We love the convenience of ordering online and picking up our order in the store, and I meet clients there whenever possible. It's cozy, cute, and delicious, with something for everyone on the menu. He has a son that has a gluten and dairy allergy and his one request for his birthday this year was a key lime pie that he could share with his son. That was not an easy task to locate. Even though it is not something they offer on their menu, Mud Pie Bakery was willing to do a special order for a gluten free, dairy free key lime pie and I must say, we were blown away! It was delicious! The crust was delicious, the filling was tangy, and the whipped topping was sweet and balanced everything else out! Not only that, but it looked beautiful! The best part is that my boyfriend's son got to enjoy a sweet treat that the rest of the family was having and that is something that rarely happens, due to his dietary restrictions! “I’ve heard of Equal Minded in the past, but recently a friend hosted an event there and it was great! The space was easy to set up in, the coffee and snacks were great & the customer service. Since then, if I am in the area and I need to get work done, it’s becoming more of a place to pop into. The more I get to know about what they offer and the small businesses they support, the more I enjoy becoming a customer there. I also really like that they have some Sugar Free options & I really like their Honey Lavender Matcha too!“

“On our quest to find great coffee in all 50 states, we found this little shop with a cute outdoor space right on the Kansas side of the state line in KC. The coffee was great. The staff took care in each drink, even letting us know that the drip coffee was just outside of the ideal temperature range when we ordered so we could get something else if we preferred. The two people working were super friendly and helpful. We got a cup of drip coffee, the harvest smoothie, and a pumpkin drink I can't remember the name of. The smoothie was probably the best green smoothie I've ever had, and the coffee drinks were delicious.“

“This record store/ coffee shop is a rare gem. We were blown away by the selection of vinyl from all different genres. We didn't have coffee, so no review about that, but the coffee bar area looked clean and welcoming. The owner took the time to help us select a record from a local band. We're from out of town and wanted to take a gift back for a friend. He asked us a few questions and helped us make the selection. He knew a lot about the local music scene and was friendly.“

“I adore Cafe Corazon, and am genuinely shocked that I haven’t reviewed them yet.

I have held office hours at the Westport location since they opened and with years of history behind us, I can definitively say that Cafe Corazon is one of the best coffee experiences to be had in Kansas City.

I say experiences for a reason. Friends, I don’t even like coffee.

Of course, they have a stellar regular menu with great coffee drinks. Seasonal menus are inventive and I’m partial to anything Manzanita flavored in autumn because they put these little cinnamon apple crisps on top and it’s delicious. The coffee flight is fun to order with a friend but for me, the Dulce de Leche Latte, iced with extra drizzle is just *chefs kiss*. Occasionally I’ll add an extra shot if I need the jolt and it’s incredible.

Once, Alejandro saw me on my way in and started making my drink before I hit the door, so I had it in hand by the time I hit the register - which leads me to another thing Cafe Corazon does extraordinarily well. Their team is always so friendly and service-oriented. I love it!

They offer a comprehensive Yerba Mate menu, and it’s fun to overhear staff explain the history and ritual to folks who’ve never tried it before. The empanadas (made by Pan Caliente, a local Argentinian bakery) and accompanying chimichurri sauce is out of this world.

The artwork is colorful annd vibrant and I love when they decorate for holidays. They have a gorgeous ofrenda every year for Dia de los Muertos. The sense of community and Latin American culture that shows up so intentionally in every detail is just as warming as the coffee. That’s why I say experience.

Cafe Corazon has tasty coffee but it’s so much more. This location is a cozy little haven on Westport Rd. and I’m so happy to see them continue to grow and influence the KC coffee landscape.“

“We adore our neighbors at Sway! We grab a coffee here nearly every day and brew our own with their beans when they are closed. They are a brilliant addition to the neighborhood, the smell of beans roasting in an inviting place to grab a beverage and a McLain’s bakery treat.“

“We’re in town visiting for the weekend and came across Maps. We enjoyed our visit there this morning. We loved the atmosphere and the esthetic of shop. They had a great variety of drink options. We ordered the honey and Mexican lattes along with kids steamers. The honey was sweet and delicious; the Mexican was just the right amount of spice you’re looking for in a coffee and the kids steamers were the perfect temp for our girls. Our youngest liked it so much she forked out every last drop of the milk. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town visiting. 💜“
