“Overall not quite as good as it was when managed by the Rogers but the fish was as good as ever. Shrimp and hushpuppies were good. Oysters were ok but should be freshly cooked just before serving. Stuffed potato was average and luke warm. Salad bar was sparce, no soup but fresh. Tartar sauce was great! Service was awesome!“

“I was looking forward to dining at Lakewood after not visiting for seven years. This time, I was excited to bring my family along as we were celebrating a birthday. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing, with the best part being the time spent with my family rather than the meal itself. We arrived at 6:20 PM, but our food didn't arrive until 8:20 PM. The service was severely lacking, which was evident from the start. They were out of boiled shrimp, and later, there was a mix-up with our orders, further delaying our meal. By the time our food finally arrived, I requested it be packed in to-go boxes due to the extended wait. Our server, who seemed to be the only one working, handed us our food and apologized for the delay, adding that a tip had already been included. Unfortunately, the food itself was far from satisfactory. My party remarked that the fish tasted as if it had been reheated in a microwave, and the shrimp was extremely unappetizing. The only positive feedback was that the steak was decent. To add to the disorganization, our server had to return to our table because she forgot what we had ordered and needed to make a ticketand stated an automatic gratuity is added. Due to the poor service, it's clear that we will not be returning. The overall experience was very disappointing.“

“Was directed to the restaurant by Nate at the front desk of the Holiday Inn Express. Had a bowl of red beans and rice and a to go order of bread pudding. The food was as good as anywhere that I've had and I have had that meal in myriad locations countless times. The aptly named and convivial Belle served me with attentive expediency and cordiality. While somewhat elevated in price for such plebian fare I was nonetheless pleased overall. Reccomended.“
