“This was our second time dining at Ebi Sushi, and just like our first visit, everything was fantastic. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared every time. Our server, Amanda, was wonderful friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It’s service like hers that really adds to the experience. Jose, the owner, has truly outdone himself with this place. You can tell he takes great pride in what he’s built from the quality of the dishes to the amazing team that brings it all together. We’ll definitely be back again before the new location opens, and we’re looking forward to visiting that one as well. Ebi Sushi has become one of our favorite date night spots consistently great food, great people, and a great vibe. 🍣❤️“
“I ordered pick up from Ginger Exchange on a Friday night. The service was really great and friendly and the prices were fair. Also the menu selection is wide ranging so there will be something for everyone. This is also conveniently located on a stretch of highland where there are not many other restaurants, which is great. In terms of the food itself, would love to see a bit more depth of flavor in some of the dishes like the bibimbap and noodles!“

“Everything we had was tasty, and the prices weren't too crazy. The sashimi was great, edamame was tasty, and I liked the specialty roll we got, the Hawaii roll. The only caveat is the chicken teriyaki was a bit overcooked, but it was a good portion.“

“First-class dining right in Chestnut Hill. I’m so glad I discovered this place.
I visited during a tasting event, which offered a great opportunity to sample several dishes from across the menu. The fish was beautifully prepared and expertly seasoned throughout. The standout was the black cod, perfectly balancing savory richness with just the right touch of sweetness.
The shiromi ususukuri — Japanese white fish sashimi — was delicate and refreshing, with candied quinoa adding an unexpected and satisfying crunch. On the meat side, the pork belly bao bun was superb: melt-in-your-mouth pork tucked inside a pillowy, perfectly steamed bun.
Every dish felt thoughtful and polished without being fussy. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in the area. I can’t wait to come back.“

“Here’s a polished review you can post:
Tried Pokeworks at Quincy Market in Boston and honestly wish I found this place sooner! The market itself was super crowded and a bit overstimulating on a Saturday night, and the location was slightly hard to find because it was packed with people — but that’s definitely more about Quincy Market being busy than the restaurant itself.
I did a collect order and highly recommend doing that because my food was ready straight away with no waiting around. The portions were EXTREMELY generous and definitely good value for money. I got the poke salad bowl with tuna and prawns and added literally every topping possible (which was great because there were so many included at no extra cost). Everything tasted fresh and filling, and I was seriously impressed by how much food I got.
Left feeling very full and very satisfied. Would absolutely go back again!“

“Well, I finally made it to Mojo Sushi for a very special birthday dinner! I have been a Sushi aficionado for many decades, and have enjoyed Sushi from some of the best establishments from around the country, including those in Boston, New York, San Francisco… and let me just say, Mojo served me the BEST Sushi I’ve ever had! Really! The fish was as fresh as it could be, the available varieties, and the attention to detail of everything I was served, was second to none. The husband and wife team were extremely personable, the atmosphere was pleasant, quiet, and conducive to enjoying a great meal. And they even sang me Happy Birthday, while serving me a unique green tea cheesecake which was a tasty way to finish an incredible meal. I’d give them 6+ stars if I could, but suffice to say, I WILL be returning! Thank you for a truly memorable birthday meal!“

“Absolutely wonderful experience with Chef Mike Monaco at Akame Nigiri. Totally humble sushi master who has the in depth knowledge of fish crucial to being a top tier sushi guy. My wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary and it was exactly what we wanted— world class omakase but humble low key and very comfortable.
Chef Mike makes you feel at home with a buddy who just happens to deliver the tastiest morsels! We will be back, thanks again!!“

“Cozy spot and can have a long wait time, but it’s well worth it. Miso butter cod was one of the best things I’ve had in the city. Service was good, waiter explained everything and answered any questions we had. Definitely a spot I would return to Boston for.“

“The additional noodle option was very worth it (nearly doubles the amount) and the soup base for the Umami Ramen is delicately seasoned and has a rich taste. Crew was also extremely friendly and helpful, a flawless experience for the price point.“

“The food is OK-not bad, not great. The miso ramen broth is a little watery and salty at the same time (this ain’t the traditional long simmering bone broth based ramen soup) and the sliced pork (tonkatsu) was a bit tough. The lunch specials are a good price but the taste will make you wonder if it actually is. Tempura isnt the traditional Japanese batter, it’s got the premade thick layer you get from frozen pieces at the supermarket. Sushi rolls are as good as any other neighborhood sushi place. If you’re satisfied with general Asian food this is a decent spot to grab a casual meal, esp lunch. If you’re a discerning diner who can differentiate between real Japanese cuisine vs other styles, you’ll come away a little deflated. The service was great, servers were very nice. The music was really loud and started to grate on me after awhile as it repeated.“

