“I love this little place, it is tucked away off of the Westbank Expressway in Jefferson Parish. The cook makes the best food! The bartender makes great drinks and it is a nice place to hang out late at night with locals. Pool tables and darts, with a nice sized bar. There is a nice sized lot for parking.“
“Insanely good pub grub with an amazing selection of beer. If you want something not on tap, then ask for their reserve list for the fancy bottles in the fridge. For those visiting and driving an EV there is a free charge point charger two blocks away near a park.“
“Intimate setting. Plenty of quality starters/snacks including crawfish beignets and fries. I got the Romaine salad with chicken and didn't love it. My date for a vegetarian option which she loved. Good ambiance, hip, cool & friendly servers“
“I thoroughly enjoy my experiences at Cooter Brown's Tavern. During my recent visit – not my first – I indulged in their delicious fried oysters, which were simply outstanding. Additionally, their fried fish and cheese fries surpassed my expectations. The service was prompt and welcoming, contributing to the establishment's laid-back atmosphere. Undoubtedly, Cooter Brown's Tavern ranks among my favorite spots in New Orleans.“
“Cozy ambience with a unique, delicious drink menu. They also offer their kitchen to local food businesses, and the Asian fusion one there when I went was phenomenal. Donavin makes a wonderful drink called “Thank You for Being a Friend” with Louisiana run, almond, passionfruit, and smoky amaro – must try! I was in town for the Home + Garden Show, and Barrel Proof was the perfect unwind!“
“During our visit to New Orleans for the French Quarter Festival, the city was buzzing with energy. Every street, park, and corner had its own lineup of bands, creating a vibrant atmosphere. We stumbled upon Fritzel's, a charming bar with an incredible lineup of bands showcasing their talent. The bar was lively, and the quality of the sound system was top-notch, enhancing our experience. The staff was friendly and not overly pushy about ordering drinks. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up returning three times during our four-day stay. It's definitely a must-visit spot!“
“An unassuming Irish pub in the heart of everything. This place feels like a regulars kinda spot with a friendly bartender and traditional songs being sung. There's a pool table if you're looking to hang for a while and of course a pint of Guinness or Smithwicks available. It's refreshing to pop into this dive after being in some of the more touristy places.“
“How have I driven past this dive bar 1,000,000 times and not known the gloriousness held within?? We stumbled in for a drink while waiting on a Ride-Share. It was during carnival and we had to wait for a couple of drinks worth of time. I am so glad to have discovered this funky place to play pool and grab a great priced drink.“
“There are a few bars where you can get absinthe and absinthe cocktails in the French Quarter. For some reason, this is the one I keep coming back to. This is a small bar located on-surprise!-Pirates Alley, right next to the former house of William Faulkner, which is now a bookstore. I get the Absente (see pic for absinthe selections), and once prepared, it's delicious-very mild, smooth, and leaves you with a happy buzz. Bar is cash only. There's an ATM on premises.“
“The best uptown bar. No, don't tell me about Mae's or Bon Temp or whatever. This is a real bar with video poker, cheap drinks, a patio and food on Sundays for the game. Come check it out, or don't, I don't care. We'll be here drinking and hanging out anyway.“
“Located in Mid-City, The Holy Ground Irish Pub is celebrated for its unique offerings. The atmosphere adopts a laid-back charm, enticing patrons to explore a diverse selection of over 30 high-end whiskeys and bourbons. The one we are selecting from the Holy Grounds selections is Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey.“
“I'm now a huge fan of Algiers and it's all because of the Crown & Anchor.Hop the ferry, see New Orleans from the water for a buck and then have a pint or two. Great atmosphere. Chill vibe for an afternoon in the sun where you can still hear the cheers from across the river.“
“Neighborhood bar *+ pool table + nice outdoor space + good food & reasonably priced? = hidden gem with great parking!Vegetarian options: A surprising bit of vegetarian options for a small local dive bar: veggie burger, veggie stir fry, hummus & chips, ‘all good things’ hummus plate.“
“Excellent service (they have buzzers! I don’t need to listen for my name in a crowded bar!) and tasty food. In addition to bar time bites, their food travels well (due to some thoughtful packaging, bread isn’t stacked atop meat, etc) and I am able to grab stuff on my lunch break. A welcome addition to Mid-City!“
“Very friendly staff and regular patrons. Alway greeted with a smile or handshake by all. Mature crowd of welcoming regulars and great drinks priced just right. Cozy atmosphere. Plenty of pools to be played during football season. One of my favorites right along with the Zulu Club.“
“FIVE STARS! Pepp's is great place! Bartenders and the owner are all friendly and welcoming. There are always dogs to pet. We really enjoy the excellent drinks and bourbon selection, but it's really a no-frills neighborhood bar, so we usually have a beer and a shot. It's one of favorite places in all of NO, and we try to visit at least once each time we come down. Though it’s a locals bar and we are definitely tourists, we have never been treated as outsiders, not once, not even for a moment. The warm, familiar welcome from staff and regulars is the best! Just a great place, all around. Try the Malort. It's awful, but it's a great experience. Say hello to Pepper when you visit!“
“My husband goes to Julies almost every day after work for 2 hours. I go with him sometimes. The bar tender SHANNON it a good bartender, welcoming committee and keeps going from one of the bar to the out her. By the time she makes drinks or beer around the bar, it's time to start over again. She laughs with customers while working for other drinks.“
