“Oh my, what a fun place to have some delicious food, a variety of drinks, a great Lakeshore view and you can bring your pup as a bonus! I’m talking about Barley Oak on Lakeshore Drive in Mandeville Louisiana. As my pictures and video below will show, you are front and center of the lakefront, and have a variety of choices in drink and dining selections and also where you’d like to sit! I had the redfish tacos, my friends had the shrimp tacos, and we all shared the sausage and cheese appetizer, which was absolutely amazing. You have got to get the gator sausage for sure. It being pet friendly, you can have your pup leashed inside or outside and the people water drinking station. there are water bowls for the pups as well. Where have you ever seen that! There’s also lively conversation, gathering of friends and family and don’t forget about a stroll across the street along the Lakeshore, a beautiful time all around. There is free parking conveniently streetside or Lakeside as well. The Barley Oak will not disappoint on any level.

A local piano player was singing very Nolacentric music and was very good. My husband had a TOP NOTCH Old Fashioned with Luchardo? Cherries sure fire way to set the bar at top notch. Wine bottles 50% off at happy hour. The mid priced Cab I chose not an award winner ? IMO but nice. The only disappointment was the Charcuterie Board for $27.00 (portions of cheese and meats skimpy) but delicious. We were charged and additional fee when we asked for a few more crackers.“

“Loved the music selection, the decor, and the service. I can't remember his name, but the English guy (bartender) was super cool. Tara was great, per usual. The atmosphere was a bit off the later it got and the pool equipment could use a little TLC. But it's a super cool little dive bar though!“
