I love the concept, the philosophy, the staff, the cooking, the flavors, and whenever I can get a double dose of delicious fried plantains it's a plus plus plus! Great for catering and events. Highly recommend this business. Very nice sit down space in and outside. Stop eating bland lunches with too much salt and start ordering healthy well cooked and seasoned hearty meals!!!“

The food was special- so delicious that my husband, son and I agreed that this was our favorite restaurant. “My family and I were in town visiting. We stopped here to get some food before heading home. While the wait was long, the food was so worth it. Not only was the hostess so accommodating and friendly, but the portions were huge and delicious! Between the 6 plates, we ordered Chicken, fried turkey and the fried pork(griot) which were all cooked to perfection! 10/10 would highly recommend! “The kind of spot we have been waiting for in Mattapan. The location is low key and fun. The owners and staff have excellent customer service. Paul makes great drinks and can make you a nice drink off menu. I ordered oxtail Alfredo which is very rich and tasty. My favorite is the curry goat.“

I was driving and came upon this restaurant i didn't plan on going to this restaurant but I said to self stop and get a few Patties and wouldn't you know they had no Patties. I left the restaurant with Corn Soup Peas & Rice Chicken Roti Beef Roti. I also got to try a dessert I've never had before I don’t know the name of it but had Guava Sweet Potato Coconut and other things to make this dessert which was really good so I ordered 2 to go. D Coal Pot is definitely a place you must visit and get a meal.“

“Great experience at a event for a family. Chester, the owner, did from soup to nuts. Decorating was on point very festive but so tasteful, getting the DJ Larry who was awesome, and providing the meal. The staff was very engaging without being intrusive and pleasant. The food was so good and plentiful. No one left empty handed unless they wanted to. The only downside was the parking and everyone found parking even if it was a little walk to the venue. This place is a must for good vibes and great food.“

“My roti was sooo good! I got the boneless chicken and shrimp spicy option. It was seasoned very well, and they were generous with the meat portions. Every bite that I took had a piece of shrimp or chicken. I think I beat the rush because there was only one person in front of me and I didn’t have to wait long for my order.

Food: Fried beef plate is delicious. Meat is tender yet crispy on the outside. Plantains are the perfect mid point between sweet and savory. Pikliz is spicy and left me wanting more!“

There is a lot of places in the area that sell fritai or Haitian patties but not too many that sell all this plus rice plates, macaroni etc. You that real Haitian food your folks make. Food is amazing especially the rice and staff always has a smile. Food can take a but to come out but that's only because lots of Haitian food isn't "fast food" so I understand. If you want something quick get their fritai or dine out and order ahead and you probably won't wait long“

“Def not the best jerk chicken I've ever had, but I got it pulled and close to closing so I can't take away too much praise. The ambiance was great; they have great branding and the staff is excellent. Just a lot of boxes taking up a quarter of the resturant and one table completely taken up with a laptop and other miscellaneous personal items. They are brand new so I'm sure in time it'll change.Either way, service was amazing.Rice, amazingPlantains, amazingJerk chicken, tasted like store baught jerk sauce.Definitely recommend tho as their prices are fair and they give a lot of food per order.

His review is ‘they are the best cookers in the world.’ He also wants to give the meal seven stars. The food was great as usual! My go-to is the pabellon criollo, delicious and filling! “My family discovered the TapTap by chance, when my teen’s phone quit working during an outing and he needed to call home for help. The proprieters very kindly allowed him to use their phone, and while he waited for pick-up, he ordered some food. We ended up enjoying a delicious and generous rice bowl and beef and chicken pasties. So flavorful!! We are so glad to have found this fantastic gem, and plan to return for more!“

“Go! Super small and unassuming but it’s super affordable, the staff was friendly, pretty big portions and SO good! Mac & cheese is a must! We also loved the plantains and the ginger wings. We enjoyed the spring chicken sandwich but it was better without the bun, honestly could use more of a homemade softer bread, but the fried chicken and spicy jam with side of sweet potato fries was super yummy and filling. Definitely worth leaving Boston for, easy parking and no wait.“

“I have only done take-out, but you can also eat here. The jerk chicken is good, and I have also enjoyed the oxtail and curry goat. The fish dishes are also tasty. Not as many vegetable sides as I would prefer, but still enjoyable as a treat every now and then.“

Walked home after sharing a scoop of oreo and cookie dough (sort of sharing, the boy can be a bit stingy when the food is good...) and with a meal each: jerk chicken and stew beef.
