“There's a special thing about the highway stretching the length of Saugus, MA. There's food from every chain or stand-alone kitchen you can find and yet one side of the highway has always held my attention more than the other. I've never eaten at a Jersey Mikes before. So my girlfriend and I finally went the other night after I saw a trending Instagram post with a guy explaining how to make the best combo sandwich on the menu and where to substitue for other ingredients or modify "Mike's Way" (several staple toppings). I've heard and tried so many of these posts or Top 10 lists on the best sandwiches in and around Boston. It's nothing new to me and I try not to pass on a chain because of its namesake. So we go in to try it, judge it, and move on with our evening. Unfortunately, things didn't go exactly as planned. The staff knew exactly what I was going for, the influencer sharing the secret sandwich, and even catered some finishing dipping sauces just before we sat down to dine in. The scene was set for a decent meal. So I took my first bite, sat with it for a moment and then looked over at her. We hardly spoke the rest of our meal. I'll leave you here to say that this sandwich has caused some problems for us. We're now struggling to decide which day and routine were breaking to squeeze in a weekly trip to Mike's. Yeah, it was that good.“
“After being unable to give a phone order for takeout at a snooty vegan place nearby that, snootily, doesn’t accept them, we were welcomed at Billy’s, even though they were surely busy when we called. When we arrived, we asked if they might have a bathroom we could use even though there was absolutely no apparent public restroom. Thing is, my friend is mostly blind and likes to drink coffee, meaning I always need to look for a place for her to go. Several employees went out of their way to accommodate us in their very tiny prep and kitchen spaces as we moved through to use their private restroom in the back. ?It was so very kind and thoughtful and if I could give them 10 stars I would! ?Simple consideration, like answering the phone to take an order and letting someone use the restroom even if it inconveniences their operations for a moment, demonstrates LOVE is still alive in the world and it can be found at Billys! OMG, and then there was the food!!! The omelettes were amazing, the home fries were delicious and when we wished we had gotten ketchup with our takeout, there it was in the bag, along with the extra napkins for my friend. And don’t get me started on the blueberry pancakes… Amazing!!!?The value was unbeatable and even as we were walking out the door, the love continued as I was carefully handed two coffees in a carrier and our paper bag of food as they could see I was leading my friend. Thoughtful from beginning to end. We will DEFINITELY be going back!?Thank you so much, Billy Bunch!!!“
“From classic Italian subs to creative specialty sandwiches, each bite is packed with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch on the go or settling in for a leisurely meal, Rondo's never disappoints. It's a must-visit destination for any sandwich lover in town!“
“SHIRLEY has been a bright light in my life since it opened a few doors down from me. Kat is a one woman show and cares deeply about where food comes from & her customers!! Her menu is based on fruits and veg that are in season, and rotates frequently. Whenever I come in to pick up an order, she always takes the time to point out new vegan items on the menu, tell me about her plans, and even chat for a few minutes, all while she's prepping orders. The bread is famous for a reason. It's versatile and so comforting! SHIRLEY is adventurous and delicious and is a great place to go for veg folks bringing along non - veg friends. happycow only allows 5 stars for full vegan/veg restaurants, so don't let the 4 stars fool you. And don't forget the pickles and your fun drink! Vegan Faves: - Tofu Banh Mi (my favorite sandwich) - Sweet potato black bean torta - Eggplant sesame sandwich - PICKLES!!! my fave pickles - in the spring there was this asparagus sandwich… yum - Chocolate chip cookies!!! - Tomato soup - Almost all (if not all) drinks are made w oat milk - Chocolate hazelnut spread Updated from previous review on 2024-02-15“
“The ultimate weekend destination, serving up an eclectic menu of brunch favorites with a creative twist. The pancakes are fluffy and come with a variety of unique toppings, while the avocado toast is elevated with the addition of poached eggs and spicy salsa. The lively atmosphere and friendly service make it a great spot to unwind with friends or family."“
