“What an amazing place. In these times when we are still not comfortable dining indoors this place rocks. The chef behind these dishes knows a thing or two about bringing beer garden food to a totally new level. Thank you chef and staff in front of the house.“

“Asia Mei is easily one of the best Chefs in Boston. I've eaten here several times, but I can't believe that I haven't written a review before now! My husband and I had brunch at moonshine 152 last weekend and told friends about it. Next thing you know, the four of us were in there around noon time today having brunch again. We shared three starters, alongside sharing all four entrées and everything, I mean everything was to die for! Ms Asia herself delivered some of our plates and she is just as delightful as she is talented. Needless to say, dinner is amazing here as well. The vibe in the restaurant is so easy and you can tell that the staff get along very well together. What I can't believe is how this place wasn't fully packed today or last weekend even. Definitely a good amount of patrons, but I've had brunch at places that are hard to get into and left much less satisfied.“

“This place is amazing. Everything. We flew in and were so tired but it was my husbands bday so we had to get brunch… I’ve never had better pancakes, Benedict, avocado/salmon toast, bacon & egg sandwich… 5 stars for service, atmosphere and cuisine! We’ll be back and you should too!“

“My husband and I sat outside and had a lovely snack in the sun, away from most of the hustle & bustle that October brings to Salem. We thoroughly enjoyed the butternut squash hummus, falafel, and cauliflower & quinoa tabouleh but the real highlight for us was the apple cider! Holy. It was the best we had on our trip around New England. Not too sweet, served nice & hot, lightly spiced and so, so good! The service was wonderful as well! Best of luck to this crew, we wish you much success & hope to see you next fall!🍂☺️“

“Delicious and safe dining experience- the food was unbelievably fresh and creative. All servers went out of their way to be attentive and friendly- the mulled wine was the perfect beverage on this chilly afternoon! We brought blankets- and used them!“

“Had an amazing experience at June Bug! The vibe of the location is cute and unique. The food was amazing we got the verde pizza and the pepperoni pizza both were cooked perfectly and the kitchen sink salad was addicting. I loved that they had NA drink options. The waitstaff was really kind and friendly. I said on the reservation that I have an egg allergy and the hostess handed me a menu when I got there that marked down which items had eggs and which were safe for me to eat. NEVER HAS THAT HAPPENED FOR ME. Omg I was so excited and relieved since I hate having to ask a million questions about what the menu items are so this was so sweet and I really appreciated it. I wished all restaurants did this, I def will return!“

“An excellent dinner. Purple carrots! Lemon potatoes! Tahini mushroom with an egg! Blue fish! Good service. Guy ran down The block to return my bracelet which had fallen off! They give you the check in a Copy of the Constitution! Recommend but why are you not accessible! Such a contradiction of your stated philosophy. Should at least put it on your website with your apology“

“This place is one of the best places I’ve been to in a hot minute! The bottomless brunch and $4 mimosas had my best friend and I making immediate reservations! The staff and management are so sweet and truly care about the service they provide. This really is the place to go and if you haven’t yet you better get on it babe! Will be here once a month at least! Seriously obsessed! 🤍“

“We came here for Valentine’s Day and I can honestly say the overall experience couldn’t have been any better. Right when you walk in the host handed us a rose. We sat in the lounge and Sara took care of us. Not only did she deliver the perfect experience but she made a bad day turn into one of the best nights I’ve had in a while. It’s one thing to do your job and it’s another to take that extra step that isn’t required and that’s exactly what she did! From the looks of it, the tables around us were enjoying their time with her as much as we were. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful, someone definitely took their time creating the perfect design. We got the steak bites and cashew lettuce wraps, 10/10! I’ve gone in before and got the Mango Chicken which is another plate I can highly recommend. If you haven’t visited Moxies yet make sure you do!“

“My wife and I live close by and really love this place. Great food (including delicious daily specials), a very nice rotating selection of draft beers, and reasonably priced mocktails. The kitchen closes late, which is also a big plus. What we most love, however, is the atmosphere. The staff has always been very welcoming and nice to us. In fact, we had to evacuate our building quite late after a fire broke out a few weeks ago and they kindly offered to shelter us until we found somewhere to spend the night. No wonder why we keep coming back :)“

