than anything around here and sitting in the dining room feels like sitting in a French restaurant. They have a rotating chef's special, a great deal on their steak frites on Tuesdays, delicious French desserts (home made profiteroles, say WHAT?! yum. And don't even get me started on their mille feuille when that is around... absolutely fabulous). The wine selection is great, they have a non alc option that seemed interesting but I decided to go with their non alc cocktail which was delicious. Cocktail menu is solid, and they even carry my favorite beer, Duvel which is such a European staple and not always easy to find in the city.“
“Best small(er) venue in Kansas city in years - in content and atmosphere. It's only improving upon itself as well. I love the location as well - utilizing a part of this city that is underserved. Definitely one of the gems of kansas city at the moment.Vegetarian options: there is no food that i am aware of... maybe snacks / dessert / coffeeDietary restrictions: Coffee and booze - I didn't see any food - maybe some food trucks will catch on and park by it.Parking: street parking is easily found as there isn't much going on besides Farewell and Howdy in the neighborhood.Kid-friendliness: You can bring under 21 people as long as they have a parent or "guardian" with them who is of age. The sister venue / art space a few doors down "Howdy" is all-ages all the time. They have water available to all.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs of any sort and easily accessible for handicapped individuals.“
“I am so pleased with The Table's catering platters!I ordered for the first time yesterday and got the cheese and fruit platter, the hummus trio, and the mini cheesecake platter. Ordering was super simple online and the food was ready exactly on time with zero hiccups. They even helped me load it to my car in the freezing cold, and scrounged up a couple of birthday candles for me which I had forgotten to buy for the party! The food itself was delicious. The quantities are huge, so excellent value. And the presentation was Instagram-worthy. Can't wait to come in for brunch, as the shop itself is adorable and full of treasures in the retail racks. This is my new go-to place for party platters. Thank you, The Table crew!“
“Super cute!! Came here for a pop up k-pop event. First time trying Boba tea and I didn't know what to get but this one looked interesting. I'm so glad I got it because it was really good. It was kiwi flavored and lychee jelly. The jelly was good and I couldn't put it down. You order and they give u a pager to let you know when it's ready. It takes a few minutes. It was busy in there because of the event but not necessarily the ordering area. I would like to get this again or something similar“
“First time my husband I went there and the food is amazing also we from out of state and we were just passing through The state and we wanted some Jamaican food and they are everything and more than what we ask for… The drinks are affordable and strong you get lit and the food is perfectly proportions.“
“My mom and I had a fantastic experience at Cafe Reflections! The price is reasonable. Locally owned. Our server was the daughter to the owner, she was the sweetest! She helped with recommendation specific to our pallet preference. The environment is classy and fun! the music set the mood perfectly for a social meet up with friends/family. We will definitely eat here again in the future!“
“Amazingly great food that is out of this world. Definitely for the major foodie at heart. Didn’t get the baklava cause we were told kitchen was closed…. Not mad as we had dessert elsewhere but coming from an industry employee the last course in service should also be the last station to close in the kitchen. The meal itself was fantastic and everything i could have wanted which is why i was very disappointed i was able to try the dessert. Oysters were delicious, ribeye seasoned and cooked to perfection, bone marrow melts in your mouth, cauliflower that take your love for the veggie to another level. Craft cocktail menu is a true craft cocktail menu not like most other restaurants want to be craft menus.“
“What a cute spot with amazing customer service! The lady at the register was so sweet. I told her it was my first time there, so she recommended some choices. I ended up ordering the classic brioche and an iced oat milk matcha latte. Both were delicious! The coffee shop was nice and roomy too with plenty of seating. Highly recommend!“
“So my food was really slaty and it wasn't what me.and the waitress had discussed. I thought I was ordering corned beef hash and it turned out to be hauser potatoes with scrabled eggs, cheese, and some bacon. I did ask that it not come with peppers or onions but still, I was hoping for some corned beef hash.“
“I called at 3:30pm on a Thursday hoping to order 12 dozen donuts last minute for a work event the following day, everything was ready by 6:30AM Friday morning! Extremely appreciative of the willingness from staff to help me out on such short notice! 5 stars!“
