“Always enjoy stopping here. The location is easy to get to and surrounded by the beauty of the river and several cool places to go nearby. The service is always friendly and they seem to run on christian beliefs. The building is clean and quaint. The food is good and the soft serve ice cream (especially chocolate dipped) is a fun treat!“
“I went to get a take out po boy. I had a seat to wait in. But the wait was no time at all. The sandwich was so long, my husband and I split it. It was stuffed with delicious fried fish. The wait was terrific. The food was terrific and the service was very good. I definitely would go backThank you for all the good service.“
“Very good fried shrimp and fish. Several TV's if you are interested. Not a loud place. Very good turtle cheesecake! Service was good, not great. Apparently she had several tables. But I do recommend and would go back again without hesitation.“
“Went here last weekend and it did not disappoint. We got two of the roast beef's. One was a bun and one was a po-boy. They were toasted which was nice. Now I got a half and I think somebody got a 1 or 2 inches of my half, so it was a little small for me. But would not go back because of that,,,,no I am just going to order a whole because that is what I should have done from the beginning. This a good solid roast beef,,,,,,, beware it is messy. I wished I could give you a photo but it disappeared that quick.“
“You want to start your day at The Crazy Pig in Mandeville and ask for Liz. She will change your life and the food will too. You see, humans go into restaurants in all types of moods and really you never know what you're gonna get on either side of the table. Consistency in attitude and happiness is important in this industry, even on really hard days. Liz has waited on us several times and she is absolute DisneyWorld. You will get excellent food and great service and it's inevitable you'll become a regular. So go on, have yourself a good day and start it in Mandeville at The Crazy Pig!!!!“
“I’ve been hearing about this eatery for years from family. Today I happened to be in the area and was taken to Mattina Bella, translation, beautiful morning. The restaurant seats around 85 people in a cozy but spacious and comfortable setting. It’s a classy environment. We were greeted immediately and pleasantly and seated quickly. However I can imagine an opportunity for a conversation during a wait on the weekend. The charming waitress got our drink order but was watchful and could read when we were ready to order. She was able to answer any questions we had and her descriptions were articulate and accurate. The wait time gave us sufficient time to have a leisurely chat and not feel rushed. The Blue Crab Eggs Benedict was absolutely the best I’ve ever had. I’ve worked in seventeen countries and never had a hollandaise sauce as light and heavenly creamy as this. The chunks of jumbo lump crab were very fresh and were well paired with the mushrooms and the eggs were perfectly prepared. They have a kids menu, allow service dogs, don’t allow smoking, and don’t take reservations. The staff was a clear compliment to the food. This was more than a meal, it was a delightful experience. I will return every opportunity I get but fear those opportunities will never be enough! Thanks to my son for taking me here.“
“It's always a treat to dine at one of Pat's restaurants. I've been a patron for over 40 years, and I've never been disappointed. Pat hires excellent people, then trains the heck out of them. His chefs are top-of-the-line, and the food is as good as it gets. If you haven't eaten at one of Pat Gallagher's restaurants, you're missing an outstanding dining experience.“
“Absolutely delicious! Huge servings and great prices. This will definitely be my new go to for pho. Was very busy when we went but the wait times for food to be brought out was still very good. Bubble tea was great. It wasn’t overly sweet which I appreciated.“
“Everything on the menu looks so good!!! And the dish I decided on was phenomenal! They accomodated our large party with ease and all of the staff were terrific! Hands down a diamond in the rough amongst many a small genuine louisiana restaurants. portion was appropriate, just enough to leave my belly full and my wallet. FYI large parties have gratituity included, not mentioned on a sign or the receipt we received, although I'm sure it was a simple mistake, we had the sign here receipt but not the itemized one listing the automatic gratuity. Totally fine but my husband almost tipped twice on accident lol“
“Chef does a fantastic job! Party of 6, everything was excellent! My son had pompano and raved, his wife had bacon wrapped shrimp which were excellent, I had quail, excellent, my wife had a eggplant dish also excellent and my father had softball crab all great!“
