“Stella Maris is one of the best spots in the parish. They have a large menu that fuses flavors of the Mediterranean to accommodate all tastes and diets. My favorite is their gyro plate with hummus that is enough food for an entree that it can be shared or enjoyed again with leftovers. In addition to the restaurant, they have a grocery store with all sorts of tea, coffee, candies, and other items from the region plus a hookah lounge. “Such a long over due review!! I have been coming here for YEARS. And it's just as much for the coffee as it is the people. I literally even stopped drinking coffee (didn't last long) and still came for the daily dose of friendly faces, goofy jokes and good energy. It's a place on earth where I feel like even if it's for 5 minutes I matter..... even when I make weird requests (😅) There's so much more here than goood coffee and yummy food! love y'all!!”

“I grew up in the Parish and Ben's was a top contender in the lunch and or dinner time line up. Their pizza is good, the muffaletta is good, my all time favorite is the potato poboy with gravy on the side.

We work in New Orleans East and made the trip for a group lunch time order. I haven't eaten from there in years and let me tell ya they did not disappoint. The food was just as I remember it. Quality, delicious, they got us in and out. The hospitality was on point. Thank y'all for doing what y'all do best. Keep up the great work A+”

“Bob Boudreau and I were in NOLA for 9 nights. Three of the nights we had reservations at other places with family. Our 1st night we looked up and found Jewel of the South. We loved it so much. we asked our nephew, his medical school advisor and his wife to join us. All three lived in NOLA and had never been here. All 5 of us would definitely go back in a heart beat.