“Love this location! The food is yummy, coffee is well made and service is friendly and fast. The barista, Abby, took care of us and made us feel at home. Will definitely be back to see her and have another mocha made by her! She was very knowledgeable about coffee and made great suggestions.Highly recommend this little cafe.I do want to add- I really wish they served decaf espresso. I would get a drink in the afternoons if so. I find it odd they don’t offer it!“
“I really enjoyed this restaurant. Their staff was very nice and accommodating to my family and had great portions for the price!Kid-friendliness: I would say they are accommodating to kids but the establishment gives me the feeling of more adult oriented.“
“I like First Watch but they charge more than the usual places I go so I have high standards for them. Lately they have not come close to meeting just minimal standards, but this week I had such a PLEASANT experience I thought I should say something nice. Dorothy was extra friendly and attentive. The food came out hot for a change. The gentleman at the front who I think was the manager was very pleasant and accommodating. They are still on probation with me, but I am willing to give them a few more tries to make sure this is the new norm. Ask for Dorothy--she is friendly, efficient and has some "server skills"“
“Some places make great espresso drinks. Others make great cocktails. Thou Mayest is that rare spot that manages to do both well. The staff are talented and friendly. The atmosphere is club house chill, in the best possible way. If you need to get up or chill out, make your way to Thou Mayest.“
“My kids and I stopped in here this past week. We were brought in by the quirky names of the cookies posted on the window! My oldest chose the freeze dried candy, while my youngest chose the macaroons. They were both delicious! The shop provided great viewing of the cats, and had I known I may have made a reservation to go in and spend time with the cats. I believe a reservation is $15 a person, and I'm not sure if they allow young children or not. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant.“
“I would highly recommend checking this place out.A small menu with a good variety of choices.Had the mushroom toast and hibiscus limeade tea. One of the best mushroom dishes I have ever eaten, the tea was flavorful and refreshing.Honey oats desert was fire, bought four to take home.Staff was awesome.“
“Front Range is a unique spot, on many levels. The ambience alone is so different than any other spot in KC. It's located within a quaint strip of storefronts and has a rustic feel inside. There's also outdoor seating. The menu includes both coffee drinks as well as cocktails. I love coming here during the day for coffee, but it's also such a chill spot to stop for cocktails before headed to dinner. Front Range is truly a hidden gem!“
“Just had lunch catered from Thelma's. It was AWESOME! Very well liked by the meeting attendees & Owner. Had the slider sandwich tray, Pasta Salad, Green Salad, & Cookies, of course. This is a great organization. I was glad I was able to include a non-profit in our office catering. Thank you, Thelma's staff & volunteers.“
“They're a smaller grocery store. This is convenient if you just need to stop somewhere quick to grab a few items. Their produce section is the best part of the whole store. It always looks so clean and organized. My only complaint is that a lot of things are a little pricier than other grocery stores or markets“
“Was looking for a coffee shop/place to hang out and dive deep with some friends and this was the perfect spot. They support local businesses and this where I got @teabiotics kombucha from. There’s a full bar in the back as well.Very cool spot to come and unwind.“
“I love this place! We came here on a whim after a night of drinks and it's such a quick and friendly place. We probably come here 2-3 times a month and love it every time. If you come during a busy time you will wait but not for too long. The food taste amazing and the prices are phenomenal. Be sure to ask for the sausage links!!“
“I want to live here so I can try everything on the menu…. Every amazing bite. We had incredible truffle eggs Benedict, Cuban confit pork Sandwich and zucchini corn fritter. - passionfruit curd tart. Every bite was amazing. Even the side of black beans was special. Best bacon I ever had.“
“Was in early and had a small wait due to only one person working and what seemed like a lot of orders being filled. Other than that, my tea was wonderful and very affordable due to a half off special. I will definitely be coming here again.“
“I stopped in after visiting a few galleries at The Nelson Atkins and had a quick, enjoyable latte. The cafe area has a nice view of the north side of the museum and plaza park space. The coffee is good. If you are in need of a quick cup while visiting the museum, stop in!“
“Classic Blends is such a cool vibe. I went there to get a gift for our mailman retiring. One of the owners helped us. She had great recommendations and was very knowledgeable in what would be a great choice. They even have their own brand of cigars!! The other location has live music on Fridays. Check them out!“
