You have to try the crab wontons—they’re a must! We just had the Tokyo crispy chicken, and it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Honestly, I haven’t had a single thing here that I didn’t love. Chris, the owner, always greets us with a warm smile, and he and his staff make you feel truly welcome every time. “I think I saw an ad for Yafa Cafe on Facebook. We are always searching for good Mediterranean food, it's hard to find in Kansas City. Seeing Kibbeh on the menu automatically moved them to the top on the list. We really enjoyed our meals and appetizers! The kibbeh was good, the spanakopia was good. All of our meals were good. I really enjoyed the creamy chicken plate. The chicken shawarma was good. Everyone liked the kabobs (chicken and beef). We will definitely be back! The owner and employees were very nice and helpful. Highly recommend!“

We both got the cheeseburger and it was delicious and a great recommendation. Asked to speak with a manager wanted to let them know about the great service and food we received. “I know this is a bold statement to make, but this restaurant’s the best Lao restaurant I’ve visited thus far in the U.S., and I’ve been to quite my fair share of them in the U.S. in these past seven years. The workers and owner here at Khop jai der noodles are very friendly and the larb nam tok siin, thum khao poon, nam khao, khua mii, Lao beef jerky, Lao sausage, Lao milk tea, red summer drink, and green summer drink are the bomb! I love that all the dishes I ordered are as authentic as how my Lao friends/family and I’d make it, have reasonable prices, and have reasonable portion sizes. A lot of Asian restaurants in the U.S. are all over the place with their spice levels, but this restaurant doesn’t play, and their “hot”/second most spiciest level, was pretty spicy for someone who can tolerate a lot of spice. It’s nice that I was made clear of this as I was ordering. Their wait times are also reasonable. I ordered a lot, not to mention that they were also taking other in-person and over-the-phone orders, but I got all my dishes in less than 30 minutes. I had a fun time talking with Auntie Mimi, the owner, and Uncle Guy, the co-owner, after my meal. Uncle Guy even offered to help me box my food and take my food to my car, but I didn’t take up his offer since I didn’t want to get in the way of other orders/customers. Lastly, I wanted to note that Auntie Mimi was very courteous on the phone when I called two days before my visit to confirm their hours. Restaurants like this one, one that offers authentic Lao dishes and isn’t afraid to label itself and its menu as Lao, are the ones I wish to succeed the most and wish there were more of in places outside of Laos. I was smiling from ear to ear seeing all kinds of customers coming in, ordering the Lao-style of dishes, and seemingly pleased with their orders. This restaurant’s only been open 16 months at the time of my visit, and I hope that it gets all the love and attention it deserves very soon! I certainly can’t wait to check it out again the next time I’m in the area and wouldn’t even mind driving from my home, three and a half hours away, just to eat here!“

“I’ve enjoyed the food from Jack Stack at various locations and for catering but going in and experiencing the customer service at the Lenexa location elevated my thoughts on the restaurant so much. Even on a busy night, Our waitress, Sara was gracious toward our big group and we never felt rushed to get-in and get-out. The wings, salmon dip and sliders were delicious. The bartenders made top notch cocktails and were also providing great service! We’d come back just for the atmosphere but the food and drinks make it even more one of our go-to places.“

It gets you out of your typical neighborhood to go try new places and when they have curated a selective menu it makes it easier to pick and choose to try new food items! This 100% needs to be on everyone’s list of places to go try! I seriously cannot say enough how amazing the food was and what’s even better it ranges from literal zero spice to insane Thai spice (I was a medium spice) trust me when I say that was plenty for me but my husband started out with a medium but he says when we go back he’s going up one more level (still not Thai level spice) just to see the difference because his red curry was delicious it just built slower for him but My chicken pad Thai was just right. Right now is the time to go try these wonderful people out with it being restaurant week to make the choices easier!“

“Date night. Great place to go. Huge selection of drinks and awesome food. I had a salad with salmon that was one of the vest salads i have ever had and my boyfriend had a bourbon burger and said it was "perfect". We had the loaded spud app and shared the pretzel dessert....the best beginning and ending we could want. Our server, Heather, was so sweet and talked us through a lot of our options. She was super attentive. We will definitely be heading back!“
