“This place is an amazing pizza joint! When I saw that they make a pizza based on one of my favorite sandwiches, the muffuletta, I had to order one immediately! With pepperoni, salami, Canadian bacon, and olive salad, they perfectly captured the flavors of that savory Louisiana sandwich. I was so impressed. The delicious pizza dough stood up well to the array of toppings. There was no sogginess or limpness to the dough at all. The dough had the perfect chew.“
“This place was GREAT! It's different than what I have ever experienced. Sicilian and Creole? Alright. Pleasantly surprising lunch spot. You have to stand in line to order and pay, then they bring you the food. Don't let this deter you. They give you HUGE portions. Try the mac and cheese with red gravy (a lovely marinara) - it's brilliant! The gumbo was PACKED with shrimp, have never seen anything like it gumbo-wise. Ate leftovers from lunch twice! YUM!“
“We arrived on a Thursday night about an hour before close and didn’t have to wait for a table, even though the staff were clearly handling a bustling front of house. Our server was helpful in selecting wine and we absolutely LOVED the roasted carrots and cornmeal brioche with caramelized onion butter. I’m drooling just thinking about these small plates.Oh yea, the pizza was some of the best wood fired pies I’ve had in awhile, both in restaurant and as late night leftovers the next night.Although the food and vibes seemed upscale, the casual attire and kindness of the staff made it feel warm and welcoming.“
“We came for dinner as a family of four adults. We were seated outdoors which was really beautiful. Our waiter, Hunter was fantastic offering suggestions and great tips for first time visitors to NOLA. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Would recommend.Vegetarian of our party were vegetarian. Our waiter suggested a vegetable plate which was really nice! We also had the ravioli which were good but not great.“
“Sophia what a great restaurant. My husband had the fungi pizza which was lovely with the caramelized onions. I had the fresh market fish in its wonderful sauce. Best food we have had here in NOLA in 3 days.Vegetarian options: Pizza and pasta“
“Incredible food. Most dishes are appropriately small so it encourages sharing and a family-style approach. Pizzas are really something else and the pastas are to die for. Really great choices in wines, and although the price tags arent low, it is worth it.“
“Great food! My wife and I recently visited New Orleans and rode the trolley cars around. When we got hungry we got off and walked here. It has a cool local feel and is much quieter than downtown NOLA. The shrimp remoulade was an awesome appetizer! We also enjoyed the Creole shrimp and the fried softshell crab. Prices were pretty reasonable as well. We had a great time! Definitely recommend!“
“Pizza Delicious truly lived up to its name, it was a yummy! We had a fantastic time seated outside, where the ambiance was just perfect. My son was particularly enchanted by a rooster that roams around, whom I believe is named Hanes. As for the pizza, it was delicious! We'll definitely be back!“
“My colleagues (5 of us) and I had a great meal here. We came by on a Sunday night at 8pm and we were able to sit immediately. The Jungle Bird cocktail was delicious, as were the pizzas we tried. The dough was perfectly chewy and charred. We had a lemon dessert that was delicious The hazelnut dessert stole the show, so creamy and rich.“
“We found this place on the internet, wnating some NOLA-style sausage and wanting to escape the culinary tedium that often accomanies a jaunt in the Quarter. We delighted with our find! The owners, the friendly Vaucresson family, shared stories of their three generation production and serving of sausages, such as crawfish (it's great!), green onion, chicken, and, my favorite, spicy creole. By the way, the boudin balls and onion rings were darned good too. The new deli and sausage factory is obviously new, so the place is sparkling clean and bright. Yes, we took two pounds of plister pack sausages home to Atlanta, to remember our fun discovery.Parking: Free.“
“Tony Mandina's has been around for a long time. There is a reason for it. It is still a friendly family owned restaurant. Any restaurant with the owner's sitting at the table in the front with a welcoming smile and under their watchful eye is has great chance of being great.“
“Serving as one of the only known Halal pizza joints I know of in the area, this spot serves a meat lovers with a beef pepperoni, beef sausage, and more! Super fire pizza and worth the drive from BR each time. Place not much to look at being off Bourbon but the staff is super friendly. If you are looking to do a quick grab and go I would order ahead so it's ready by the time you get there.“
“Amazing food. Had their cannolli and it was freshly made and tested heavenly. Wait time for getting the food was a little long (20 minutes after ordering), but that's the only thing we can complain about really. They do have some vegetarian options.“
“BRICK OVEN PIZZA! I know it says wood fired, but when I searched for “brick oven pizza” in NO, nothing popped up. Absolutely AMAZING seafood pizza. Cannot recommend enough. Would have bought another but had no viable way of getting it back to Dallas. As you can see I ate 1/2 of it before realizing I should take a pic to post. Our waitress Stacy? was very accommodating (as well the chef) as my wife has crazy food allergies and she was able to eat all of her without breaking out. Definitely returning next time I’m in NOLA.“
“First of all the food was insanely good. The pasta was so fresh and the texture was giving handmade in the restaurant with that firm chewiness. I had the Black Pepper Fettucine with the Puttanesca. It actually packed a decent kick and the taste was really good as well. All the ingredients came through in the sauce and it tasted amazing and wasn’t a huge ding on the wallet. Most pleasant part of the night was the worker overhearing it being one of our party’s birthdays. They surprised us with a cute complimentary cannoli which was so thoughtful and kind. The decor inside is also so cute and nerdy/film buff coded. I had a blast at my time at Arabella and I will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: Flexible build your own pasta makes it easy to do veggie only!“