“Me, my son, and my mom, went to Pardo’s today on Easter brunch for my son‘s Birthday. I read reviews, and Brianna was mentioned over and over again as an outstanding waitress, so we requested her. She was on top of her game for our entire experience! She was full of energy and made our experience fun with exceptional service! She made the table, extra special with napkins made of roses ? Little bunnies ? On top of the straws and even gave us an Easter card with a handwritten note inside!! The food was amazing. Everything she recommended was outstanding chefs kiss ?. Definitely ask for Brianna if you enjoy top quality service!! Can’t say enough!“
“From the moment we walked in it is a old timey but modern look to a quality restaurant. We started with the Poutine and maybe the best gravy I've had. Wife had the burger and I had the lasagna. Lasagna perfectly cooked crisp cheese edges that made the whole thing just one perfect bite. Burger has around 10 flavors that you would never expect to go good together and when I say I need to figure out the recipe to make this at home I am serious. We finished the meal with like icebox pie and the pop tart. Whatever the baker did to those desserts even being heated up for service they were absolutely perfect. Amazing texture on the pie, amazing flavor for both and the way the pop tart is crunchy but melts in your mouth is great. For 6 things it wasn't expensive at all and the servers make sure you are taken care of. Also recommend the focaccia bread.“
“We love it here. We choose when to order, can grab our own boxes and leave when we're ready. That food is amazing and the ambience is great!Parking: They have a few of their own spots otherwise it's street parking!Kid-friendliness: Plenty of high chairs and booster seats. Kids had a great time.“
“Hands down the best seafood restaurant on the Northshore! The portions are huge, so go hungry. For years, they continue to be consistently amazing with their food they serve. We cook a lot and are hard to please dining out. Never disappointed here. Planning to go for dinner tomorrow!“
“I've been living near this place for a very long time, finally stopped in for breakfast. Chose the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast. I now have a new measure for Chicken Fried Steak. Without a doubt the best I've ever had and the rest of the plate was awesomely delicious.“
“Update: Just went today to get crawfish, gumbo and boudin balls. The crawfish were so good and well seasoned!!! I hesitate to go today because for the past 3 years, they have not been spicy at all. So I couldn't have been happier today with how spicy they were. They are always clean crawfish, decent sized and today, they were some of the best I've ever eaten! The boudin balls were very delicious. They were kind of like chicken fried, which made them so good. I picked up a quart of gumbo in the market as well... I was super pleased with everything todayGood reliable food!“
“While in the New Orleans area for my wifes birthday trip, we found this place while looking for great seafood on our way back to New Orleans from a trip to a plantation. Upon arrival, we were met by the owner, who was able to find us a seat on the restaurants beautiful and new dining porch overlooking Lake Pontchartrain. I highly recommend this restaurant for quality seafood and great service. The waiter could even tell he was serving some "Yankees" and had fun with the situation. Thanks for the southern hospitality and the delicious seafood!!“
“We stopped in on a spur of the moment road trip to the Northshore. Taylor waited on us and was amazing. She recommended the Tournedos and several drinks. The food was delicious, the atmosphere and staff really nice and the cheesecake was Devine!“
“The Thai ribs and the Korean Chili chicken sandwich are sinful. The ribs fall off the bone every time. Corn grits are always a must. I love dining in because the drinks are really good. It's always just a tad too dark in the restaurant for me, but it's still a nice place to go if you want a decent selection of food and drink.“
“The reviews are spot on you will not be disappointed. Food was amazing and large portions. I was shocked when they brought out the fruit bowl. Less than $7 for all of it!!! Best sausage I have ever had and the gravy was to die for. Mind you we travel full time around the US and this restaurant is in our top 10 now for breakfast. Our waitress, Amanda , was so fast and always made sure we had everything we needed. She said she has been working here for 18 years and the other waitress had been here 16 years. All the wait staff was checking in on our coffee so you never have an empty cup. We can’t wait to come back and try lunch. Don’t miss this place you won’t be disappointed.Kid-friendliness: They were so accommodating with our picky kids lol“
