The Mac and cheese we had as a side was very soupy. And the sauce on the chicken parm lacked flavor and tasted like it was out of a can. The atmosphere was good until the live music started. We were seated right in front of the stage, and once the music started we tried to get through our meal so we could leave.“

“We always are served well at The River House. We had the November special dinner and it was perfectly prepared. Nice steak, beautiful lobster tail and potatoes and asparagus were almost more than I could eat. But the salad and dessert were the perfect way to start and end my meal. My husband tried the scallops and shrimp pasta and it was all he was hoping for. We love dining at the River House because it always makes our special celebrations 100times better.“

Hubby had the cod and fried oysters and declared the oysters were the best he ever had. My shrimp basket was loaded with huge shrimp and the Cajun fries were very good. We topped that great meal off with complimentary slices of strawberry and chocolate cheesecakes for our anniversary! We will definitely be back!“

Personally, I order the Fish and Clams when I go, you dont have to order that but you're also entitled to have a wrong opinion of the best thing to eat, Perfect place for a 3rd date, would willingly fight a goose in the parking lot to get inside if I had to, inside its exactly what you would expect... old people taking up all the tables like some sort of early dinner club, I believe I was the only person not wearing geriatric tennis shoes out of all of my visits there. I feel like the restaurant is slightly misleading because they dont actually have whale on the menu, it seems like basic white fish, the same as the old people inside (basic and white). Overall have went, have returned and Lord willing will return again.“

We ordered a nice bottle of wine, but our server never returned to refill our glasses. A French fry order was forgotten, and when we asked about it, things seemed to unravel. The server was visibly exasperated. A supervisor eventually stepped in, handled things professionally, and assigned a new server—but by then the mood had shifted. This wasn’t just any lunch—it was a farewell meal with a dear friend leaving town, and I’d hoped for a flawless experience. At over $230, I expected more attentive service. I don’t share this lightly. Connors has been a place we’ve enjoyed many times. But this visit left me disappointed, and I won’t be returning anytime soon.