“Today with my daughter for the first time I visited this restaurant in my neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products that are produced in this restaurant by the owner himself and many other workers to prepare to go orders. The quality of the food is Supreme, and the prices are extremely affordable, I could even say cheap.“
“Very busy, put our name on the list, took about half an hour for two of us to get a table, when the food came out you realised why it was so busy fantastic food, great service, and a reasonable price. I thoroughly recommend this place to anyone visiting the French quarter of New Orleans.“
“The service staff was excellent from when we walked in all the way through getting to our car. Food was top notch and delicious especially the BBQ Shrimp. Was very impressed with the bread pudding as well. Overall one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Will 100% come back.“
“We were fortunate to get a recommendation to this hidden gem on Frenchman from a local artist. There is literally about ten tables, and they don't take reservations, so I it's recommended to get there when they open. For an appetizer, we ordered the mussels. They were delicious! For entrees, we had the steak special with Ocean Sauce (creole based) and the Veal Ocean (veal, crabmeat, crawfish, and capers) in a croele sauce ---literally couldn't stop eating it! Did not order dessert, but observing from other nearby tables, it looked outstanding! It was one of the top meals we had while visiting! Highly recommend!“
“We had the pleasure of eating here this past Monday and it was divine!!! The service, food, cocktails and employees all embodied a very similar vibe that was an extension of the hotel and restaurant itself!! We eagerly await our next visit!!!“
“Our story begins in the year of 1964 amidst a bustling family grocery business known as “Fiorella’s Fine Foods.”The store owner Anthony Fiorella would rise before the break of dawn to go to the French Market to buy the freshest of produce for his customers, while his son C J and his daughter in law Carolyn managed orders and stocked shelves. In 1977, tragedy struck with the sudden passing of Anthony Fiorella, leading C J to take up the responsibility of procuring produce.During C J’s routine coffee stop at the French Market, fate intervened. The restaurant owner relinquished the place for health reasons, unexpectedly offering it to C.J.On May 3, 1985, Fiorellas Cafe came to life. After years near the French Market, C.J. sold the business in 1999.Fast forward to 2016, and a revival unfolded as "The Original Fiorellas’ Cafe" on Franklin Ave opened its doors.C J passing in 2023 leaving his sons Kelly and Calcie to continue the Fiorella’s family tradition of quality dining with friendly service. The Original Fiorellas Cafe offers a delightful dining experience that combines efficiency with indulgence.Upon arrival, you'll find a seamless ordering process at the counter, where you're promptly greeted by friendly staff. After placing your order, you're given a number and directed to your chosen table, where you can relax and anticipate the culinary delights to come. Now, let's get right to the star of the show: the muffuletta. Prepare yourself for a flavor explosion, as the generous proportions of cold cuts nestled between slices of high-quality, freshly baked bread are sure to leave you satisfied. The olive salad, with its homemade taste and perfect balance of flavors, adds a delightful touch to each bite. And speaking of the bread, there's a good chance it was made in-house, given its unmistakably fresh taste and texture.Every element of Fiorellas Cafe’s muffuletta comes together in perfect harmony, with flavors that complement each other flawlessly.By the time you finish your meal, you'll find yourself not just full, but contented, with memories of a dining experience that exceeded expectations.“
“I ordered the bbq chicken pizza with no bacon and it was delicious! My second time ordering it. The wings were very crispy even though some had the sauce on them. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was good and will definitely try more foods next time.“
“First time at the new location and it was great. There were 6 of us and the orders were taken quickly, the food came out quickly, and the service was on point. We had a fried shrimp platter, 2 shrimp poboys, a roast beef poboy, a hot sausage poboy, lasagna and an order of onion rings. All were spectacular! I usually go to the one in Terrytown but would definitely go to this one again.“
“Wonderful pasta dishes. And very cool concept of "build your own". We'll be back to get sauce as take out. What we actually had was the "lasagna". Not really lasagna but wide papardelle with sauce, sausage, and cheese. Yummy. And the lemon shrimp linguini, not strongly flavored but good. The only strange thing was the staff vibe; competent and professional, but cool to the point of cold. It's NOLA, people smile here yall:-)“
“We wandered here to find a bite to eat as my colleagues and I are in the area for a sustainability conference. We tried to get into a sports bar but it was packed. Luckily I walked by here and saw it on my way to the hotel where the conference will be. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, it was really delicious, it came with 6 pieces of perfectly toasted bread that wasn't too heavy. My colleagues got side ceasars, looked really good. Nice portions. We ordered a large classic pizza, with a pesto tortellini to share, it was all really well done. Delicious, hot, and we never needed anything because our server was on top of it. We had someone else helping run food as well, Both were excellent. I have a sneaking suspicion we may be back because all of the food at this conference is vegan. Sorry I took no photos, but when the food came out it was so damn good. Support small businesses!“
