“There's a lot of hype around Lakon and I wasn't going to wait in line. Came around 3 pm on a Saturday and there was no line and several types of croissants left, I asked which the employee recommended and she said the crème brûlée. It was an investment for $8.50 although it was large. It looked great due to being completely covered with the shiny clear sugar shell that's on top of traditional brûlée (burnt sugar). It was stuffed with the crème and was so large and hard on the outside that it was not easy to take a bite of! I managed, and it was quite tasty but it was hard to really isolate the croissant itself and for that reason I'd recommend going with a more basic option ($4.50) Small shop with friendly employees.“

“Sip of Joy is a lovely spot in the South End to enjoy a drink and pastry. The service is friendly, and the space is bright and welcoming. There are different types of seating, including counter stools and a large table.I got a plain croissant that was warmed up, and an iced chai latte. Both were tasty, but while I wouldn't get the croissant again, there were other treats that I want to try in the future.“

“Best coffee shop in spring Hill, and gives everything in Davis a run for their money easy. Always a line out the door on weekends and deservedly, but they move fast. Great pepper biscuits, great yogurt. BLT is weirdly bad but the turkey sandwich is great.“

“I went for the raving reviews but I found this place perfectly adequate. The cream of wheat was indeed the star of the show. It came quickly and hot, but then it was about a 45-50 minute wait for our mains. We went on a Sunday morning so maybe this is as slammed as they get but I wouldn’t recommend if you are super hungry. It also took about 20 minutes to get a table, but you can put your name on a wait list and they have free coffee outside which is a nice touch. The mains were decent… far from the best breakfast I’ve ever had but it was fine enough. Also heads up if you’re visiting from out of town/out of country it’s cash or venmo only.“

“The little cakes and drinks are seasonal but they're so cute and delicious. I went in August and got a mango and a rose cake and a lavender drink. This January there was an apple and a hazelnut cake. They also made us a mocha latte that was so chocolatey and delicious. “I was visiting Boston looking for a place to have breakfast and we found this place where they make everything fresh and Maria served us instantly. Very kindly, I took your order. I asked her what she recommended, why I couldn't decide which of the two to order. After having paid, she offered him a sample of a cheese stick that she had wanted to order, all the time with great kindness and a smile.María B, if you are the manager, let me tell you that you do a magnificent job, your good attitude is essential in a business, this company is very lucky to have you, on my next visit I will return, and it goes without saying that I give them 5 stars.“

“I was excited to try this bakery, and it didn't disappoint! At Friday around 8am there was no line outside and plenty of items on display. I ordered the almond croissant, and wow was it was amazing. Buttery and flaky with a generous, even layer of frangipane throughout. I really appreciate how they make sure to fill even the ends of the almond croissant with a liberal amount of filling (oftentimes, I've found that bakeries only place filling towards the middle of the croissant). There's no seating inside, but there are some benches outside if you want to enjoy your pastries immediately. I recommend toasting them at home first - it was delicious warmed up!“

“We've passed by this bakery quite a few times and weren't disappointed when finally getting to try it out! They serve a variety of Haitian savory and sweet treats which are bound to satisfy any craving. The interior is pretty small so definitely more of a grab-and-go spot, but felt clean and homey. We got a patty and a cake to share, both of which were pretty delicious! The patty took a bit of time to heat up, but other than that, service was pretty solid. The price wasn't too bad, albeit a bit on the pricier side, and overall, I wouldn't mind coming back to some of their other selections in the future. For a local bakery, definitely worth visiting and supporting!“

“I miss living close to Vinal! It's a cozy little women-owned spot with plenty of smiles and great vibes. The homemade English muffins are delicious, especially when ordered as a breakfast sandwich. “I have been to Japonaise for nearly 3 decades and all other locations they used to own. This little gem is operated by Takeo and his mom. Pure labor of love. Takeo works as primary baker. Everything here are delicious from breads, pastries, cakes, and some savory - Japanese delicacies. Takeo works very very long hours everyday making all of these. Wonderful folks. Asuki cream is my all time favorite.“

