“My friend and I ate at Deano's tonight. It was my very first time eating here and Karen who was working as the Bartender took the time to introduce herself to us. She asked me if i've ever eaten here before and I said no, she responded by recommending some of the specials including the food and beverages the restaurant provides. She was dealing with a sore throat throughout the entire time but she was still able to communicate with us and show determination to help take good care of my friend and I even though she wasn't able to really talk because of her throat and she ended up leaving early. We just want to say Thank You for going above and beyond tonight! If the restaurant have any suggestions where we can write another good review or reach out and speak to the Store/General Manager please let us know! She was awesome!“

“The food is always so delicious and fresh at a reasonable price. I’ve been coming in the past few weeks to grab a to go order before work at the bar and I’ve been very impressed about the quality of food and the service. Rae or Ray not sure of the spelling has been the bartender every time I stop in and she is amazing, very prompt, friendly and you can tell she is great at what she does from the crown of regulars at her rail. For sure my new go to quick stop before work.“

“Went to Wichita for work and looked up places to eat in Wichita then NuWay came up. Upon arriving the parking lot was packed and that was a good sign. Love the counter service and had an original burger with bacon, fries, and onion rings. Onion rings were amazing! Root beer also amazing and tastes great in the hot weather! So glad I went here and the service was great and the place is nostalgic! When in Wichita this is a must!“

“My food was perfect, as was the atmosphere and service!
I didn't think pricing should be grouped with any of those, and I have one complaint about pricing. $3.99 for 4 normal-sized onion rings is ridiculous. Most of the side dishes are bottomless, but not the premium sides you pay an extra $3.99 for.
I have a separate complaint about design. All 8 people at the table thought the premium sides were also bottomless, and it wasn't until my dad asked for more onion rings that we learned the sides you pay more for cease to be bottomless.
If there is a place on the menu that informs customers that premium sides are limited to, say, four onion rings, then it needs to be more prominent.

I'm still giving a 4 star score, because I don't think these two complaints should cost 2 entire stars. I found everything else about our visit to be wonderful, and the serving staff are the best.“

“We have been going to Dempsey‘s pretty much once a week for more than 10 years. The service has always been spectacular (Reggie is a legend!), but the food … is usually great, but sometimes there are weeks where the quality tanks. My mother always asks for a well done burger (please forgive her) and it came out medium rare tonight, even though our server has her requests memorized perfectly and I’m certain he put her order in correctly. The fries were at their best a number of years ago. Since then the quality has gone up and down. Tonight they were pretty much inedible - they looked under cooked, but were as hard and dry as four day old fries reheated in an air fryer set at 150. Ugh. We will continue our decade long tradition with hope that there will be a renewed focus on the food quality!“

“John what are the supervisors was extraordinarily friendly and helpful and absolutely made my visit wonderful. I was so welcomed and the steak burger was absolutely fantastic and I also enjoyed the fries and they did it without salt because I can't have anything but sea salt. It was a great meal. But it was John that made it wonderful.“

“We had dinner at this restaurant last night, and it was our second time there. Dinner was great! I chose the salad bar as an alternative side, and it was awesome. I probably ate a little too much at the salad bar and didn’t leave myself much room for my meal.

We all enjoyed our meals and had plenty of leftovers. The meats were moist and tasted fresh, and the salad bar was fresh and delicious as well.

The restaurant is a little out of our normal way, so we don’t think about eating there often, but we definitely should go more often. The restaurant was far from full when we were there.

I also noticed that they offer a Sunday brunch, which we may try soon!“

Harry has a horrible employee that works at night🙄 so rude and ghetto. we literally waited at the speaker for 20min trying to get someone to take our order , so finally we decided to just go up to the window assuming maybe the speaker didn't work. However when we approached the window and told the lady working we had been sitting there for awhile trying to give out order and no one spoke, the lady at the windows reply was " I heard y'all say hold on " 😑 I said we never got to say anything cause no one ever even greeted us. Her with a whole attitude told us " I can take your order but y'all gone have to park in the front and it will be awhile before your food is ready" . I just worked all day and wasted my time sitting at a place for 30min just for me to get rude service and no food. of course at that point we just left because who wants to give there hard earned money to a place with terrible employees. Honestly that was not the first time I have dealt with that same lady and her unfriendly attitude but after this last time wasting my time I have decided to say something because if you don't like your job then just quit girl, or how bout put her on the grill instead of at the window cause clearly her bad attitude is not good customer service. I love me some Bionic Burger but unfortunately that's the closest one to me so I'll have to refrain from going.“

“bar and kitchen is immaculate from what it used to be and the staff is pretty awesome they treat me and my friend very well always very friendly food is great the atmosphere is your classic bar and the drinks are great! 👍🍸🍺 🥃 pool tables and shuffle board are in nice shape and a great addition for friends and there's always some people around to play with 🎱 if you like to gamble there's some kiosks in there also seems like the staff likes to mix it up playing different music for everybody's taste you never know what you'll get great bar good times and the staff makes me feel safe if somebody gets out of hand“

“Freddy Simon was an American hero and a local Kansas treasure. It's remarkable how fast Freddy's franchises have spread across the country. That said, it's not my favorite, but it's more about my personal preferences rather the quality. Some folks love smash burgers, I prefer thicker burgers. Some love the thin shoestring fries, I find them more difficult to eat, especially when on the go. Despite this, I still stop by occasionally and I'm never disappointed by the quality of the meal. The custard is always delicious and some of the seasonal concretes are exceptional. That's good enough that I will continue to patronize this great locally founded place.“

“First time here, food was fresh and affordable. It is a great place for a very filling meal for not a lot of money. The food was really good given simplicity of the menu. It is comfort food to the max, really don't need anything else or anything flashy.“

“Spangles food is delicious and it was great seeing Rene at the register taking our breakfast order at the N. Rock location Thursday morning (4/10/25). She is very nice and upbeat with a great demeanor. It's always great to see family operator-members visiting their businesses. I ordered the Oooey Gooey Pancakes and they were hot and very good but I just ordered plain, no drizzle or fruit/candy toppings, and they were still good. I'm hoping they'll add blueberry compote to the lineup at some point. I also wish Spangles would bring back their chili cheese fries.“

“Good local taco spot. Fresh tortillas, solid carne asada, and tasty salsa. Portions were decent for the price and service was quick. The space is casual and clean enough. A couple of items were a bit salty, but overall a reliable quick Mexican option. Would stop by again.“
