“Mediterranean Grill has become one of our "go-to's" when my wife and I decide to go out to dinner! They have a robust menu offering and you can try something different every time, whether you're looking for a light meal or a hearty one. We typically grab a couple seats at the bar, and the staff is always very friendly and attentive. Every time we walk in, a manager is there to greet us and gets us to a couple seats either by the bar or at the adjacent tables. One of my favorite items on the menu is the messa platter--- sometimes I'll even just order this as my entree. If you enjoy Greek food, this is the place for you!“
“I’ve been eating here for almost 3 years. The food is always tasty. I usually just order pick up but this time I sat inside. No complaints. Portions are very large, aka leftovers ;).Prices are similar to most other places.Ample parking space.“
“Wednesday and Thursday night Karaoke with Jim Gagnon is so much fun. Some decent singer and a wide variety of characters. Food is ok. Drinks are heavy duty...beware. Bartenders are super friendly. Been many times and will keep going back when I feel like singing.“
“My husband and I ate here today and enjoyed our experience. We tried the cheese pizza, the beef and lamb Gyro and butternut squash salad. We were not fans of the pizza only because we like a thinner crust but the sauce and cheese were great! We thought the food was good, service was fantastic and there was a nice friendly atmosphere.“
“The food here is absolutely amazing. They're pizza is one of the best I have ever tasted. It is fresh and tastes splendid. The staff here is very friendly and do such an amazing job. It also has a great atmosphere if you plan on dining in.“
“I was impressed by service of this restaurant, we were sitting on the bar and Harold was so attentive and helpful, the food was so good, wine and the cocktail “purple rain” was my favorite, I definitely recommend to visit this amazing place “
“Fantastic bar on the west side of Providence, walkable from Downtown, Federal Hill, and the West End. My favorite part of their drink menu is their cocktails, but they have a great beer selection and decent wine selection as well. Prices are very affordable, and the service has always been great. Most times I’ve gone it’s been a chill spot, not too crowded with good music. This past weekend I went and it was packed. We figured we came during an event, and turns out it was Kimi’s birthday! Even got a slice of birthday cake on the house, and had a great time even though we felt a bit like party crashers. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly, though, and I’m looking forward to coming back again!“
“Wonderful curated bookstore! Not only do they have adult books, they have great children books and greeting cards. The owners Alexa and Emory are the nicest pair and make the store so welcoming. I also love that you can order any book online through them. Definitely check it out!“
“i've been to a lot of places that have burgers, but the burgers here are some of the best you'll ever have. When I usually go here I get two appetizers, we tried the cornbread and the tenders they were excellent the burgers you get here are smash burgers cook to perfection, and the service is really fast, make sure you go early because It can get busy“
“Their stuffed pretzels are out of the world!! The beer is amazing, banana pudding beer is a must try!! Their apricot butter dipping creates heaven in our mouth!! Highly recommend going there for a bite of their delicious pretzels and dips!!“
“Fabulously located on the river with great outdoor seating, very bike friendly and a great spot for a date!! We tried Besina, the Mexican concept for lunch one day and the Italian concept, Double Zero, for dinner another night. Both had inventive, well executed menus though not a total knockout from either. Would come back to try more from both of these spots, as well as the other businesses in the market hall. Double Zero: We loved the deconstructed raw lasagne - I cannot emphasize how cool this dish is - cultured cashew ricotta, dollops of tomato sauce and pesto, and thinly sliced ribbons of raw zucchini. It's phenomenal and I want to make it at home. Not as great - the chili pizza. It doesn't have enough toppings and was just an oily sheet of dry dough with globs of the same cashew ricotta. Besina: We were pleased to be introduced to Tlayuda, a thin Oaxacan flat bread that they top with jackfruit, loads of cultured cashew crema, herbs, and avocado. My partner was crazy about it but i'm generally not totally convinced by the sweetness of jackfruit and it was a little too wet for my taste. Not as great - the Tacos Dorados. Fried oyster mushrooms were heavy and dense and served with an aioli which contributed to the heavy flavors. Could be remedied with a lighter batter on the mushrooms and more of a salad/pickled veg component and it would be delicious. Updated from previous review on 2024-04-04“