“Absolutely fantastic spot. Food here is great. Patty melt, great. Poutine, great. Wings, great. Excellent beer selection. Quick service on a busy night. The only real criticism is that the servers don't take orders at the table. You have to go to bar to order. Not that it's a problem, but we sat there for a few minutes before we figured things out. Love this place.“
“Staff was amazing, food was delicious one plate was a little soggy with syrup on arrival but who can truly complain about sweet treats!Wide selection, wonderful experience and cold milk!Great mimosasA spiky bloody Mary and here we are craving La Lou all over again“
“First time going tonight. I got the 1/2 smoked chicken plate with collard greens and baked beans. My son got a pulled chicken sandwich with Mac n cheese. Absolutely delish!! Will definitely go back. Waitress said their brisket and baby back ribs were their best sellers. Can’t wait to try!“
“Stopped here for breakfast. The food and service were amazing. I had the shrimp and grits. It’s a big meal. I thought I would have leftovers for lunch but could not stop. It was that good. The coffee is really good here too. Brenna was my server and did an outstanding job.“
“Very pleasantly surprised! My husband and I had a doctor's appt in mandeville so we stopped for lunch. I had the Ferdie ( roast beef, grilled ham, and Swiss cheese) hubby had the surf n turf (roast beef and fried shrimp) they both were delicious! Very flavorful roast beef, it just needed a little more gravy, which I asked for and the young lady provided with no problem. The bread was perfect poboy bread, IYKYK! The onion rings were real homemade onion rings and were delicious. The spicy cheese fries were good as well l, they definitely don't skimp on the cheese! The service was excellent. The young lady at the counter is finery customer friendly. She greets you when you walk in the door and thanks you for your service when you leave. While eating in she comes to the table to check on how you are enjoying the food. We will definitely be back!“
“Always enjoy going to times. We go there every so often. Maybe it's just the seasoning but tasted like things had a good bit of salt on the onion rings and the fries. But overall good times and our waitress was always checking on our table and letting us on food. I think her name was "Kasey" but can't remember.“
“Arrived in Covington LA, while camping after exploring the cajun area, went looking for another Boil. Found this gem on Google. Hubby and I stopped in a little confused gal at register gave us 2 cups and menus suggested we review menus and return to register when ready to order. while trying to decipher the what some items were. a very kind gentleman stopped by table inquired if we needed anything and made some suggestions, got our drinks even though normally self serve, took our order. hubby ended choosing alligater sausage pasta(swamp pasta) I reddish with crawfish cream sauce. Yum on both dishes.Deffinately commItted to return we're salivating on a boil, and they have a platter we want to try. privately owned our nice gentleman was the owner. thank you fr Iowa wished we had you in Des Moines“
“This hospital is clean and everyone we have come in to contact with have been very friendly and helpful. The staff is amazing and attentive. Every Dr. Here have been informative and have a way of making you feel comfortable like a family member. Very Happy with this hospital.“
“Went this evening with a large group (24) of friends. Service was fantastic. Drinks were flowing constantly. Orders were taken correctly and no issues separating checks. All the food came out quickly and hot. We’re a hard bunch and we put the chef and Waiter to a test. They both stepped up their game. The other staff helped as needed, no slacking from anyone. All customers were taken care of.Wheelchair accessibility: Punchy came in with no issues. Sat at the head of the table.“
“Food is great. Service is good but servers are running around all over. Maybe they don't have own sections? I have witnessed the owner more than once while seated at bar counter talk absolutely crazy to staff. I asked for a manager after he left and was told there really isn't one. Just seems like there is a lot on staff with little support. I witnessed two servers hand washing dishes because they were out of clean ones. So again food is great just be patient with staff if you visit.“
“Waffle House rocks. Fast service. Easy to get a table for four. The breakfast sandwich was cooked perfectly. Staff at this location were super friendly. We were a fish out of water looking crew (not locals) and we were welcomed with open arms. 10/10 would “
“The food was good. They are always out of the country gravy, now I just stopped asking for it. The sever wasn’t the greatest. But it’s Waffle House. I don’t come here thinking it’s going to be amazing. Half the fun is seeing what will happen with the service when we go.“
