Luckily, right around the corner was Aguardente, which is a Guatamalen & Portuguese tapas restaurant. Love the interior decorations and warm welcoming vibe. We started with quejo de cabra, rellenitos, & the minha caiparinha. Then we had the batatas fritas, empanadas de pollos, polvo grelhado, & almondegas. Everything from the service to all of the dishes being seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing.“

We chose Hangry Kitchen, just 6 minutes from downtown. So much that I could say about the meal. But I will summarize it. I asked if I could get a side of tomato juice for my beer. (Yeah beer and tomato juice is amazing). They did not have any canned or bottled tomato juice. THEY JUICED SOME TOMATOS! The rest of the meal was just as memorable. “Stopped by after our first time at the harness racing track. Wait staff and front desk were very friendly and professional. Even the manager stopped by the make sure everything was good. The seafood soup was awesome! The arugula and salmon salad was more than enough. Beet salad could have had a larger portion of beets. Bread was nice and warm and flavorful. We'll be back.“

“After riding bikes over the Henderson Bridge from Providence, we stopped in for lunch. There wasn’t a bike rack, but there was a long fence next to the parking lot that made locking up the bikes easy.

We each ordered the blue plate, which looking around the restaurant, seems to be a popular choice among diners. The server allowed us to substitute tenders in place of the fried thigh and drumstick for the blue plate. I ordered my tenders with the honey Cholula flavor and blue cheese sauce. My partner ordered the Nashville hot flavor with truffle mayo. Both were great, but I’d recommend ordering the Nashville hot or Spicy flavors with blue cheese in retrospect.

For sides, we tried the collard greens, cheesy cheddar grits, corn bread with honey butter, and pulled pork baked beans. All were very good. The cornbread was a good choice because it can serve as a dessert at the end of the meal. The grits and baked beans were both excellent as spreads in the Texas toast that comes with the blue plate. If you order the collard greens, note that it has a pretty intense (almost smoky) flavor and lots of bacon, so be sure that you like both. The creamed corn sweet potato tater tots were popular choices among other customers while we were there.

This is the perfect restaurant if you’re in the mood for fried chicken and Southern food. Bring your appetite because the food is filling; I was glad to hop back on our bikes and do some more exercise after lunch!“

“Dined here last night before PPAC, for that reason we made an early dinner reservation. I confirmed when calling they had valet parking. We arrived to find no valet attendant. After some back and forth with hostess and manager my husband was finally able to come inside for dinner, nearly 30 mins wasted. Our server AJ provided exemplarry service; she was personable and knew the menu like the back of her hand. We appreciated her service, and our dinners were all very good. As we departed we confirmed with the tardy valet attendant if we could leave the car and pick up after the show as we do with neighboring establishments and he said no because they would be closed by the time the show was over; this couldn’t have been further from the truth. The valet was rude, late, and it’s terribly unfortunate that the valet ruined what could have been a great dinner with friends.“

“Another day, another chance for more tacos with the RI Food Fight's TacoMania. This time we started with Diego's. As it was a Saturday, no tables were available from reservations but we were able to grab a seat at the bar. The space is open, dark. A blend of Mexican homage and industrial brick. An open kitchen gives you the chance to watch your meal be prepared in full view. Our bartender, Greer was super friendly and balanced attentiveness. She is detail oriented and was very accommodating. She quickly took care of our drinks and got our food order in ASAP. They offered a limited menu for TacoMania and I chose the carne option. It came out in a crunchy blue corn tortilla. After a squeeze of lime, I dug in. The crunch was everything you wanted it to be and more. The beef with queso fundido made this a slight messy but overall delicious taco. We got the cornbread souffle to share and it was outstanding. The souffle itself was savory and very corn forward, as opposed to the sweeter cornbread you see in the south. They add a touch of something sweet to balance it out. My friend had the shrimp chimichirri tacos and they said they were a 10/10. So glad to find another tasty spot in the TacoMania trail!“

“I very much enjoyed my experience at OURS. The food was delectable and the drinks were tasteful. I very much enjoyed the wings with the Garlic as well as the Steak Tikka. It was $30 which some might consider pricey, but came with a very large portion of food. It included hummus, nan, rice, a salad and of course the steak, so I’d say it’s fairly priced. Overall I enjoyed the food and will certainly return but next time I’ll try the hookah!“