“Great place to hang. Owners are amazing and the staff are some of the best in the business! Great selection of beers and spirits, free pinball and spectacular decor if you’re a horror fan. Where else can you go and see a picture of an autographed foot?“
“Perhaps one of The Point Tavern's most enchanting features is its private patio. This hidden gem offers an intimate setting for dining, drinking, and socializing. Surrounded by tasteful greenery and ambient lighting. Each dish, from appetizers to entrees, is prepared with an attention to detail, combining classic comfort food with innovative twists.“
“Quite the hidden gem. I stumbled upon this as a choice coming in from out of town and considered it an option if we had nothing else to do. We had some time, so wandered over to this very unassuming to the point of worrisome place. However, super worth it. I've been to barcades before but haven't been to one that charges a general admission ($7 pp) for unlimited games which is (pun intended) a game changer. The drinks were very reasonably priced. The gaming options felt like I was preparing for Ready Player One, with extensive options. Most games were functional (RIP left guitar of Guitar Hero) and it was awesome to be able to win skeeball and air hockey over and over again and continue my mission on various games without having to pay for more time. Wish I had more time to spend here!“
“Axe bar is a very fun and very well ran establishment. The atmosphere is amazing and the trainers are great at what they do. I really liked that safety was at the forefront during training on how to throw an axe.Kevin is fantastic at what he does and very eccentric.10/10 recommend.“
“Officially one of my new favorite restaurants in providence! When you walk in, there's dim lighting which I particularly enjoyed especially because it made the providence sign stand out. Our waitress was kind and very attentive from the minute we were seated. Now the food was divine, everything was perfect. We ordered the calamari and each ordered the short rib with gnocchi. Every ingredient in that dish complimented each other so well, it was such a lovely culinary experience. My friend also ordered the "only fans" drink which she enjoyed. Will definitely return and can't wait to introduce more family and friends to this restaurant.“
“the doorman (Bam, I think was his name?) was very polite and was very on top of checking EVERY ID (we watched him). haha also the bartenders were kicking ass (Morgan and another guy) and it was packed in here due to a memorial, and that was great to see the comradere at this local bar for the sad loss of a local.“
“We were at Halligans for a farewell party for a company employee who was retiring after 20-30 years with their company.... the atmosphere was very comfortable, the party room size totally fit the retirement event perfectly.... there were 20+ there for the Retirement party.....The Barkeep was incredible in keeping things rolling....and the Kitchen Crew put together a most wonderful and tasteful spread of dining choices!!! .....and while this was my 1st experience there... I can truthfully attest that Halligans is indeed a location to choose as your event center!!!Enjoy!!!! Q“
“Frequenting Red Door has become a ritual for my friends and myself, and for a good reason - it's a culinary destination that effortlessly marries an exceptional drink menu with an inviting ambiance and engaging events. Red Door, in my experience, is a delightful journey through flavors with menu items such as the Heihei chicken and drinks such as Oaxacacillin, and Emerald City, and an ever-changing tapestry of events, and a haven of positive vibes.“
“John the owner is super friendly and sociable and his staff (especially Honna) give amazing service and are very friendly to be around. Have seen many live bands here and it’s great to see the local scene continue on through here highly recommend!“
“What a fun place. A great neighborhood local bar. The owners treat you well and the bartenders made sure your glass is never empty. Great evening with a group of friends and listen to the entertainment. I look forward to going back soon.Derek D.“
“My favorite Mexican restaurant! Everything I order is always fresh and delicious. Few of my favorites queso, birra tacos, rice and beans and enchiladas. The queso is absolutely amazing so cheesy and delicious, birra tacos are my new favorite so tasty and lots of meat. I've been on nights where they have a mariachi band and that's always a fun time!“
“Absolutely Horrible service . Order few burgers around noon and waited till 230 !! And that was Take out!! Unbelievable. they said 20 min …we literally had to leave and go somewhere else just couldn’t wait any longer it’s that bad …. Here’s your warning“
“I enjoyed that real spiceyness that came with my bufflo tenders and bufflo chicken wings were perfectly made the seafood is made with skill and a refreshing skilled hand making great dishes friendly peaple with my favoite clam chowder I will definitely be “