“Im not easily impressed by any means. The current chef, Chef Valentine from Black Cat Eatery went crazy. Every dish seemed like he was trying to let you know there is no competition.
The patties are made with multiple cultures in mind. Fusing the styles effortlessly. Then topped with an aioli sauce that brings it all together.
The special of the night was scallops. I believe they had a touch of jerk on top because it was a bit of spice. But nothing overbearing. Perfectly prepared and presented like a game winning trophy.
The spin on Ackee And Salt fish was next level. I usually am not a fan of ackee. I tend to just make saltfish with a side of bammy or fried dumplins. But turning it into some what of a puree is nothing short of genius. Ill definitely be stealing that idea.
Ill be back for sure. I need to try the Griyot, the Oxtail and the Suya Beef.
- next review ill include the ambiance because I was too focused on the food.“

“Asta delivers a thoughtful, technique-driven tasting menu grounded in seasonality and restraint, favoring intention over theatrics.
The food is precise and carefully composed. Dishes emphasize balance and progression rather than shock value, with flavors that unfold quietly and reward attention. Technique is evident throughout—clean execution, measured seasoning, and a clear editorial hand guiding the menu. While the experience rarely aims for dramatic highs, it maintains a consistent level of control that keeps the meal cohesive from start to finish.
Service is calm and knowledgeable, supporting the menu without overexplaining it. Pacing is steady, transitions are smooth, and the room feels managed with care. Hospitality here is understated, aligning with the restaurant’s thoughtful tone rather than competing with it.
The space reinforces that sensibility. Intimate and composed, it encourages focus on the plate and conversation at the table. Nothing distracts from the experience, and nothing feels unnecessary.
Asta earns four stars through discipline and clarity. It may not chase spectacle or grand statements, but it executes its vision with confidence and consistency—an experience defined by precision, balance, and quiet ambition.“

“Fantastic experience- first with the greeting from the host/mgr., then collaboratively between the mgr., our server, and the chef, accommodating my food allergies with an X marked menu of what I couldn't have and marking through ingredients of menu choices remaining as to how they'd accommodate. We ordered the broccolini, kale salad, and both ordered the grass-fed steak and brisket, and the chef hit it out of the park, still maintaining mouth watering taste, while adapting those without dairy & garlic. SO GOOD! Just make a reservation & GO!“

“Stopped in on a Thursday night with the family, no reservations, and waited about 35 minutes for a table. Totally worth it.
We ordered two pizzas, the burrata salad, and a charcuterie board, and everything hit the mark. The pizzas were perfectly cooked, great crust and flavor, the burrata was fresh and creamy, and the charcuterie board was exactly what you’d hope for—quality meats and cheeses done right.
Food came out quick, service was friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe was casual but lively.
Bottom line: food was mad good, everyone left happy, and I’d absolutely come back.“

“Fabulous evening. I made my reservation a month ago and was surprised when we were seated in a faraway corner on the lower level. We asked to move upstairs and the host gladly accommodated us. Our server was attentive and friendly and made great recommendations. Calamari was a little salty, but everything else was perfect! This is always my favorite pre-ballet spot. A nice espresso martini is just right to stay awake for the rest of the evening!“

“We went on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. There were so many options to choose from but my husband decided on a pizza from Lala’s Neapolitan-ish Pizza. The size of pizza for the price is good. I got the Cheesy Ramen from Ms. Clucks Deluxe. It was delicious!! My husband saw their chicken sandwich and already decided what he will be getting next time we go and we don't even live in the state (lol). It wasn't crowded at all at the time we went in. There were plenty of open seats (both bar top height and regular height tables). We can't wait to go back.“

