The Hungry Pelican Reviews
Great place 10 out of 10 I would try this place it's really good!
A great hometown restaurant, the fish is the best you can get, great salads, I love the fact that they have a lot of side dishes as well!
The Hungry Pelican is my favorite place to get a white fish sandwich in Louisville. I also highly reccomend their grilled shrimp and scallops, fried clams, and yummy fried cauliflower (that creamy horseradish sauce mmmmhmm). I highly reccomend trying stopping by, you will not be disappointed!

The Hungry Pelican is a seafood lover's paradise, offering a wide variety of fish dishes that are freshly cooked to perfection. The restaurant's friendly staff provides excellent service, ensuring that orders are fulfilled quickly and efficiently. The menu boasts an impressive selection of seafood options, including baby fried shrimp, snowfish platter, fried fish, fried shrimp, and more. The food is consistently delicious, and the prices are fair considering the generous portions. While the building may appear dated, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service make up for it. Customers often praise the clean and nicely decorated space, especially during the holidays. The service for carry-out is also highly appreciated, with staff being kind and helpful. The atmosphere inside feels like walking into a family’s home for dinner, making it a comfortable place to dine in or carry out. Many visitors enjoy the mouth-watering seafood dishes and recommend trying the cheesecake. Despite some occasional service inconsistencies, the overall experience at The Hungry Pelican remains positive, with its long-standing reputation for good food and friendly service since the 1950s.
