“The place is medium sized but really cozy I love the plants and the matcha options are great my favorite is the rose matcha hot! Iced looses a bit of the rose flavor and the matcha feels high quality and just really well prepared. I tried the pastries and they are good wishes they had warmed it up in an oven it felt microwaved but they were still amazing.“

“The specialty coffees and Matcha tea were fabulous. Unfortunately the pastries don't offer any gluten-free options, so I had to take a pass.
There is a nice positive vibe for the atmosphere, it's quiet but you feel free to talk.
There is plenty of off street parking and if the lot is full, there is on street parking available free of charge. I would definitely have a coffee here again, if I were in the area.“

The Italian Caprese Toast Sandwich was fresh and flavorful, while the Chicken Salad Croissant and Classic Ham & Cheese Croissant were buttery, flaky, and absolutely delicious. I also loved their pastries – the Blueberry Cheese Danish and Blueberry Mascarpone Slice were light yet indulgent, and the Strawberry Cake Slice was the perfect sweet treat.

Their smoothies are amazing too – you can really taste the difference with the 100% real fruit. The Berry Berry Smoothie was refreshing, the Mango Smoothie was tropical and smooth, and the Harvest Green Smoothie felt both healthy and tasty.

“This place has all the advantages of the Caffe Nero that it used to be without any of the disadvantages. In other word's it's spacious, has a variety of furniture and seating options (equally good spot for solo laptop work, relaxed book time, group meeting), lots of outlets, nice big windows, a great menu with reasonable price point. Compared to before the business turned over the coffee is better (IMO) and cheaper and the place no longer feels depressing in that way that carbon copy coffee franchises do. The people who work here are so nice and there is always a place to sit! In fact it's too easy to find a spot—please visit Cafe Lava and Bento and support this business so that we can keep them around.“

Came here on a Saturday afternoon to get some work done. The whole area feels like a mini Seaport, but with way fewer crowds. There’s a small lawn out front, plenty of outdoor seating, and an easygoing, relaxed vibe. Pretty much everything you’d want from a neighborhood café.

I tried two of their fall specials: blackberry vanilla matcha and the apple cider + espresso. Both were fine, but the coffee and the breakfast sandwich were great. The sandwich came with a thick, jiggly egg soufflé patty that made it surprisingly satisfying even without any meat or extra toppings. Definitely one of the better breakfast sandwiches I’ve had from a coffee shop.

This is inside Legacy Place - parking was busy in the afternoon/evening. Noisy, but not too loud. I was still able to take a casual phone call without the listener having too much background noise. There is a workspace/conference room you can also rent out by the hour. They're open fairly late compared to other cafes in the area (8pm), so that was appreciated.“

“Although part of a global chain, Caffè Nero did a nice job of capturing the distinct history of this Wellesley Hills station designed by architect H.H. Richardson. The building was completed in 1886, and after the station was decommissioned the space was various retail outlets until Nero took over in 2016.

And the food and drink? Relative to other bakeries and coffee shops in Wellesley (there are a lot!) the coffee is good, and the baked goods are workmanlike. An added plus is the large parking lot for the train next door, free on weekends.

I really like the old photos showing the building and interior spaces on the walls. It’s fun to compare “then and now” while you sip a coffee.

“This food is BOMBB and the place is so cute. I just picked up lunch from there for the first time and got the tuna and avocado sandwich. It was delicious! There were also so many handmade little gifts in there and I definitely want to go back to try more things.“

We came in during the afternoon, and it was quite busy but the staff were very accommodating and knew the menu quite well, recommending some things to try out. They had a large assortment of pre-assembled goods to buy, such as chocolate covered nuts, as well as hot chocolate mix.

We tried the hot chocolate and the dulce de leche. The portion size was reasonable for the price, and the chocolate was pretty good. The hot chocolate was made primarily of dark chocolate, which isn't my favorite, but turned out to be a good choice as it cooled down and became more rich.

Overall, a great experience and would definitely come back to try again.“

“Really fast service. I ordered a peach cream matcha and it was really good. A lot of variety in drinks, a lot more than Gongcha's, and I personally prefer these flavors as well. The boba itself was really good, consistently sweet and chewy. Goncha and Kung Fu Tea are similarly priced, so it's up to you on which flavor or boba floats your boat, however I would choose Kung Fu Tea over Gongcha any day.“
