“My wife and I were visiting Versailles for her birthday and wanted to find a great local coffee shop experience, and The Amsden was exactly what we were looking for. Located right in the heart of downtown Versailles inside a beautifully restored historic building, it truly feels like one of the local hotspots where the community gathers each morning.

The coffee was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the outdoor patio right on Main Street was the perfect place to sit, relax, and enjoy a cup of coffee together. It has that authentic small-town Kentucky charm that’s hard to find anymore.

If you’re visiting the Versailles area, exploring Kentucky bourbon country, or just looking for a great local coffee shop with character, great drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere, I would highly recommend The Amsden. Definitely one of the coolest coffee spots in Central Kentucky. Highly recommend!“

I’m going to leave my original review below just because it reflects how things used to be. Since the new girl has taken over as manager everything has gone downhill! Honestly if it wasn’t for my daughter wanting a certain drink I would not go there at all. Wish they could train her how to have a personality. She sounds so sad, and dry. It makes me really want to ask her if she is ok…
Just to gives little perspective, I am in there EVERY morning about the same time, they know me by my voice and call me by name most of the time. The other day they were out of whatever it is to make the dunkalattes 🤷 so the old manager who stepped down for some reason made a recommendation, it was good, a couple days later I asked for it again and this time it was the new manager she figured it out and came up with something and again it was good (so my daughter says). This morning I get there and by the way I was greeted I could tell she was in a great mood. All I caught on her introduction at the drive thru was Dunkin and I asked her to make the drink she made the other day. She just replied with “I didnt make it” then silence. I said ok and ordered her regular drink she gets and went on. But damn like I said with the sound in her voice I want to ask her who hurt her and maybe offer a hug or something… oh well just wanted to share and give everyone a heads up. Don’t expect to hear that typical cheerful good morning when you’re in there anymore unless the old manager is working or one of the others is running the drive through. Oh well hope this helps 🤷

This place is simply the best! The friendliness of the staff is unmatched! They always seem to go above and beyond every single time! I don’t think I have ever been to this location and had a bad experience! Everybody has off days, but these guys just seem to get it every time! I mean, they were open on Christmas Day and everyone was just happy go lucky today. They are open on New Year’s Day and it’s the same thing everybody there is just happy to go. Lucky make you feel good for even stopping there! We will always go to this location. Today the person that helped us was.Kylin She was awesome, smiling just honestly seemed happy to be at work, which is very unusual, especially for this day and age. And the other little blind hit a girl that was making our drinks and food too. This morning was just happy to be at work. it seems like and that’s incredible to see as a customer. Great job guys keep up the good work everyone at the store that I’ve encountered in the morning shift has been incredible and all of you Deserve some type of kudos and to be recognized.“

“After hearing strong recommendations, unfortunately I visited this restaurant at lunchtime on a Friday as I was leaving town for a 400 mile drive. The restaurant was crowded, and I had to wait for about four parties in front of me to order. The cashier was funny and engaging. She assured me that the wait for carryout would be brief. She was wrong. I waited for my order at least 20 minutes, maybe half an hour, and I was definitely in the restaurant for 40 minutes. I had almost finished my matcha iced latte before my food arrived. I was waiting at a small coffee table in the middle of the restaurant. When I stood to leave and was edging out between the loveseat and the table, my foot caught on one leg of the table and I nearly fell. However, my barbecue sandwich was fantastic once I received it.“

“Everything I’ve gotten from Andy’s is genuinely amazing. From their croissants to their sourdough, they have never disappointed. And a friendly and welcoming staff to compliment such delicious baked goods makes this place worth stopping if you’re in Frankfort. PS give whomever came up with the Matcha Croissant a raise, it is insanely good!“

“We stopped today after my son's first eye exam because he wanted his favorite donuts. Vivian taking our order was fantastic. She was super sweet and patient with my kids. She let them pick out exactly which donut the kids wanted and was so nice to my son. As someone in sales, she did a great job upselling asking if I wanted cold foam. Hope she gets some recognition for how great of an employee she is!“