“I got the Chopper Cheese and it was by far the best steak sandwich I’ve had in a long time. Rich flavor, great quality steak, and a perfectly toasted bun. And the hand cut chips were perfect. I only had a brief interaction but they seem very friendly and the shop is cool. I can’t wait to go back.“
“Happened upon the Square Deli when a friend were in Chelsea for a medical test. OMGOODNESS. It was amazing. The menu was huge and so were the sandwiches. We had a Reuben and Paisano with lotsa fresh ingredients including yummy fresh bread. Served with homemade chips and pickles. Enough for 2 meals or to split if we agreed on the sandwich, lol. The owner was SO nice and friendly and accommodating. We opted for take out containers for another meal and the chocolate chip (homemade & huge) again with a great balance of soft in the middle and crispy on edges. They have been working on their cookies for a while, so they say, I think it's by far the best cookie I have ever had! hopefully don't have to go back for medical tests but would definitely field trip for their pizza next which has won many awards.“
“The Best Sandwich Company definitely lives up to their reputation!!The shop is very clean! The owners are super friendlyThe sandwiches are made with fresh ingredients and they are HUGE!They have delicious homemade soup every day,And also have delightful salads for a healthier option.I will definitely be a regular at the Best sandwich company!!“
“The food stands test of time, I've been going here since I was a small child, .., earliest memories are from being 5 years old with my papa. Staff is attentive. Good variation is good. The mural is still intact and provides me comfort that although things evolve the mural is still thereKid-friendliness: Plenty of space for children and plenty of options for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Wide aisles and staff are willing to bring tray to table for elderly and handicap as well as families with small children. I've observed this personally“
“Their sauce is incredible. It’s sweet and amazing. Their sauce is on their pizzas that I highly recommend. It’s also served on the side with calzones that are delicious. Their steak & cheese sub with onions is also incredibly yummy. It’s a small business that recently opened up and I eat there nearly every day and sometimes twice a day. I rate the place 5stars. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ They have street parking as well as a driveway for parking.“
“Honestly still in shock. Just went here today for the first time. A great sandwich for under $15 AND in Kendall Square/Cambridge? Amazing.Update:I wrote this review halfway through my sandwich because it was so good and I needed people to know. Now that I'm done I'm left wanting more. Thanks for the great lunch!“
“this is the most amazing banh mi i've ever had !! I'm on a little holiday in boston from london and I've recently fallen in love with banh mi. this has taken the top spot though - the baguette had that perfect crunch and it was overflowing with the filling. such a reasonable price and the service was so fast and lovely :) highly recommend the lemongrass pork !“
“Another amazing crab salad sandwich from Syper Sub! I love this place so much. The food is great, guys are friendly, and it's clean. What more could you ask for. If you haven't eaten here before a little help. You order at the counter and if you are eating in they gave you your food, you go get your own drink and chips then pay after.“
“Clean dive bar with a creative menu and board games. If the food names don’t make you laugh like the “mancakes” meat infused pancakes, playing board games sure will! This is a great place for a kid-friendly brunch. The menu is mounted on the walls. Place your order at the kitchen window and choose a game.I got the mushrooms and spinach omelette with home fries and rye toast. We grabbed coffee from Fuel next door. Perfect family style brunch option!Kid-friendliness: They have board games and a straightforward food menu“
“Amazing deli sandwiches, but glad we got here early as the lines form for lunch super quick. The person who I was with and I both had pastrami sandwiches with half sour pickles. I couldn't believe how quiet the restaurant was. We were able to find a seat no problem and our sandwiches came out about 5-6 minutes after we ordered it. When I say that the pastrami melted in your mouth, it was just so flavorful and juicy. Where we live, we don't have places like this, so this was definitely a treat.“
“Visited this place on a sunday and was not disappointed! It runs like a well oiled machine. We got hot lobster rolls and the chowder. It was wonderful. The owner came out and made sure our sandwiches were on point, replacing one (fried fish) that was a little bit overcooked. He came back multiple times to make sure we all loved our food. This is a guy that really cares about his place. Definitely go here if you are visiting. Five stars definitely“
