“My wife loves Italian food, but has a very select amount of things she will like. She is lovely and particular. So instead of going to a shiny glitzy hyper priced place I went looking for a hole in the wall type place that prided them selves on the details of the food not the details on the walls. I found that perfect place! It was exactly what I was looking for. Food was amazing service was very genuine and were the perfect compliment to the food and the experience. If your looking for the wow factor when you walk in the door, pay more for that elsewhere. If you want the wow factor when every bit its your tongue, this is your spot! Highly recommend. “The hubby wanted to take me to lunch for my upcoming birthday..for our age and for our wallet we always go to lunch vs dinner...we are now already home with the pups in our jammies..so great...now as a self proclaimed foodie, I have wanted to try the food at Alma Nove at the Hingham Shipyard for many years...I am also a huge Wahlbergers show fan...adored their mom Alma on the show and her pal Phyllis...the show is so much fun..binge it if you haven't seen it..anyway...the weather today didn't look too spectacular for a waterfront restaurant but the blue skies showed themselves as we were eating inside...such a terrific location..the shipyard has been revitalized in the last 15 years or so...lots of shopping and dining destinations including the original Wahlbergers Burger Joint...I love this stuff...Dave is like ok whatever...but our experience was lovely..I will say however that my husband and I don't quite fit in the Hingham vibe...and it has a vibe..no shade but it kind of carries an air about it...the people I mean...lol...but we ignored all that and for sure enjoyed lunch..even Dave said how delicious it all was...our server...nice..we typically enjoy banter with our servers...he wasn't about that...all business and he gave us excellent service..but I do have the sense that more than likely the staff has high hopes of gaining maybe a walk on role on Blood Bloods with Donnie or maybe a handshake from Marky Mark when he comes through from time to time...hope for them it happens..fingers crossed...😉..about the food...great bread..seemed homemade but simple..fresh..served with butter that had black specks on it..turns out it was a black salt..interesting..a few drafts for Dave from Mayflower Brewery in nearby Plymouth and I had a lovely Pinot Noir...bottled water on the table..big fan of that..I ordered the Pan Seared Shrimp and Scallops served over a sweet potato risotto , topped with haricot verts(fancy greenbeans), toasted marcona almonds and truffle honey and my date had the Butternut squash Tortellacci with pan seared chicken topped with sage brown butter sauce, pecorino romano, apple cider gastrique and fried sage and chives..wow..we are styling here in the Shipyard...every bite was spot on and a perfect serving for lunch..we enjoyed all of it..dessert..well.of course..they have an in house pastry chef so that's a given for me..chose the Banana Bourbon Bread Pudding..when he returned he also brought a small chocolate dessert..like cake in a jar with whipped cream and a candle...he said they heard someone was celebrating a bday...we never said it so all I can figure is I posted that we were there for my bday and had tagged the restaurant...great social media connection if that was the case...we shared them and they were fabulous...took some photos around the place..ran into folks the hubby knew from Hull..absolutely highly recommend Alma Nove..those that aren't familiar with the background. ..The famous Wahlberg Brothers Donnie and Mark have a brother Paul who is the chef and owner of Alma Nove..named for their precious mom Alma and Nove in Italian means nine..there were 9 Walhberg kids..5 stars from me for Alma Nove.. Open daily for lunch and dinner. .I believe they have live music on Sundays and in the nice weather their outside patio overlooks Hingham Bay...a must try❤️ Mark has famously said their brother Paul is the most talented in the family...I believe that is spot on...“

“Delicious menu items.. the pear salad is delicious and a fabulous starter to share. I had the swordfish over the lobster succotash and it was fantastic.. the succotash alone would be a delight! Highly recommend and we can’t wait to go back. We ended with the flourless chocolate cake and it was perfect“

We loved several pasta dishes- bolognese, sausage broccoli Rob, arancini, mussels - all delicious. Great cannolis and tasty ice creams rounded out the night. “Our high school sports team hosted an end of season banquet at Tutto Bene yesterday – and it was wonderful! The owner and his team could not have been more accommodating. The buffet options were delicious and they also handled two special diet requests. The private room is pretty and can hold up to 60. It was very comfortable for our group of 30 and 30 display area. Although we brought in our own floral arrangements, they had many life-like silk flower arrangements already available in the room.“

“La Stalla hosted a 50th wedding anniversary dinner for my parents for 50 people in June 2025. Michaela the event coordinator was fantastic and accommodating. We went with the buffet and the meatballs, arancini, chicken parm, haddock, and steak tips were excellent. The deserts of gelato and tiramisu were also fantastic. Everyone commented on how good the food was. The servers were extra accommodating in allowing me to use the television for a slide show. We even stayed past the planned time and the staff let us enjoy each other's company. I couldn't be happier with how the event went and will be coming in for dinner soon! - Sam T“

“This has to be the South Shore's best kept secret! My wife and I were looking to grab a quick meal the other day and stopped by Cannoli's on Whitman's Pond. I've been to the restaurant several time for various functions, but never for dinner. Vinny was wonderful - just the right attention - no hovering, but there when we needed anything. My wife had the chicken piccata and I had chicken marsala. Both were incredible! Plus, it's affordable - around $65 for the two of us (including two glasses of wine!) This will definitely become one of our go to places!“

“We stopped by with our whole family after a long day in town. Popped off the ferry and stopped by for dinner. The food was fantastic - came out quickly, was flavorful, and good portions. The kids meals were a hit, and the messes were a highlight!

But the service was worth its own review. The two young ladies manning the bar and the counter were working at double time, filling orders, getting waters, pouring beer. It was a great experience, the patio was great for the kids, and we’ll definitely be coming back!!“

“My husband and I stopped there for lunch while our dog was being groomed. We ordered sandwiches and my husband started to feel lightheaded. We were served and it had to ask for the check and take out containers. Our waitress was an angel from god. She brought the takeout containers and the check and also a bottle of cold water, an empty bag and extra napkins in case he was sick on our way home. We didn’t even get a chance to eat our food. “My first time ordering from them. The food was good, bacon cheeseburger and fries. On the website it says that you will get fries and coleslaw with any order, but when I got it there was no slaw. I called and the person on the line was very condescending, as if I was lying to get some free slaw. Long story short what I ordered was good, the fries were delicious and the burger hit the right spot. But didn't appreciate not getting what I was promised and treated like a looney when I ask for it.“

“First time at Mario’s Trattoria in North Easton and I was blown away! The guy who helped me was awesome super friendly, great attitude, and made an amazing steak & cheese. I asked for a certain sauce they didn’t have, and instead of saying no, he actually made it from scratch and even had me try it before putting it on my sandwich. That’s next-level customer service!
