Behold, they’re closed until the end of February. Was a very small faded cardboard sign on the door.
If they really cared about their customers, they’d have a big one that you could see from the street without having to park and walk um readable one .

I do notice a change in the attitude of the staff since about later 2025.

This may be because of any number of things. Around October 22 or 23 there were two bank robberies,first 1:30pm in Waldo area US bank Gregory Boulevard and Wornall Road-last one at 3:30pm a block away UMB Bank 49th & Main Street.

While the wait staff is excellent in a leisurely lunch, yet highly attentive; the sales staff are aggressive as soon as I am finished with the meal.
Even if I go to purchase a special treat not having a meal, and I want to shop. Also the price of chocolate treats were around $97.00 a pound for liquor chocolate truffles in February 2026!I don’t even look at the truffles anymore ( prices may fluctuate but I have noticed it’s unlikely prices go down).

I feel the sales staff rush customers to pay and leave.“

We’d never been to a First Watch before, but we knew to expect excellent quality food with a healthy, comforting twist; right up my alley! WOW! We were SO impressed! From our initial greeting coming into the restaurant all the way to the end of our visit, we were treated with happy smiles, incredible customer service, prompt wait times, and delicious meals. Our kids enjoyed chocolate chip pancakes with sausage and bacon. Their protein selections were unmatched with appropriately larger portions than most, enough to satisfy two growing boys! They couldn’t say enough about the flavor and quality. My husband and I tried dishes including hash potatoes, fresh market veggies, beautifully cooked eggs, and their whole grain toast - that was a treat! As someone who isn’t a fan of toast, in general, making a meal out of this whole grain toast, house-made butter and preserves would be easy to do. Lovely atmosphere, obvious camaraderie among the staff, fun culture, exceptional product! We left happy and eager to experience First Watch again very soon. “5/20/2026: I went thru here with a friend of mine cuz we was both hungry and had no money, and we wasn't wanting to steal food or do a dine and dash lol It was actually rather good for a soup kitchen and the service was great. “We visited on a Saturday morning, and our server Cathy was amazing: 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, all the things!!! That sweet lady ran from table to table to table, she even had one of 28, while other servers had a handful of tables. The host did nothing to help support Cathy. As far as we could tell, he was seating, people and once in a while clearing a table. We got seated quickly bu our wait time for drinks and food was long. No one but our server seemed to be able to fill coffee, get more silverware (why didn't the host take care of this when we were seated?). These negatives were not because our server was not capable. The food was great but management there needs to make sure that all staff is supported and that it is evident that everyone is there working toward the same goal. 5 stars for our server. Bacon cooked just the way I like it - not overdone. Over medium eggs were a little under done. Great coffee! Support staff really made the atmosphere tough.“

“FANTASTIC MUSEUM! My daughter and I are both history nuts and love this place! The staff members are very knowledgeable and are so sweet! It was my first trip and I could’ve spent 2 or 3 days in here and still wouldn’t have viewed everything. The sweetest man stopped us as we were exiting and asked us if we saw the letter of the luckiest human ever. Of course we didn’t, we had overlooked it. He took us back in and showed us a letter of a soldier who entered and exited service on the same day…just hours apart. This gentleman loved his job and it showed! We will be back, time and time again!“