“It’s a good spot that stays open later than most places in the area but with really good food. I’ve come back multiple times in one week.Loved almost everything I’ve had here. The charcuterie board comes with soft boiled eggs and toasts.I like the lighting in the evening ; nice and dim but I did see some people needing their phone lights to see the menu. I thought it was perfect lighting though.Great mashed potatoes. Very creamy and maybe whipped? The prices of some items are reasonable and others are a bit more expensive. Fries were $9 and they were great but I just think that’s an odd price for that.It does get really loud in here at night on weekends as they try to transition into more of a bar.Parking is obviously a bit difficult but they seem to offer valet services and I chose to walk instead. It’s also not far from the bus for easy public transportation. You should make a reservation if you decide to come here during popular times like Friday-Saturday nights but most other times are fine.“
“This is a fantastic restaurant with great service. The food was really good and the pace was relaxed. Our waiter was one of the best I have ever had. Extremely attentive and kind. We ate here for Easter. Wide selection of items. Everyone was happy with their meals. We will be back.“
“Apps - Polenta fries were the best I’ve ever had. Nice crispy exterior and beautifully creamy inside. Well seasoned and you get the taste of jalepeño without the spiciness. As someone who makes their own plenty of fries at home, I highly recommend these! We also shared the ribs which were fall off the bone amazing! Sauce had a little kick and I appreciated the garnish with peanuts to provide some crunch!Overall, I think the apps were better than the entree and there were a lot more “small plates” to choose from.Entree - my partner and I split the fried chicken sandwich and burger. Both of which were great sandwiches, meaty and well seasoned. Fries come on the side and had a nice seasoning on them.Service - appetizers came out quick, no issues there. However, for the entrées, I was served my sandwich five minutes before my partner and was nearly done before he got his food. That’s really the only fault we can find!Key Takeaways:⭐️ bring friends to go tapas style with all the amazing small plates / appetizers⭐️ingredients are high qualityWheelchair accessibility: Accessible“
“Came tonight to celebrate my daughter's birthday! Food was delicious! My picky eater son loved the skewers! Steaks were phenomenal, as always! Our waiter was super nice, but I felt not very attentive given it wasn't a super busy night. Overall a great dinner at 10!“
“We are from out of town and wanted the "local" experience. The bartender was great and he gave us so much insider info about the city and where to go. The regulars were super, the food was simple yet delicious and the live music was a fun bonus!! Definitely get some local beer and the stuffies!!“
“I just wanted to drop a 5-star review and give a shoutout to Dallas for making us feel so welcome this evening. I called ahead to inquire about mocktails, and was told they could definitely accommodate that request. My coworker and I showed up, neither of us drink, and Dallas made us both amazing mocktails. I often feel like the bartenders in most places are annoyed when you don’t drink alcohol but I really did feel welcome and included and was very grateful. The drinks were great, and I will definitely be back, alcohol or no alcohol. You guys are great! Thanks so much.“
“I moved away from RI 9 years ago. While back home to see family, we visited Davenport's in Cumberland for the extensive gluten free menu to accommodate my celiac. Everything was wonderful, and the Portuguese kale soup especially tasted like childhood and home. Thanks so much.“
“My daughter and I have been wanting to go here since the start of the pandemic! Finally made it. It is the cutest bar. Small inside but heated patio outside. We went when they first opened on NYE. The most friendly staff I’ve ever encountered. The cocktails were delicious. Definitely going back in the warmer weather •“
“We went today and it was a great experience! They allowed us to sit privately in the dining room and the food is authentic and excellent quality. I felt like I was back living in Venezuela, the arepas were fresh and the perfect texture. Everything was great, we’ll be back again soon.“
“Small venue, small dance floor, can be overwhelming @ times with Drunk college kids, drinks are moderately priced they also have themed night's like comedy night, karaoke night, and jam bands etc; pretty cool spot!!Parking: There is rarely front door on street parking, I usually park half a block away, DO NOT PARK IN WALGREENS they will tow you sometimes there is off side street parking!!Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to get into Jake and Johnny's but no automatic door opener ?and no ramp for the restaurant to get into that definitely needs to be addressed and fixed !“
“Couldn’t say more about the service, the food & the ambiance. The steak fajitas were flavorful, the chicken tinga nachos were satisfying & the Al pastors tacos were really good. We loved the Mezcal margaritas as well! Ate too quickly to take photos. Looking forward to coming back.“