“This restaurant is dope. The interior is warm and inviting. It’s modern and chic. Definitely an elevated hipster vibe. A chill spot to hang out after work or nice date night. The food is bomb! For apps, I’ve never had a Chinese-inspired arancini. These crispy delights are addicting with their crack sauce. The sauce is a must have on the arancini. The salad is light and refreshing. The Kokoda is a well made dish. I never had blue fin tuna until I came here. The combo with the fresh fish with the acidity from the lemon juice and smooth finish of coconut sauce - oof, worth a try. There’s also another surprise about the Kokoda - there’s something called sea grapes 🍇 and were bursting of flavor and freshness. A nice addition to the dish. I could go for seconds with the Kokoda because it’s a bit small for me. I wish they made it 2x bigger so it could be more shareable with a date or with company. The Maine Uni was surprisingly delicious 😋. I honestly thought it was too expensive but after having it, it was an amazing amuse bouche (the perfect bite). I couldn’t believe that small bite packed so much flavor and complexity. It was balanced and left me feeling happy. Totally worth it. For mains, the pork belly adobo melts in your mouth. So good! The mushroom raviolis are my favorite out of this menu. The salted duck egg sauce is what makes this dish memorable. I would definitely eat this again. The bitter melon ratatouille is not my favorite because it wasn’t seasoned enough for me. It felt as though it was missing salt. The veggies were perfectly roasted though, but it didn’t quite smack like the other dishes. The ribeye is good, but not my favorite. I might be biased because I’ve had better at other places. For desserts, the pandan sorbet is tasty. I’m not a fan of the pandan taste. It’s definitely an acquired taste, but I enjoyed it because I love avocados and bananas and in ice cream form? No brainer. I wished they had a version without the pandan flavoring. I’m curious as to how it would taste then. The matcha cheesecake is surprisingly well-balanced. Not too matcha where it’s overbearing. The matcha is subtle while the richness of the cheesecake smacks just right and not overly sugary. The late night menu - I only tried the Chicharrón taco 🌮. The combo of crispy pork belly and the acidity from the lime is perf. Nothing else to say. Surprisingly really filling. I probably can’t have more than 2 of these tacos and I’m a pretty big guy. The drinks - I love the names and how they have a play on words. The blood orange and the banana espresso are my favorite. These drinks have enough booze and not too much where it’s offensive. Blood orange is enjoyable to drink and the banana espresso is complex with a chocolate finish. Their nice, clean cocktails. Service was awesome! The servers were friendly and quick. They regularly checked in with my wife and me. I don’t think I even had to do the awkward “please help us” lean at all. They were there when you needed them! Amazing 5 star service! You want a culinary experience. This place won’t disappoint.“

“I miss when they had more seasonal selections. In the previous years I had beers that I didn't even know existed. They should definitely bring that back. Other than that, the place is clean. Had the whiskey pepper boneless wings and they were pretty good. I do like that they have notch Salem lager on tap. You don't find that everywhere“

“Second time here. The food we ordered was amazing yet again. I ordered the black peppered biscuits with sausage, eggs Benedict and gravy. The other two orders were the pancakes & NY strip steak with eggs Benedict. The service was outstanding — our server named “Indira” was incredibly sweet, attentive and had absolute perfect timing when it came to checking in on us and delivering the food and drinks. The hostess was kind and helpful. The ambiance was great too, not too quiet and not too loud. Kid friendly with crayons and coloring paper. Intimate setting good for casual dates but also great for groups. I really like to this place I'll definitely be back.“

“My bartender this night was Zack. He was intuitive and an informative bartender who brings atmosphere to those around him. The decor is colorful and inviting. Modern lighting, not to bright, but not too dark. Almost a space like atmosphere. Clean, tidy and top notch. The menu is inviting with many choices. Appetizers, meals and even desert...try the Ruben it is mouth watering! Also if Damian is working the kitchen that night your going to end up with the most flavorful meal. He is a master of his skills. I highly recommend the food, drinks and atmosphere.“

“This sports bar serves huge, delicious salads and an excellent selection of beers. We had a family sized taco platter that we all shared. The salads came with little cups of dressing, with barbecued chicken with a sesame sauce and the tuna salad with a spicy dressing. The regular salad was so big that none of us could finish. We ate at an off hour so we had the restaurant to ourselves, making the conversation \nLevel fine. Our waitress, Kaitlyn, was adorable and accommodating“

“Absolutely gorgeous place to have dinner! We went on a warm night, through a Boston heat wave, and the open doors and patio-style setup - in addition to the amazing food and service (my drinks never stayed empty for long, and there were more appetizers than I could sample) truly made the night feel like paradise.
If you're in downtown Boston/Cambridge and are looking for a relaxing environment with a high-quality atmosphere and excellent cuisine, this is definitely a place to put on your list.“

