“Sunbird is one of my favorite breakfast spots on the cape. The food is unique and wholesome. My favorites are the breakfast tacos and chai latte. I love the picnic tables and patio in the back - such a relaxing spot to enjoy quiet or a catch up with friends!“

“We happened to be in Orleans and decided to grab an early dinner at The Barley Neck. We started with a dozen raw oysters and a bottle of French Chardonnay. The oysters were so fresh and delicious we ordered a second dozen. My husband had a lobster pasta dish for his entree and I had a Thai style tuna steak. Both were delicious, but a special thumbs up for the tuna. It was without a doubt the BEST tuna steak I’ve ever had! We finished with the pineapple upside down cake special! O.M.G. Everything was consistently amazing. The service was attentive and welcoming! From beginning to end the experience as a whole was on point! 10 out of 10!“

My go to dinner is always the clam chowder and a plate of the best tuna sashimi ever!!
The bartenders are wonderful and I can always look forward to a very good “pour!”“

“We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary and couldn't have been happier with the service and hospitality shown. From the moment we arrived, we were cheerfully greeted and attended to. The food was amazing including some special treats sent out by the kitchen. We had an excellent experience. Michael, our waiter, was excellent and took great care of us.“

Extremely reasonable pricing for exceptional quality. Putting it into our rotation for date night. And did I mention price fixe menu every evening all evening ( except only till 6 on Saturday)?“

“I can’t comment on the rooms here as we joined them for their restaurant only, but I can say that the food, service and ambiance are all excellent. Ingredients are obviously of primary importance to the chef, and the dishes are very well prepared and presented. It is expensive and the clientele tends to be older, though not exclusively so. There is ample seating inside and out.

“8/6/21 Had breakfast here today. Got seated right away about 9-9:15am Waiter took order, BYO Breakfast sandwich with short stack, and 2 Scrambled eggs with sausage and home fries, and a popover. Saw other people come in after us, order, and be served. 🤔 After about 45 minutes, got up to ask where breakfast was; “it should be out soon” 🤷🏼‍♀️We we’re seriously contemplating getting up and leaving !! (Again, a breakfast sandwich, and 2 scrambled eggs!🤔) And it still wasn’t too busy in there. Our waiter didn’t come bring the food to the table, 2 other people did, never asked if things were ok. When he came to bring the bill, again never spoke to us, but, was talking to the table behind is. 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️ It came HIGHLY recommended, but, we weren’t fans. Oh, and also on my “breakfast sandwich”, I got charged separately for the English Muffin!! 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s listed in the description as coming on an English Muffin, so, again…. Why being charged extra?!!🤷🏼‍♀️🤔 The popover was totally burnt and cold , and sausages over cooked and burned. 2 people- $34, Thanks, but no thanks! Service wasn’t that great! And 45 minutes for a breakfast sandwich and 2 scrambled eggs?!!🤔 We aren’t tourists, we are local to Chatham, and was trying to keep it local, but, …….“

“Wow James Hackney has gotten inspired! We have been dining here for many many years. The room and the view have always brought us back. In the early years the food was exceptional but then had dropped off and the menu never changed much. Well this past Thursday the food was amazing! The lobster carbonara did not in anyway resemble the old version and thankfully so it was delicious! My husband had the halibut and said it was delicious I had the duck and it was amazing! Truly a wonderful dinner. My only negative is I did not like the new decor. I prefer the old beautiful decor/ chairs and tall flower arrangements. Service was exceptional!“

“Went for the first time to this local hidden gem. Had an absolutely delicious and beautiful meal. The staff was amazing from the greetings at the door to the wonderful server Ellie that did an amazing job making sure everything was perfect. The manager Karin also made sure we enjoyed our first visit while we were dining. I cannot recommend enough! An atmosphere like no where else. Food was delicious 😋“