“Figaro's is the type of family run local business that makes a neighborhood a community. They really are a pillar of the Leather District (a tiny and overlooked section of downtown that is low-key the one of the best neighborhoods in the city). The sandwiches and salads are fantastic and huge. I haven't found a better meatball sub anywhere in Boston, and the "Whitey" is the best buffalo chicken wrap I've had. My favorite though is their homemade focaccia rolls, which they make every now and then as a special. If you see them on the special board, get it with whatever they are serving on it! They also do great steak and cheeses and italian subs, of many different varieties. Make sure you check this place out!“
“As always our meal at Dovetail was spot on. I had the snapper and my wife the scallops. Bother dishes were thoughtfully prepared, attractive and very tasty. We've been fans for years and have never been disappointed in our meals at Dovetail or their sister restaurant, Brewers Fork.“
“The food was unbelievable I got a 3 way roast beef and I can honestly say it was one of the best roast beef's in the Northshore. Service was good it was quick and the workers were nice. The only thing was it was expensive and they didn't give me as much beef as I would of liked.“
“If you want to pick up a sub that you'll definitely won't be able to finish it and it will be out of this world go there I highly recommend that you experience the same experience I had my first time only for it to get better 2024“
“OMG, The italian sub is full and I mean full of top quality meats. If you order a large you can not finish it in 1 sitting. I always thought New Deal in Revere set the bar on Italian subs but Anthonys takes the prize on this one. PS. I heard the eggplant parm sub is also the best you ever had! Worth the drive from any where!“
“I moved to SF and still have dreams of the Thorty's Black and Gold sandwich. I sincerely am considering moving back to Boston exclusively for this sandwich. Michael's Deli is a down to earth establishment that deserves all the best, I love this place and would consider being a brand ambassador if that was at all possible. Please go here immediately.“
“A family owned sandwich shop where the food is delicious, fresh and made with love. A wide variety to choose from and also has Richardson’s ice cream. Wonderful customer service. Definitely worth a try. The paninis are especially delicious. You’ll end up being a regular. Very reasonable prices.“
“This place is lights out ??? Rick makes everything himself right in front of u, and it's all SO good!!! Free parking, easy to get to, and u can get everything from French toast to breakfast burritos with Kielbasa! He's got a deep menu with anything u want, and I'm shocked I haven't come here sooner. This place is a hole-in-the-wall, so there's not tables for 4, only some bar stools, but man is it worth it! Couldn't recommend this place more.“
“Pickup for breakfast sandwiches - they’re HUGE! My partner got bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and I got the same but on an English muffin. Sandwiches were good - could use more bacon for such a big portion of egg. Cute lil place!“
“Cute location! Very very small though. Really only enough for two people sitting or three people standing at window. Service was great and the guys were wonderful. I had the breakfast crack sandwich and my friend had the caviar one... both delicious. The burrito looked amazing also.“
“I love going alone and with friends/family. The store is very welcoming and has amazing decor. Both the sandwich’s and ice cream are amazing in my experience. Prices are reasonable Very thankful to have such a lovely place in Reading :)Vegetarian options: I get a veggie sandwich, I don’t believe there is a vegetarian protein option. Person working there was very kind to make sure not to charge me for meat as the “make your own sandwich” option automatically adds a meat charge.“
“No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches - after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for ~$14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys). It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us!). The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it - it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am.“
“The Serranito sandwich is the best deli sandwich I’ve ever had. We were in Boston for 3 days with a full food itinerary, stopped in here on day one and had to come back a second time before we left. The sandwiches are big, easy to split between two people. Freshly sliced ham, incredible cheese, crispy toasted bread, garlic aioli…this is our favorite place we ate in Boston. A must eat!!!“
