Always happy n polite, I don't think we've ever not received the famous hi welcome to waffle house greeting as we're always greeted with a smile n inviting presence as her station is always good clean, u know for a waffle house lol Even while TWICE last week the poor lady was left alone to be both the cook n the waitress, when usually her daughter waits on us but 2 days in a row noone, now don't get me wrong she absolutely killed it, she always does. But even when left doing it alone still she gonna be doing her thing!!”

“I work EMS and have difficulty getting food or service at most fast food places because our ambulance doesn’t fit in the drive through and I work nights when the lobbies are closed. This Wendy’s is always open when I come and they are great at accommodating us. Food is always fresh and good. The guys who work at night are always so sweet.”

“In a street with a ton of options, this was a great place to stumble upon. Amazing ambience with even better cocktails. The fried saltines with the ceviche was a good combo. They also had a specialty shot for the beginning of Mardi Gras!”

“Bob Boudreau and I were in NOLA for 9 nights. Three of the nights we had reservations at other places with family. Our 1st night we looked up and found Jewel of the South. We loved it so much. we asked our nephew, his medical school advisor and his wife to join us. All three lived in NOLA and had never been here. All 5 of us would definitely go back in a heart beat. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great staff. GREAT ALL AROUND! FIVE STARS for Jewel of the South.”

“Stayed here from October 10th-14th (2025). Everything was amazing from the staff to the food, and also the Carousel Bar. Be sure to hit the rooftop pool and bar while you are there. Only a block from Bourbon Street and right in the middle of everything. Super easy to find when you are walking the city. The classic rooftop sign is something like 300 feet wide. You can read it from miles away. Has a very 1930s eras feel to it, and the place was immaculate. 10/10”