“Four cakes in 3 years from Weesh, all have exceeded expectations. Elyse is incredibly talented and wonderful to work with. She recently made my son the most incredible Cars themed cake for his birthday. The most unique part about Weesh is that she decorates with buttercream which tastes so much better than fondant! Buttery but light and flaky, cooked just right - understated perfection in a bag! I grew up in France, and this is honestly one of the best French pastries I have had in 28 years living in the US. “What an amazing new addition to this neighborhood! The savory cheese and spinach pastry was to die for. The raspberries babka was amazing, just sweet enough. The bread was light and airy. Figured I’d finally stop in when I was in the neighborhood and BOY! so pleasantly taken aback by the friendly staff, a super cute space, and delicious looking pastries to choose from. I often ordered the fancy croissants that had interesting flavors, seems like they always do at least one, but I also tried a cake slice (bar? tart?) I dont know. It was great. You don't need to order cakes ahead of time, as there were several on display and available when we went. Staff were friendly, plenty of street (metered) parking. Decent prices and the things we tried were delicious. The cookies and cream cake looked good and tasted great. The lobster tail was of decent size and the cream filling was excellent and not overly sweet or bland. I'd come here again for cakes and pastries.“

“I stopped in here with a friend after a long walk and I'm so glad we went here. We got there not too much before closing, but they were just as friendly and accommodating as if we got there first thing. They have a ton of options, including plenty for vegetarians and vegans. I got the breakfast burrito (as I am seemingly always craving one) and my friend got the caprese. I was tempted by the treats they had in the display case, but we opted just to get our sandwich/burrito. Our food came out quickly and was perfectly made. I really appreciated that the egg in my burrito was bodega-style which made it so much less messy to eat. My friend practically devoured her sandwich; she thought the maple balsamic was so tasty and the veggies and pesto were really fresh. She has food allergies and was really happy with how much they laid out what was and wasn't in the food. They had convenient parking and plenty of outdoor tables. I will definitely come back when I'm in town.“

The wedding cake they created far exceeded what we hoped for (and the cake was what I was most excited about outside marrying my person and being with loved ones!). “I love the people here; they carry a friendly, honest, warm attitude as flavorful as the pastries that are baked here. I have gotten a large oat milk latte and four pastries that are recommended by the staff. The latte was perfectly heated to combat the current Boston cold winds. The pastries were all not overpowering! I loved how light they were and how nicely they can be paired with a latte. (1) Blueberry muffin (2) Ham and cheese croissant (3) Cinnamon bun - a classic (4) Sugar Brioche bun I went to this inspired by my previous lab PI introducing the breakfast sandwich with light mayonnaise. The egg is so soft. I love the location and atmosphere of the cafe that is suitable for delightful conversations and studying with headphones.“

Compared to other places, I wouldn’t say Sultana’s makes the cut for my favorites, but it wasn’t bad.- Spinach feta quiche: The portion size is good, but the flavor was bland. I wasn’t able to finish it.- Cookies: The cookies weren’t overly sweet, which I liked. They were crumbly yet soft.- Fruit yogurt pastry: This was my favorite. I liked that they are bite-sized (though, this is also dangerous because you’ll end up eating a lot). The pastry was flaky, and the yogurt was sweet, which balanced the tartness of the fruits.- Caprice acma: I wasn’t a fan of this. The acma was too doughy. Maybe it would have tasted better warm.Happy to have tried a new place, but I probably wouldn’t come back.“

“Amazing Vegan Ice cream. I have a dairy allergy and I’ve tried a lot of different vegan desserts. These taste exactly like the regular desserts. I had the grasshopper pie with hot fudge and it was amazing. You can even buy toppings for at home use - I bought a jar of hot fudge! Also I love the take a drawing/poem and leave one. I want to do it next time! Would love to see a vegan ice cream flight! Or little ice cream sandwiches.“

As I was never a big fan of (overly) sweet delights, I've never bothered to try them despite hearing about it until recently at an event. “Had a great experience at this local coffee shop. Both of our drinks were absolutely delicious- got the iced strawberry matcha and a plain cold brew. Might be my new favorite cold brew in the area!