“The new, full service bar is very attractive, with great lighting, a tin ceiling and a fully stocked bar. What is not new is the continued great, personable service by John, the owner, and the Delicious food. The burgers were cooked to perfection, the onion petals and their sauce are amazing. I'm not a fried food fan, but those onion petals cannot be beat!“
“Love this bar!! the drinks are affordable and everyone is so friendly! great place to have a nightcap and play Keno! me and my boyfriend we love stopping in after date night! Specially because my boyfriend is a firefighter and they honor them all over the walls!“
“Saw a great show had this amazing drink, I don't drink often and this was great sweet and tasty. Had popcorn chicken and jalapenos poppers it's bar food it's salty and delicious. They had pizzas that looked good but I already overindulged would go back“
“I've always enjoyed going here, it's never the same. Sometimes we go, it's slow and other times it's crazy busy. Foods consistent. The wait staff are friendly. Food is always quick and drinks are priced accordingly. Will definitely return.“
“Best bar in Providence and I have only been to this one( can’t see anyone being better). Heard good things about it and it did not let me down. The ladies that work here are all tremendous, Polite, professional and know how to make a damn drink. Not only can they hold a conversation but the people that come into the bar can too. All around a great bar with great people and great drinks. Support this place because they deserve it and you will appreciate it too. I’m new to Providence and the place in a whole made me feel welcome!!!!“
“Came here for my first night out since I’ve been sober on a Monday night , my friends all drink so I was fully expecting to feel a little weird drinking my water while they all drank cocktails , the bartender was wonderful & made me the cutest mocktail , he was super friendly & not annoyed at all by the request , made my day is an understatement. I didn’t have cash on me but I can’t wait to come in to thank him properly .“
“I had some time to kill before catching a train out of town. I'm glad I stopped in here. Such a cool, laid-back cocktail bar in downcity Providence. Ryan is an amazing bartender who's quick with a drink suggestion and is an absolute artiste while making a cocktail. A good place to have a drink or two with.“
“Friday night, I visited The Old Grist Mill and almost didn't get to experience what turned out to be a fantastic dining experience. The place was bustling, and initially, it seemed like the wait would be too long. Just as I was about to leave, the manager, Danny, noticed and swiftly intervened to find us a spot. It was a relief not to have to search for another place to eat.Once seated, the service was remarkably attentive despite the crowd. The server recommended the baked stuffed shrimp, which was absolutely deliciou. It was amazing how the staff managed the busy environment without letting the quality of service drop. It was impressive how they handled our initial inconvenience with such professionalism and grace.“
“Went for the first time last night , the food was delicious ! Our waitress was fantastic and the atmosphere as well ! Very cozy ! I really loved the menu selections . Everything we had, apps and entrees were delicious ! I will be going back !!“
“Thank you so much for a wonderful meal and great service to all 12 of us!! Your steamers are the BEST around!! We ordered eight pounds and ate every last one! All of our meals came out hot and at the same time! Your specials are always something to look forward to!! It was the best 82nd birthday celebration to my mom! Red Bridge NEVER disappoints!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“We have a team dinner at this place. Most of us are traveling from other East coast cities, like New York, Philly and Boston. If this can change to all you can eat version, that will be even better. For the food, I feel Spicy pot is better than the tomato one. (tomato one is not juicy enough) overall beef related meat is good. Frog leg is not tender enough, and stripe is not tasting right from real Chinese way. Overall is good.“
“Can't say enough great things about this place. Bartenders make great drinks and they are attentive as heck. Did I mention that they're friendly to EVERYONE? What I like the most is that you're not paying 12 dollars for a drink, it's a few bucks...WHAT? :-)“
“WILL drive back to RI from NY for the calamari. Best I ever had, like ever. The short rib was a tad disappointing. It was cooked to perfection but tastless. Everything else was great including our server RYAN with an R. Thanks for a wonderful experience. My sister enjoyed her birthday dinner. Will be back.“
“Be careful of the margaritas—they are large and potent. Also tasty as they use real lime. One night there was a mariachi band. Really talented singer. Food is either good or very good depending on what you order. Many Latinx people eat here or work here. A good sign.“
