“We are visiting from England and have been to Heart and Soul three times in the past week. Why? Yes, the coffee is excellent and the food is very good, but it's the warmth and hospitality of the owner, Bud, that has impressed us most. We have lived and travelled in many places around the world but rarely have we experienced an owner with such a wonderful attitude and such a welcome. It feels like visiting a friend when we come to Heart and Soul....a place that embodies the name of the cafe and an owner who clearly knows what hospitality means.“

“We hosted my son's high school graduation party in the Bramble room + the upstairs lounge. From start to finish, the staff made the process easy and well organized. While we wanted to host a nice party, we also wanted to keep the costs reasonable. The team was creative with their suggestions and helpful in accommodating our requests. Not hosting this event at home, allowed us to really enjoy our guests and to leave the planning up to the experts. Everyone loved the food and the service staff went out of their way to make this a memorable night! Thanks again!“

“visited the Salem Willows location for the first time the other night, as a person with allergies I was thrilled to be able to enjoy the Vegan cookies and creme with GF Oreos 😍 delicious! And the staff was amazing, TJ answered all my allergy questions with a smile, really helpful, and Olivia gave us gorgeous cups of ice cream that were perfectly scooped, not always the case when you get ice cream on a hot day, so thank you to you both 🥰❤️“

““Pure Pastry” was highly recommended by “Cakes for Occasions” because they couldn’t make a Vegan cake. So I called and asked Kim to make my son who is a Vegan an all Vegan birthday cake. We were all pleasantly surprised at how delicious and moist his chocolate cake was with vanilla cream frosting with strawberries in the middle and on top was. Five people ate this cake and we all loved the taste. It looked beautiful too. Another thing I also love about this bakery is the cake box. The cake fit in the box very nicely and on the top you could see the cake through a see through film which was an elegant touch. My son’s cake was so good that I had to order a Vegan strawberry vanilla cake for my birthday too. I can’t wait to get it. Kim is so very friendly and such a nice person and she is very easy to get a hold of on the phone. I very highly recommend Kim and “Pure Pastry” for all of your pastry needs.“

Our sever Brenna was amazing very attentive when the place was buzzing. The atmosphere in here was nothing but pure joy from all around laughter and happiness filled the restaurant. “Gluten Free Chocolate Chip cookies! That's the one thing my wife wants me to let you know. We were fortunate to stop here while traveling through. We got a few coffees, crescents (not GF) and cookies. After we drove away my wife started raving about how amazing the GF Chocolate Chip cookies were. She told me several times they were the best she ever had and wished that we had gotten more. I had a bite (even though I love gluten in my cookies) and I have to admit they were great. Thanks for a great treat! My wife's only regret is that we were traveling (11 hours away) and we won't be in the area again to get some more. If you stop by, be sure to eat a GF cookie for her!“

“This was my first time here I live out of state currently and I have alpha gal syndrome so I am allergic to mammal. This place we decided to try it out and man oh man! This was my first time eating in a restaurant in a LONG time!!! Absolutely amazing food! It all looks and smells delicious! The staff is very friendly! I highly recommend this place! The menu can be found online and the paper menu in-house is clearly marked with possible allergen information! 10/10.“

“What can I say other than magical?! We were fortunate enough to host my son’s 11th birthday party in the back room (The kids loved the secret hidden entrance through the bookcase). Tons of great games for all ages and the food was fantastic! Literally everything we had was gourmet quality and up to my foodie 11 year-old’s standards. We will definitely be back if not just for the food!“

“OMG Best breakfast ever. Got a western omelet and I must say was the best one one I've had in years. My daughter got the veggie omlet and is the first time I've ever seen her clean her plate! Will definitely go here from now on. No other restaraunt can will ever top this place. Good coffee, friendly people, great service, and great prices. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting the best! I'm not the only one that likes it there. There was only one empty table left. Wheelchair access, handicap parking nesr the front door that makes it an easy access for those needing it. Will definitely go back there. Hard to find anywhere with a breakfast this good.“

“The food was delicious here. The portion size was great! I forgot to take pictures but the food was so very good.

It was hard deciding between 5 Star and 4 Star. I wish we could give fraction of stars because while the food tasted great there are some things that keep it from a perfect 5 stars.

The meat and veggies and huge chunks in the curry so you have to spend time cutting them down to make the bites and the duck was a little dry, not much and the flavor was so good that it almost didn't matter.

So I really think this place deserves like a 4.8 or 4.9 stars. it's so close to just a pure amazing Thai place.“

“This local spot was hopping on a Monday evening. I ordered take out and arrived early and had a Margarita ($12.75) at the bar. Someone did offer chips & salsa but I declined. I ordered the house margarita and it was prepared with a mix and for some reason no salt on the rim. I think I saw the bartender make it with Hornitos tequila which is my favorite. I ordered the taquitos, tortilla soup, enchiladas, quesadillas, and a side of beans. The food reheated well and was packaged with care. The only bummer for me was they still use styrofoam. I can’t wait until all restaurants use a biodegradable option for their take out. A big plus was the two young gals at the door. They both had big smiles and were very welcoming when I arrived and also said goodbye when I left. You could tell they were enjoying working there. A good sign.“

“We sat at the bar, our furst visit. A remodeled church with a friendly welcoming staff. A cozy and classy atmosphere. The food was fantastic, drinks were great, bartenders engaging, not intrusive nor evasive. They were great.
The worst thing I can say about our visit... the air conditioning could use servicing, but it wasn't sweltering hot or seriously uncomfortable, just noticeable. So, no complaints!! We will definitely be back again! So, should you find yourself in the vicinity of Newburyport MA... I highly recommend it. I'll get pictures next time!!“
