“Came here on a Saturday night for a proper grown-up dinner with friends visiting from out of town, and the place absolutely came through. The pressure was on me to find somewhere that would show off the area while still being a comfortable setting for proper conversation, and this venue threaded that needle beautifully. From the warm welcome at the door, everything was handled with care. They'd given us a great table that was quiet enough for proper chatting but still part of the room's atmosphere. Our server was lovely throughout — warm and engaged without ever interrupting our conversation, with menu suggestions that turned out to be brilliant. The food was honestly excellent. Each course was beautifully cooked and generously portioned, with proper flavours and considered presentation that never tipped into being precious. My friends, who eat out in some genuinely impressive places back home, were properly impressed — which is harder to achieve than it should be. We worked through a long, slow evening with plenty of wine and a couple of shared desserts at the end. The pacing was textbook throughout. The bill at the end was very fair given everything. Both my friends have texted since to say it was their highlight of the trip. Properly satisfying result.“