“Passing thru and found this place for breakfast. We got 2 of the Spoon Slams and Two eggs with meat. This was more than enough for our family of 5 (3 kids). Service was great. Polite and even got the kids food out first so we could get them settled. Food was good, came out fast. The beignet fries are a must. Oh and the biscuits are so good.“
“This is the first restaurant we went to after moving here 3 weeks ago. Food was great, our waiter was awesome, and the atmosphere was very laid back. We were seated right away and food came out quickly.Parking: Plenty of parking when we went but I could see it would fill up quick during prime timeKid-friendliness: We had our 4 yr old and 3 month old and felt very welcomed, no judgement“
“Finding a place for breakfast on Christmas morning was a challenge, but thankfully Waffle House was there to save the day. As the only place open, they offered a warm and welcoming place. I ordered the fiesta omelette to go, and it was awesome. What truly stood out was the dedication of the staff. Working on a holiday isn't easy, but they did so with smiles and efficiency. A big thank you to the Waffle House team for making our Christmas morning breakfast a memorable one.“
“Staff is very warm and friendly. We arrived 3 minutes before opening time and were greeted very kindly, taking our order immediately! Show me a place that would do that, today!! Food was delicious. The Betty burger was cooked perfectly, the BLT and Club sandwiches were on point. A great place for comfortable dining, with classic Louisiana charm and hospitality. You would do well to give The Triple Nickel Grill a try. Born and raised in New Orleans, I can vouch for the authentic food. - Stan Weber“
“We are here visiting family and when here, we always come to Cracker Barrel. This is one of the best Cracker Barrel's. The cooks here that the same recipes as used by all the others, but they know how to cook good and it makes all the difference.“
“Our 3rd visit to the Dakota and thoughly enjoyed our dinner. Four of us dined and all enjoyed their meals. Service was lovely. Very quiet night for the staff, we were surprised as our other 2 visits the restaurant was bustling. Please do put this place on your restaurant must go to list as it's definitely worth it. ( And the place itself is beautifully decorated!)“
“This place never ever lets me down! I was blown away once I saw that my favorite hostess, became a server and what a phenomenal job she did. From the moment I entered the front door, until I left was nothing short of a good time with good food and what felt like good friends (staff). Love this place❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️“
“2 words. SWAMP BUCKET.That is all ..Just kidding lol. I went here once a while ago for dinner. It was lovely. Not a lot of super cute options on the North shore. I feel like this is definitely one of them. Came back recently via the boat dock while on an adventure with Captain Mike. That was fun to come through the back and get some tasty cocktails that were very strong from the nice bartenders. Not mad at this experience at all“
“The BEST bbq I’ve had in a long time! I wish I could do 4.5 stars because that’s more accurate. What took away from the experience was the feeling of judgement from patrons at the restaurant. Commenting on my 4 yr old, language being used, smoking in an area next to my table. Otherwise it was great, seriously amazing food.Parking: I’m sure on a Friday or Saturday night parking could be tough but there were plenty of spots when we arrived at 5 pmKid-friendliness: The outside space is great, especially since we were the only ones out there for a little bit.“
“This place is a hidden gem in my opinion! Always fresh hot food and fast friendly service. Happy to have them here in Mandeville. They have great specials as well. I love the buffalo chicken sandwich or the chicken tender basket. Great value as well!“
“Good Food, Great Service, and all around a nice, kool place to eat, chill with friends or just have a solo meal at anytime day or night , never closed.Kid-friendliness: Wide variety to choose from on the kids menuWheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair ramp at front door“
“Great food! My husband and I ordered breakfast and both dishes were delicious. Bloody Mary was well made, just the right amount of kick. We were told it is under new management and the food is even better than before. We highly recommend checking it out!“
“Consistently great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Staff is attentive and Friendly. Selection is diverse enough for various tastes. This visit I had the Sea Bass, my husband the Ribeye and my brother the lasagna. All excellent. You cannot go wrong. This is officially my favorite restaurant in the S Louisiana area.“
