“Whenever my job brings me to KC I make a point of going to The Hide Out. Back in the day I was being sought-after by some yellow bellies who called themselves Bounty Hunters. So I'm hiding out at The Hide Out. I saw them first and jumped down a hatch that offered a more private exit. Besides this feature the place rocks. I drink to get drunk and these guys get me home every some how. Good chow, great service, and a very elegant restroom. You know your close when you spot the burnt ruins of some trouble maker's compound.“

“We had a retirement party for my wife, the whole experience from beginning to end was beyond outstanding. Thanks to the young lady Alyia that took care of us and Adam that managed the party, the kitchen staff that made the food was awesome, a lot of compliments on it. “Awesome place! I find it just peachy. While the waits almost felt like they took 26 and a half minutes, although I know that's just my impatient self, the food they served was awesome! It smelled of warm root beer, the seats felt like fluffy towels, and best of all: they sold donuts! Ha, well, I'm just exaggerating again. I like the Bavarian Cream filled donuts.

The service was awesome. Comparing this to other restaurants is almost like comparing weasels to... I kinda lost my train of thought. It's really good, anyhow! A drink only costed about a nickel! And if you thought it couldn't get better, it's only half a block down the street!

“A group of us had lunch at Becks today. I would definitely give it a thumbs up. everyone got something different to eat from burgers, fish, Rueben and chicken fried chicken dinner and chicken fried steak. Our waitress Bea was great.!!! Would hope to get her again when I'm there.“

“Alison and I enjoyed breakfast this past Sunday at McGregor's Butcher & Bistro. While we were enjoying our breakfast sandwiches, Tom, aka Tommy the Butcher, told us we needed to try their restaurant, which is located right next to the Butcher & Deli. He mentioned that every Tuesday night, they have Burger specials. For $18, you get a burger of your choice, fries, and draft beer or, as in my case, a soda. It just so happened that we were out last night and decided to stop in. I have to say it was one of the best dining experiences we've had this year. Our server, Sarah, was excellent, helped us with tons of advice, and truly made us feel special. Alison enjoyed the Mushroom Cheeseburger, and I had the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. They were both phenomenal. The meat all comes from their own butcher shop. The burgers tasted great, and the bacon was crisp and to die for. The fries were also fantastic, especially the truffle fries. We also enjoyed an appetizer of Gralic Steak Bites, and they gave us some warm, locally made Farm To Market bread with some house-made butter that was awesome. Lastly, I want to add that the entire experience was relaxed, and you can taste the care and love they put into the dishes. With the check, they also gave us each a complimentary shortbread butter cookie that was out of this world. Alison and I would like to thank Tom and Sarah, and everyone else we interacted with at McGregor's. We look forward to visiting them again in the near future. It's truly a special small business that we wish we had discovered sooner. Sidenote: The Deli and Butcher side is open Tuesday-Sunday, 8:30 am to 3:00pm. I also look forward to trying a deli sandwich in the future. Tommy told me I have to try the Pastrami on my next visit.“

“I’m in town on a long business trip. I was looking for a bar just like this one : not a generic chain bar, small, mainly locals, pool table….this bar is awesome. Within an hour I was chatting to the very friendly local patrons and playing pool. The lady working the bar was so nice and welcoming. I’ll be back for sure before I head out of Kansas. Oh, the beers on tap are freakin’ HUGE! I didn’t eat anything, so not sure about the food menu here.“

Highly recommend the seafood dip, truffle fries, and the bayou salmon—each dish was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The Restaurant Week menu offered solid, well-curated options for a full four-course meal, making it an excellent value. If you’re lucky, the peanut butter pie might be the dessert of the day—imagine a Reese’s peanut butter cup taken to the next level. Absolutely delicious and worth every bite. Can’t wait to return!“

“Andrew and his team in the Market Grill are amazing! We came in on Saturday to feed our football team in between games and they did not disappoint! Food was fresh and tasted great. They let us spread out in the top seating area so our kids and families could sit and eat comfortably while we warmed up from the freezing rain and cold. Highly recommend them and will plan on stopping again the next time we play football nearby!“

“If you want some of the best seafood in our area and if you want the best Alfredo you’ve ever tasted in your entire life I suggest you go to seafood island. We went just last night and our service was amazing, Joe was our waiter and he was so attentive, fun, and always there to bring us a refill or see how we were enjoying our food. Now the best part, the food! We had a little wait for our food to come out which was worth waiting! I had the fried calamari and the Cajun shrimp fried rice, there had to have been over 10 huge super fresh shrimp on my plate, the portion size was so big that I have enough leftovers for another meal today. The Alfredo that my fiancé got was the most amazing plate of pasta we’ve ever had. The sauce alone was so good that I could write a review on just that! Please come try this place!