“We made reservations in advance for a group of 20 and prearranged a set family meal. The restaurant handled the group magnificently. There were printed menus of our preordered family meal on the table at each spot to let everyone know what was coming. Our server was great and he kept the table clean and turned plates and silverware over with each course. We really appreciate the restaurant taking us and for making a special evening for our group. We had kids, vegetarians and picky eaters in the group and we were able to choose items that worked for everyone! Thank you!Kid-friendliness: We had 9 kids and 11 adults and we were able to choose items that worked for all involved.“
“My family and I love, love, love to eat here. Feels like family! Our server is always nice and helpful, and always get our orders correct. The serving portions are excellent. Pricing is a bit high, but it's made up for by service, cleanliness, and the amount of food. Plus, the bathrooms are always available.“
“Not the most mind-blowing pizza I’ve had but it’s a refreshing change of pace from the chaos of Bourbon Street. This is the baseline place you go to when you’re all partied out and just need a good, classic and affordable slice of pizza. Great, friendly place to be and you can tell the food is made with love.“
“Good food, was cooked good and ready on time. Always had good service here. Sometimes people have to be patient this is not Walmart or popeyes. It is freshly cooked food restaurant alot of people order from here. Highly recommend this restaurant.“
“visited the covington location. staff was friendly as could be food was really good restaurant was extremely clean and food was moderately priced. Job well done folks. Hats off to Gustavo , Cedricka.L and the entire staff. We will be returning to this location soon.“
“The new location on barataria is beautiful! The food is delicious as always and the staff is always friendly and smiling. I love everything on the menu, but some of my favorites are, of course, the Mew Orleans Muffaletta, Shrimp Poboy, roast beef on muffaletta bread, eggplant sticks, and the fried mushrooms. You can't go wrong with anything!“
“We are forever customers! Not only is the food amazing and the staff top notch, East of Italy goes out of their way to accommodate guest. We wanted to book a party and they went above and beyond to make it happen. Our son’s celebration was everything and more. We haven’t had a meal we didn’t like. The food is always fresh and ANY type of bread from here is heaven sent! I“
“My family and I walked in for lunch right when a storm was coming through earlier this week. The staff was very helpful and friendly in accommodating us and my son who has special needs. During the duration of our meal, the weather took a turn for the worse; they carried on, had a plan, all team up to work together, went into immediate action to care for not only us but also their staff and restaurant without missing a beat in service. All was well and safe. Also, hands down some of the best fried green tomatoes and gumbo I’ve had in a long time!“
“Pizza was really good, but the service was SO slow. They were nice, but it took nearly 10 minutes for someone to ask me what I want at lunch when the restaurant was only half-full. By the time my food came out, I had to take it go because I had to go back to work.“
“I ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich. The bread was delicious, and the chicken was well seasoned. The only small issue I had was the sauce was a lil sweeter than I expected, and a lil more cheese was needed. I would order again though. Tasty!“
“Christina was THE BEST!!!! She took excellent care of my daughter and her friends and matched their sassy energy with smiles, patience and awesome service. She even remembered one of the girls AND her order from the last time she served her. Wow! The girls really enjoyed making their own pizza. Christina made great menu suggestions for the adults including the roasted eggplant and the Santa Margaritas which we loved! We will be back soon.Kid-friendliness: A table full of 11yr old girls can be a challenge but Christina made it look easy. She was patient, friendly and made sure everyone was taken care of.“
“Came here for a pool day during the week! The place was super clean and tanning chairs were comfy! They have lounge chairs or day beds for rent. The pool was a little small but clean. Bartender was awesome, super nice and speedy making drinks. Bathrooms were air conditioned and clean!! Drinks were priceyyyy so bring your wallet lol but they were strong and tasty. I would come back!“
“I was in the area and I saw they had calzones. I stop in and got a cheese, pepperoni and jalapenos. Before I left the csr offered me the ranch jalapeno. It was pretty good. Good thinking on offering the other selection. I will add that toy next order.“
“This place has the BEST tamales I’ve ever had. I live in Mississippi and drive an hour and a half just to get a couple dozen. They can’t be beat. They’re spicy, savory, juicy, omg my mouth is watering just thinking about them. If this location doesn’t have them, the other one will!! Try them!!!!!“
“Just want to thank the staff over at Italian Barrel. . We had a party of 12 last night and needed last minute reservations for dinner. Called around noon and they were about to get us a table at the time we needed. Awesome service and even better food! Thank you so much for accommodating us!“
“After a bit of research we found this wonderful restaurant we had visited a couple years ago to have the opportunity to eat their Muffuletta Calzone. It is huge and crispy and gooey and crunchy and absolutely delicious.Skip the news playing over the last booth on the lefts heads maybe.“