“Came here early in the morning, got quick, polite and friendly service. I got a classic breakfast sandwich with bacon - 8/10 recommend (not quite enough bacon for my taste). Also got a hot latte that I enjoyed. Staff was very nice and happy to give recommendations and advice.“
“Best steak & cheese in Boston period. They also have the best breakfast I love their there family owned and operated fasted friendly service. Excellent good you will have leftovers. I like that they have options for picky eaters (kids) well worth the money you spend an please tip them especially during the pandemic ? everything is always amazingly delicious ? only had a issue one time when they forgot to put my cheesy grits in the bag and gave me bean pie instead of bread pudding I called and they immediately made it right. I still wish they delivered because I would definitely eat there more often.Kid-friendliness: In my opinion yes. They don't put up with the rift raft that goes on in the area & I usually just ask them to make whatever my child wants if they have it they'll do it.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs easy access“
“You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu, but what sets Tony Lena's apart from every other sub shop is their bread: their sub rolls are the softest, freshest, and most delicious you'll ever come across. Add to that fresh meats, veggies and ingredients and you won't eat from any other sub shop again. Their pizza is yummy too, especially the pan style. We've been fans for over 30 years and 2 different locations.“
“My aunt gave me her leftover fries I didn’t even order from here-so I got them after she finished her meal and couldn’t finish the fries-and it was a small so that tells you how big a small is-and let me tell you they were the BEST fries I’ve ever had. Not a single one was overdone or inedible or even ugly-they were all crispy and delicious-that’s a difficult thing to achieve-crispy fries 30 min after leaving the counter! If their fries are good I can only assume the rest is too! My aunts been a customer for years I only wish she shred her fries with me a long time ago!“
“Super Cluckin' Sunday occurs once a month and requires you to pre-order a week in advance. The fried chicken sandwich of the month alternates between BBQ Ranch and OG Honey Mustard, and you can see the schedule on Cutty's website.I tried the OG Honey Mustard. I wasn't able to eat it until an hour later, but the chicken was still crispy and tasted fine re-toasted. The sesame brioche bun was soft and airy. The chicken was lightly peppered/seasoned and moist. The slaw and honey mustard sauce added a complementary sweetness. There was also Cabot sharp cheddar cheese, but I couldn’t really taste it.I don't think the amazingness of this sandwich amounts to the hype of being a once-a-month special, and $13.99 is a bit expensive. However, it was a delicious sandwich overall, and I would get it again.“
“We were hangry for sure -- so understand that anything would have been tasty at this point. But this simple pastrami and cheese sandwich felt like something my dad would prepare when I was a kid and hungry. Needless to say, I LOVED it.I would recommend this to literally anybody who loves the savory taste of pastrami.“
“This specific location was by far my favorite experience EVER! The staff was smiling from the moment my son and I walked into the building. We were greeted with positive attitudes, and taken care of as if we were the only customers there. Which by the way, the shop filled up immediately during a lunch rush and the vibe stayed 100% perfect. Richard went out of his way to show how easy it is to spread joy! I was super impressed with the fresh food and the joy that my son and I both received while watching this particular staff work! Thank you so much for making our day SUPER!!! We enjoyed the hospitality greatly!!! Thank you Richard, Andrew, Amie & MieKid-friendliness: We looooooove the staff!!! Especially Richard!!!!!“
“Best breakfast place in all of Massachusetts I'd say. So many different varieties of sandwhiches and subs I haven't tried any so far that I've disliked. My favorite menu items are the bacon bboy and the clogger. The sauce that comes with these sandwiches the jacobs river is actually fuckin fire I could prolly drink that shit . Definitely recommend. Workers are dawgs nice people. No complaints. Bussin“
“I got a flatbread chicken chipotle and a mango strawberry smoothie. Food is delicious, atmosphere right and this is the first place that has asked me if I'd like my smoothie made with WATER or MILK. Alot of places don't ask that. I will return again.“
