“I've been through and around Lafayette for all my life and never heard of Antonio's. This place hands down WINS BIG. It is a local place not in the normal populous vicinity of Lafayette that most people go to. From the very start, thinking we were underdressed, we were welcomed in and seated immediately even though we had no reservation. It was a wonderful experience. Our staff waitress Makaia C was polite with great recommendations. We started with a Caprese that was absolutely blissful. The bread basket and butter spread had such great flavor and baked soft. I was torn between the veal scallopene or the roasted quail, Makaia recommended the quail and it was fabulous. The serving size was spot on. My wife was on the fence between eggplant parmesan and shrimp and pesto lasagna, again Makaia for the win. She explained the major differences between the two dishes and my wife decided against the very rich lasagna for the night and was more than impressed with the eggplant. It was not dripping with sauce but crusted perfectly with a wonderful seasoning mix. The attention to our needs was never in question and service was absolutely excellent. The owner stop by to check on us and was a delight to talk to you. If you have never been to this place you must try it. We will be back to try other dishes.“

“Small place in a strip mall. Independently owned with huge portions and delicious food. My mom and I shared a shrimp po' boy and Muffalatta baskets. Both were good. Ask if you can get a little extra olive relish if you want to only taste it. I thought it was perfect but my mom thought she'd have liked a bit more of the relish. My husband got a large catfish platter and was almost embarrassed about how many pieces he got. Sharing it for 2 people would still leave 3 or 4 pieces each. My dad got the fried pork chop and he loved it. He doesn’t have much appetite and we have to push him to eat. But he ate a whole huge pork chop and has one for tonight, too. He didn't need any encouragement to eat it. It was really good.

Enjoyed talking to the owner and ger husband is the cook. It was one of those small places that people discover great food. Zero ambiance, but who needs that when your meal is simply prepared and fills you with good flavors?“

“This was our first time eating at Pamplona and they were doing their annual Halloween theme. The atmosphere was cool with spooky decorations and costumed staff. There was a special themed cocktail menu as well. We had the ciabatta, marinated olives, jamon, hanger steak, and Mac and Gouda. All of the food and drinks were good and service was excellent.“

“Such a different place these days. An absolute 180 since Berry owned this place. I haven't been to Artmosphere in years because of it, but I can honestly say that the whole place now is a vibe. The new owner is obviously putting his entire heart and soul to not only the establishment but also to customer service and concern.

“We went to Mel’s on Johnston St. this past Saturday. It was busier than usual but there was a visiting football team and their supporters in town. The crowd was loud, but everyone seemed happy. “My husband and I travel to southern Louisiana the first weekend in May every year to partake in the crawfish festival. As a result, we like to dine at as many local establishments as possible and we always try to give an elaborate, detailed review. Let me preface this by saying I come from a family that owned a restaurant for 24 years and I have high standards. Since we come to town for crawfish, that is usually the first thing on the menu. It is not my favorite, but my husband loves it. So he ordered the crawfish(platter I think) which was a couple pounds with corn and potatoes. We were offered regular or spicy. Right here is where things get different. We eat a LOT of crawfish down here and we do our own crawfish boils. You can choose “spicy” and obtain that by leaving them in the pot for a few extra minutes to soak up the seasonings and they will be “spicy”. However, there are a few places that try to obtain the “spicy” by adding a powdered heat to it after they have been removed from the pot. If you like that way, that’s fine. We do not. We find that all it does is get all over your hands and face and really doesn’t add very much flavor to the meat at all. Each to their own. On the flip side. The crawfish were cooked and presented well and they were priced right. I had fried catfish. This too presented its own problems since it was brought on a basket, but I didn’t receive any napkins, a plate, or a fork. I did go and ask for them and received all of them. I realize that most people are ok to eat certain things with their hands, but I am a nurse by trade and I know what is lurking around on people’s hands. There will never be a day when I will eat anything with my hands. On the flip side. The catfish was phenomenal!! It was seasoned to perfection! Cooked exquisitely well and served hot! On a scale of 1-10. I’d give them a 7.5. It was good. The things they did good, they did really good.“