“I "cried" when my fave VEGAN or VEGETARIAN "GO-to" eat-in place closed all their locations around Boston. That was sadly & formerly GrainMaker .. (gone now) However DiG has grown on me as their deFACTO replacement for all FRESH VEGGIES and otherwise ALL FRESH MEAL VEGAN or VEGETERIAN eats and eat-in place! This is becoming my greatly reccomended "hidden vegan and veggie gem" in Boston with LOTS of locations. They have 3 locations thus far in Boston and 2 in Cambridge. I hav ONLY visited their downtown location thus far! Just as formerly with GrainMaker, DiG is as close to authentic home cooked! & genuinely HEALTHY! AND fresh meals that you can get to. Always fresh veggies, steamed & otherwise. --(they also serve a variety of proteins, as in variety of meats and fish, but i stay vegan. I have NEVER tried any of their meats or fish here.. ONLY their veggies and seasoned TOFU on occasion.. more oft than not, i do not even get their TOFU as a protein and opt to feast on JUST their steamed or boiled or baked veggies, bases. like rice and excellent mixed veggie salads sides!) Have been frequenting it for about 2 years since 2023 now, but held off on reviewing it until i was SURE of my experiences here. Decided to review it today bcs "it's time". I spoke to the very customer service oriented and responsibve supervisor here at this location, his name is DiJuan and was served by Adonis today and he was also very accommodating (after i explained i eat vegan) and on showing me my MANY fresh veggie choices, bases, proteins (including delish prepared Tofu) and PLENTY of heavenly veggie sides, all preped like you'd expect to find in a Thanksgiving grand day family meal. (AND they do this EVERY DAY!! ) This is HEALTHY eats and quite tasty and delish! See my posted pic w this review of my choice of eats today. In short, just today, i started with very little brown rice as my base and added 2 types of their fresh salad, Cannellini Beans w dill & greens along with their steamed or boiled Kale greens and added also a sweet potato that had been steamed & also steamed brocolli. I LUV eating fresh, healthy, TASTY and "homemade style" (as in NOT processed!!). I added their Garlic dressing to top it off. It came to something like 10+ bucks (B4 tax)! Unheard of !! for a BIG & FULLY portioned full veggie plate like this! BIG PORTION of a FULL PLATE! -- i declined, as usual to get any protein with my meal today, is why, STiLL i got a HUGE portioned plate! ( I normally HAVE2 order 2 - 3 separate orders and combine them, at HoneyGrow, anuther fave local "vegan" franchise in Boston, in order to get filled up if i'm only eating OMAD, as in One-meal-a-Day, in order to get full elsewhere usually!). They have a FAMILY (feeds4) option after 3pm every day that feeds 4-5 people (adults not kids) for like $43. QUITE A BARGAIN for something like this. AND it look like a Thankgiving day meal to top it off! --(formerly anuther non-vegan place "had this", now gone, called Boston Market. However they LOADED their side protions and even base meal with SO MUCH SALT, yuck! so that was ALL you could taste. THEY supposedly made home made, but found out NOT SO!!, theirs was loaded with processed sh*t, like their supposedly home-made mashed potatoes were the powder kind, loaded with pseudo milk and SALT, YUCK!!) NOT SO ! with this place.. DiG is 180 degrees fr tht.. This is truly GREAT tasting REAL and "home-prepped" veggies. They are winning me over from my other 2 "go-to's" "vegan-ish" franchises in Boston whcih have steadily been declining for various reasons, those being Bon-Me (their employees, over at Bon-Me for last 2-3 years it seems at ALL locations i have tried, simply do not undertsand nor speak english for the most part, their food WEN i can get it ordered the way i want it, is generally good, oft times its taken over 2 returned plates in order to get it prepared the way i orderd it.. v“

“Bambara has a special place in our hearts because it is where we gathered after our wedding in May. We have been here many times from dinner to brunch to happ hour local dollar oysters (everyday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.) and every time the service is amazing and the food is out of this world - curated, seasonal, and delicious! Big shout out to Jasmin the Manager and the amazing server Yvesse - such genuine care, and the awareness where they are available with a glance but not in the way of conversation or privacy. True hospitality. \n\nThe brunch menu is unique and seasonal, I ordered the French Toast with pumpkin custard and it was sweet and delicious! I've never had french toast with pumpkin custard and candied walnuts, now I will in the future! Yum. Chai latte is less sweet than expected but traditional and warm, latte is flavorful.\n\nThe evening before I had the scallops and I've never had a seasonally fall scallops dish, it was just the right amount of of squash with little pepitas to perfectly pair with a nicely pan seared dish of scallops with risotto. My partner also thinks that the Caesar Salad here is one of the best he has had, especially because of the homemade croutons. If you are a guest at The Marlowe, and want to make sure you try clam chowder in Boston, the chowder here is good, it is creamy but not too thick. 2 cups. Fresh. My partner also said the homemade fusilli pasta dish was delicious, and I had a bite and I agree. \n\nThank you so much to the Bambara team. A nice surprise as I was finishing my meal occurred when a team member named Jessica came by just to say it was so nice to see me back again and we talked about the last time I was here. \n\nJust an all around fabulous place, with a beautiful view and calming upscale environment, welcoming intimate dinners, family brunches, and everything in between.“