“Gotta' love Papa Gino's !! Best of all is going to Main St. Stoneham location & enjoying warm, friendly, & efficient service every time I go...KUDOS!!I find It's unusual to have great customer experience in most dining chains, but the employees @Stoneham bring in a nice neighborhood feel!“
“We are visiting from Chicago and stumbled upon Al’s and wow so glad we did. We’ve been in town for (4) days and have visited Al’s twice. We will grab some to go sandwich’s before we depart as well. Can’t get enough of the fresh bread & toppings, quick and friendly service and the value is unbelievable! 10 inch sub, chips & drink for $13.00! Top notch sandwich place!“
“This is one of the finest Cheese steaks North of Philadelphia. My favorite being the fully loaded Philly Cheese steak. The fries are excellent as well. I can get what is called a Steak Bomb near me but they do not compare to Charlies's in the Manchester NH mall. It's well worth the 25 minute drive passing by all those Steak Bombs on the way.“
“Came here for a late breakfast, since it was close to our hotel. Can't say enough good things about the place. Prices were reasonable, especially for being in the heart of the city. Portions were generous and everything tasted great! I had the traditional breakfast with bacon and it came with a heaping pile of home fries, and a couple. nice slices of sourdough toast. My only complaint is that the bacon wasn't thickly sliced. My daughter had the Challah French toast and gave it two thumbs up!“
“I went there for dinner with my family. We ordered combo beef with onion rings . They were so juice tender and perfectly cooked. The size was more than generous . Onion rings were crispy and home made. The stuff was very friendly and welcoming. It’s the best place if you are looking for delicious food and nice environment.Highly recommended“
“Simply the best! The Little Blue Bakery was the talk of the party for my daughters Graduation Party. Not only is the food cart ridiculously charming, the food, drinks, and coffee were such a hit. I loved working with Hannah and didn’t realize all her treats are HOME MADE. I was so happy to have discovered this hidden gem and to introduce @thelittlebluebakery to Metro West.“
“I’ve lived all over the country to include in NYC, and can hands down say this is one of my favorite breakfast sandwich shops. The care that goes into the prep, the fresh off the griddle real egg, the perfect bite every time - and the gems that work there…just the best. This spot might be easy to overlook, but don’t!“
“Had a great time here! Food was delicious and service was kind, helpful, and timely. The big poutine was larger than I expected! Delicious and I definitely ate the whole thing ? My friends all loved what they got, everyone was satisfied, the crowd was pleased.“
“It's my offices favorite place for lunch for a reason!!! Absolutely the best subs downtown. We usually get small which is normal sized but if you want a whopping 16 inches go for the large for just $2 more. So reasonably priced and quick. Highly recommended getting your sandwich with the works (everything). Come and it may look empty but blink at noon and everyone and their mother shows up.“
“Great place to grab a coffee and a sandwich for breakfast or lunch. I got the mochachino and spicy ham and grilled cheese and they were both really good. The prices are great for a place in the city, usually I’m spending over $20 these days on a coffee and food but both were just under $13!“
“I live in Lynn, and work in the Airline industry. Buying lunch at work is way too expensive and way too little for the amount of money you spend. So when my granddaughter, JAH’NYAH introduced me to Super7, their open kitchen and cleanliness of the restaurant, coupled with their kindhearted servers got me! So I began to stock up on my Super 7 Salads ? and take one with me for each workday of the week! Not only are their salads tastier, they are much more affordable and I get more for my money! Plus, I LOVE THE FRESHNESS!!! And I recommend Super 7, wholeheartedly. Marcia H“
“Everyone has been raving about this place so while I was getting a sticker across the street I went in and got a small Italian. It is very hard to get a real Italian Sub anymore. This sandwich was amazing and their bread tasted very good. I ate half of it there and took the other half home. While I was eating the owner gave me a small piece of Sicilian pizza and a meatball to try out! They make their own meatballs. Both were great. I can't wait to go back and I will definitely be ordering take out from them.Parking: There are a few spots in front. The parking lot is behind the building.“