“Food ALWAYS hits!!I've had almost every burger and every chicken sandwich and every salad..Favorites repeats were the hot chicken sandwich and Cobb salad pictured here.Bartenders all friendly, I only have 30 minutes for lunch so I like to call ahead so it will be ready but if you come at an off peak time you should be golden.“
“I lived down the street from Ale for three years and absolutely loved the place. The setup is perfect. I describe it to my friends as "A casual bar on one side with great beers on tap, and then a nice wine/cocktail bar on the other side, connected by a patio between the two." They have something for everyone at Ale or Wine, no matter what you drink. They also have one of the best burgers in the city and you can quote me on that.I love going to Ale to watch a Pelicans games on one of their many TVs, and they open early for Tulane and LSU games sometimes too. The staff is very friendly and provide great service. Also the bathrooms are always clean. There are all sorts of people that come to Ale, whether they are locals, couples on a casual first date, a local business having a staff party, or a group of friends grabbing a drink before a show at the Maple Leaf.“
“My wife and my father-in-law popped in for a cold one on a whim, and it turned out to be well worth it. It was like we had been there a hundred times, and we were treated like old regulars. Six beers in we decided we'd better move on, as we'd already made plans for the evening. It would have been very easy to just make a day of it there though.“
“If you ever need a beer, a really good cold beer, come to @bulldog_midcity, you will be pleased. I had the Blackened Voodoo one, a smooth and yummy black beer. Thanks to my French @meetup I found this really cool, great atmosphere and fun place. Merci beaucoup #TheBulldogMidCity for a beautiful night under the stars. #MidCity #NOLA #Beer #Relax #Friendship #French #UnaOrocoveñaEnNewOrleans #UnaBoricuaEnLouisiana“
“We ordered jambalaya and pepperoni pizza for the table, and maybe we were just having a really fun night, but it was really good! I didn't expect to enjoy the food as much as I did. The atmosphere was also really chill and comfortable.“
“Nice outdoor patio and good vibes with big TVs to watch sports games! Easy to find in the Garden District of NOLA! We stopped by this little gem on a weekend trip to NOLA and loved their selection of beers! We didn't order any food so cannot comment on that, but the atmosphere was very pleasant and service was relatively fast! Many people were outside on the patio enjoying beers and watching a game on their TV. I would recommend stopping by for a drink or two!“
“Definitely has a neighborhood bar vibe, tucked away in the French Quarter. You know it has a good burger when the local service industry folks go there, after a shift to grab a burger. Service was super friendly, there were 5 of us stopping for a quick lunch. Seating at the bar and ordering at the bar, pretty easy rules to follow. Burgers were good and a great price for coming with fries. 2 of us ordered peanut butter, with a $1 up charge so it would have been nice to have a good smear of peanut butter verses a light coating on the bun. This is an annual trip for us, so next year we will definitely stop back again.“
“Best bar in Metairie! What’s not to love? Plenty of beer, booze, and rockin tunes! Not to mention the cast of characters that frequent this joint! Saints games are a must here whether you’re a lifelong Who Dat or a recent Saints convert. Big screen TVs, drink specials, free shots when the Saints score a touchdown, and plenty of BBQ made fresh! My home away from home! So many memories here. Nothin but love for Pat’s Pub!“
“By far the very best Monday evening entertainment you'll ever find for states! My kind of music and cocktail variety! My face is still sore from smiling and laughing the entire time! The warm and friendly atmosphere is unmeasurable!I believe I'll be sitting in one of the bar stools again tonight!“
“Love this spot great eats and good vibes all around. Be sure to visit when Omar is working he’s the best bartender/cook! I got a great taste of home with the fried okra and meat pies which I’d been craving since I touched down at the airport. The decor is very New Orleans core and gives a relaxed vibe also a great spot to catch a game with their back patio which is very spacious. They also have an assortment of games both for those who like to gamble or who like to test friendships with classics like uno, connect 4 and many others. And of course you can’t beat the prices.“
“After a great NOLA day we ended up at Howling Wolf for beer, Mrs. Wheat’s crayfish pies & a comedy show that was so much better than it had any right to be. There were almost as many performers (5) as audience members (6). The show started a bit late because they waited for our food to be ready so we could join them. Very good-hearted & personal comedy, and only $5. We laughed for reals and enjoyed each one thoroughly.Tip your artists, cooks & bartenders! They work hard and are super nice at Howling Wolf.“
“HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. FIRST TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS AND IF IT WAS BASED OFF THIS VISIT, WE WOULD'VE LEFT. BARTENDER PLAYING ON HER PHONE WHILE SOCIALIZING, DIDN'T TAKE OUR ORDER, WE EVEN LOOKED AT HER FOR AWHILE MAKING EYE CONTACT, IT WAS OBVIOUS WE WERE READY TO ORDER, SO WE LEFT. NOT TO MENTION, PLACE WAS A DIVE. METAL CHAIRS, MOST WERE BROKEN, YOU GET THE HINT......“
“This place was such a vibe. Found it by accident out shopping and needed a restroom. The vibes were definitely here, during the day and late at night. We went twice on our weekend stay in the city. The shots are affordable, and the food was actually good for it to be a “
“Always delicious. The onion rings are outstanding. I had the fried shrimp wrap slathered in Buffalo sauce. It was fantastic. Depending on the day, be sure to bring long sleeves in this place. It's quite cold. Hey, that's not necessarily a bad thing. ;)“
