Chocolate Mousse

“I went here on a Friday night around 6:45 with a party of three. I was able to immediately get a table, and I noticed the place started to fill up shortly after 7:00. This place is so cute! I really loved the ambiance, and the attention to details with the decor is amazing. It was a clean facility (including the bathrooms), and there was ample parking around back (you do have to pay, however). As for the service, I was pleased with the attentiveness. There was one point where the gap in service was a little longer, but it was a time where a bunch of people had just walked in. I was accidentally charged for food that was meant to be split with my party, and I didn't notice until I had already paid (my mistake obvi), but the server refunded it and only charged me for my two drinks instead. It was so kind! I am currently not drinking, but my friends ordered the Sangria and the Cosmopolitan. They said both were amazing! I order the non-alcoholic beverage called One Week, and it was delicious! I would recommend that more non-alcoholic options are added (I was told they only have alternative tequila, and I think alternative whiskey would be a great add). We also ordered the Kentucky Queso, Roasted Garlic Hummus, and Double Dark Chocolate Mousse. The queso was to die for, and the mousse was so rich! I will say the hummus was underwhelming as I expected it to have a stronger taste of garlic. Overall, I really enjoyed our time here! I would definitely recommend to others, and will likely take others here!“

“Gralehaus rivals any eatery you might encounter in New York or Chicago. I wandered in on a partly cloudy Monday afternoon in March. First was the Maca Mocha. It had a nice cocoa flavor without being bitter or overly sweet. About fifteen minutes later the Ugly Frittata arrived at my table. The crème fraîche added a sumptuousness to the fluffy eggs so that the edges didn't feel overly dry, while the veggies on top provided an occasional crunch and a tanginess that really expanded the flavor of the dish. The picture I took doesn't adequately depict the outsized egg entree. It rests inside a shallow bowl, about ten inches across, making it one of the more filling options on the menu. Thankfully, the frittata holds its heat for a long time, allowing you to slow down and savor. It's the perfect meat-free option for one very hungry person or for two lightly fed people looking to share. At ten minutes to closing time and in defiance of my satiety, I approached the cashier and requested a slice of their Best Damn Coffee Cake. And since every coffee cake deserves a good coffee, I added a nitro cold brew to my order. The cold brew came to the table almost instantly, followed a few minutes later by the cake. I started to snap a picture, unconcerned with the sensory experience at hand, when a waft of warm cinnamon hit my nose, a reminder to pause and relish the moment. The cake is creamy and spongy at the same time, thanks to a gooey layer of brown sugar and cinnamon resting directly beneath the crunchy topping. It pairs well with the delicate effervescence of the nitro cold brew. All told my dining experience lasted an hour and fifteen minutes (the staff graciously allowed me to stay past closing time to finish my repast). My advice: save your visit to gralehaus for when you have to time to slow down and savor the experience. The warm atmosphere and made-to-order dishes beg an extra few, crucial moments of your day.“

“We stopped by after an early bird Valentines Day. The staff was so welcoming and lovely. The decor is great and matches us perfectly; he loves bourbon, I likes wine. The game corner with cozy couches was a great place to unwind. The 6 flights were a great option to sample the extensive wine list at a super reasonable price. We are so sorry to have slept on this gem for so long. They hold several events, tastings and socials. Looking forward to adding to our regular rotation and checking out the calendar!“

“Just driving through town and looking for a place to eat and drink while in Louisville. Found this nice brewery serving some pretty good pizza too. They also have a full bar and domestic bottle beers as well, but I came in for a local craft brew. I tried the Commonwealth Ale (Kentucky Common) and the C4 Stout. Both were really good and cold and fairly inexpensive. For dinner I tried an individual pizza and an order of garlic toast. The Brewmaster pizza was filled with meat and perfect for a single person. The garlic toast had two big pieces and was served with chunky marinara and an awesome garlic butter sauce. The garlic butter was so good, I got a side for my pizza as well. The only issue I had was the very slow service while I was trying to get sat down. I stood waiting for a table for 10 minutes before I finally just walked to the bar and sat myself. All in all, it was great visit. Just gotta work on the service.“
