“My mother, my daughter and I attended the Princess Tea Party event and it was amazing. The atmosphere was full of laughter, excitement and shyness from the audience as everyone met those in character as prince and princesses. Before the train ride, there were multiple stations to entertain kids of all ages including a crown decoration station, a face painting station, a photo op station, the gift shop that had many princess accessories options and the bar that had themed alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for purchase.
The train ride was smooth as we rode through country and city. The tables were decorated like a tea party should with cups ready for tea and water. A 3 course meal was served: a charcuterie board and a lunch all before a dessert tower of treats to eat before getting off the train. During the whole train ride, there were 4 different princesses that greeted each of the attendees, posing for photos and having a personalized conversation with each person. It was truly magical. I foresee us going again soon.
My only regret was that the lunch special was not as exciting as I was hoping it was going to be, but the experience we had with the lovely staff and the princesses helped compensate the lack of flavor in the food, which was none of the workers’ fault. (I had to put into consideration that the train ride itself was maybe an hour and a half maximum so crazy fancy meals were not going to be expected.)
Will recommend for others! We hope to try the Polar Express train experience soon.
Parking: We got there early enough to get close parking, but the whole parking lot wasn’t large to where you would be walking a long time to the door. Parking seemed a little close together, but if you’re considerate about space, you won’t hit other cars getting out.
Kid-friendliness: There is a gift shop available for all kids to look at souvenirs while adults look for souvenirs too. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for you to gain access to the train depot building where there is hardwood floor inside.“

“Never been to Bardstown before, but suggested to eat here for lunch at one of the shops. I'm so glad we did! The inside is cozy with cute decor and a beautiful emarld couch at the table near the door. The service was fast and the food was out quickly. We ate the lunch special, and it was delicious! We did have to ask for a refill on our drinks, but I was impressed with small town Cafe. We will most certainly be back for more. ?“

“This place is a joke! We got here in time for breakfast, the girl that check us in said 15-20 mins. got seated at 11:45 and couldn't order breakfast (everything says breakfast until noon). I told them no pickle on my plate, chicken sandwich comes out with a pickle on my plate. I tore the sandwich up so I would know I had one that hasn't touched the pickle (I'm allergic!). The waiter comes back and says they can take the pickle off my plate but can't remake it. I asked for a manager and she came out and got smart and said it is in the fryer now, and said the waiter is only 17, it doesn't matter how old the waiter is, it's not that hard to not put a flipping pickle on someone's plate when they tell you NO pickle. and to the own you need a better attitude to your customers when it's your staffs fault the order isn't correct.“

“Huddle House in Bardstown is a cozy diner that feels like home. The all-day breakfast and hearty burgers are delicious and super affordable. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at ease. If you’re looking for a satisfying meal in a casual setting, this place is definitely worth checking out!“
“This review covers both the bourbon company and the restaurant from the point of view of a first time visitor. However, this is the 19th distillery my husband and I have visited, so we are not new to bourbon.
When you pull into the parking lot, it’s obvious this is a modern distillery. The grounds are well manicured and the glass front rickhouse draws visitors’ attention. We were greeted promptly when we entered and visited the gift shop to purchase a lapel pin as is tradition for us in every distillery we visit. The clerk never stopped talking to her coworker or looked at us while we completed the purchase. There is a tasting bar near the entrance where they sell half ounce pours. We took advantage of getting a flight of 3 collaboration pours and it was well worth the $25 as each bottle represented retails for $150 or more.
Thankfully, the Core Four tour was a great experience. The tour starts with the tasting which is different from other distilleries. We sampled Bardstown 4 origin products before visiting other areas. The tour requires the use of stairs and one room we visited was 109 degrees but we were only there a few minutes. Our tour guide Amber was very knowledgeable and did a great job. The tour ended with thieving from an experimental barrel which was a nice surprise and had wonderful flavor. Our guide compared the thieved tasting to Green River full proof.
After the tour, we decided to stay for lunch. Buyer Beware - if you want to sample a pour, get it from the bar near the entrance. In the restaurant, you get a much larger pour for 4x the price. My husband got a smashed burger and fries and I got a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. The food was very good and the fries were similar to fair fries and delicious, but these meals were overpriced for what they were.
We ended up purchasing the Stave Finish bourbon, which is a distillery only bottle. We enjoyed the afternoon at Bardstown and overall recommend you stop here during your visit to the Bourbon Trail. Cheers!“

“The food and bread are amazing. I know people say restaurants have great food and all, but let me put it this way…after a few bites, my non-social media husband asked me “how do I post a review on Yelp?” We will definitely be back.“

“Amazing food! Spoony is one of the best guys in the world. His hospitality towards his guest is unparalleled. And don’t even get me started about the fried chicken! The “Colonel” over at “the old spinning bucket” has been put on notice! Thanks again, my friend & see ya’ soon.“

“This is, without a doubt, my favorite Captain D's. The food is hot and delicious, and the portions are generous. The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is kept clean (unlike others I've visited). Although I live in Louisville, I'll drive to Bardstown any day for the best! Highly recommended!“
“We ate at the Old Talbot Tavern restaurant on a Sunday night in June. The customers were a mix of tourists and locals. We had burgers which were very good and cocktails. Both were good, but not change your life good. Drinks were small but appropriately priced. We would go back but maybe not my first choice.“

“One of the best steakhouses I've ever been to. My ribeye was cooked perfectly, but the atmosphere and the service was impeccable. I'm traveling without my family right now, so I just sat at the bar, but hands down it was the best bartender and best service that I've had in a long time. I wish we had places like this in Indiana.“

“Our meal came out, and the southwest egg rolls were undercooked. Our server took them back right away and had new ones made for us. Then, the floor supervisor came to our table and apologized and adjusted our bill for us. Everyone was super nice. I would definitely go back.“

“We spent three days in Louisville/Bardstown and The Bar at Willet was the best place of the whole trip. This is in no small part to our excellent bartender Luciano. We split a few different items on the menu but definitely get the egg salad sandwich. They have a few different fancy food items but they are all approachable and tasty. On top of the great bourbon flight recommendations, Luciano was incredibly knowledgeable in regards to spirits in general, and made what our group agreed was the best Manhattan any of us has ever had.
Definitely book ahead - they were turning people away at the door.“