“We were in town after a long drive and were craving great sushi. Sakana's staff were happy to seat us. Attentive, friendly, and quick! The specials are just the right amount of pieces to feel full without overdoing it. Very fresh, tasty fish. There's a sushi bar as well as the main tables. Seating might be limited during peak hours, but they will go the extra mile to help you. The Pinot Grigio on the drinks menu pairs well with the nigiri and sashimi. Walk back towards Harvard Square from here after a low-key date night or group dinner for a lovely atmosphere. ⭐“

“This is my favorite sushi place, bar none. The food is a great value given the quantity and quality, and the customer service couldn't be better. They recognize me when I come to pick up lunch despite only going about once a month, and the staff is always so friendly. I recommend it to all my coworkers, and always look forward to my lunches from there.“

“Genuinely don’t understand why this place is empty save for my family when we come in - The waiters are attentive, and the food and milk tea are both spectacular. They offer a lot more options than most sushi restaurants as well! Seems like a really lovely family business and I would definitely recommend.“

“What a cute place with fun food - the sushi is delish. The canned boba were huge hits. We ate the food so quickly we didn’t get pictures. Huge thumbs up for the crab Rangoon, skewers, and salmon sashimi and rolls! Oh and the shrimp poke bowl!“

“The place is a little bit out of the way and off the beaten path, but it is definitely worth a visit! It may not look like much from the outside, but once you enter it smells delicious and does not disappoint!
All of the food was delicious - we got to try some sushi, soups, and a variety of Thai dishes. We loved the wonton soup and curry dish we got the best, but there was nothing we tried that we did not like.“

“Don’t be fooled by the somewhat outdated interior and hole in the wall feel. The focus here is on the food!
Good quality fish, creative rolls, and efficient service. The price-to-value ratio can’t be beat. Tastes that much better with the reasonable prices. Note that you can tell the fish is not top-notch quality, but it hits all the right notes for an everyday sushi craving. Some rolls are more outstanding than others. My favorite so far was one that incorporated crunchy tempura bits into the minced tuna topping (forgot the name!).
We loved our recent visits so much that we’re getting platters from here for a holiday party. I’m pretty sure they’re going to be a hit.“

“Food was fantastic.
The reason I took off a star isn't a great reason because we didn't all for this up front, but they refused to give separate checks or split the check more than two ways (we asked for 3 since we couldn't get our own check), that was frustrating.“

“Great place to stop by. The staff are great and you can always find a food option that you'll like. If your just starting off, try the chicken katsu bento. You will have to wait for this meal, but its a great starting point. I find the meals are great to eat between work and school since I don't have much time to eat in most places.“

“2 floors. Walking in from Temple Street you have the option to dine upstairs with a limited menu and cocktail forward experience while listening to vinyl. If Sushi is what you came for, you’ll be brought downstairs. Both spaces are narrow giving you an Intimate dining/cocktail experience. Nostalgia on the walls of retro music and items. My experience was downstairs where I ordered the 5 Kan Mori, Hamachi Maki, Negi Toro and I can’t remember the name but it had Mackerel that was torched. All of it was excellent. The Hamachi Maki and Negi Toro comes with wasabi and soy already added to the rolls, however I asked for extra wasabi based on preference. Worth the experience.“

“Mind-Blowing Culinary Experience at UNI Dining at UNI is nothing short of extraordinary. Chef Take's talent is truly remarkable, turning every dish into a masterpiece. The sashimi is unbelievably fresh, each slice practically melts in your mouth, showcasing the incredible quality and craftsmanship that UNI is known for. One of the standout dishes was the Foie Gras sushi with pop rocks and strawberry. The combination of flavors and textures was nothing short of genius—a perfect balance of richness, sweetness, and a playful pop that left me in awe. It’s a daring creation that speaks to Chef Take’s innovative spirit. My personal favorite, though, has to be the Toro topped with caviar. The buttery, luxurious texture of the Toro paired with the briny burst of caviar is an experience I won't soon forget. It's the kind of sushi that dreams are made of. The service at UNI is also top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and makes you feel like a VIP from start to finish. They are well-versed in the menu and make excellent recommendations, ensuring that your dining experience is seamless and memorable. UNI is, without a doubt, a dining destination that should be on every food lover’s bucket list. Chef Take’s talent shines through in every dish, making it an unforgettable experience.“

“Great jazz atmosphere, the quartet definitely was the highlight of the night.
The food here is a cool fusion of Asian dishes. We got the Udon Gone Thai and the Tom Yum spaghetti. The spaghetti was delicious, with great flavor and spice profile. Fried seafood (shrimp, mussels, and calamari) were decent.
The udon dish was average. We were able to swap out the shrimp for fried chicken instead, but the dish came out quite underwhelming. First of all, we expected a Thai green curry dish to have a respectable amount of curry sauce to go with the noodles. What came out was almost a dry dish, with the udon noodles so lightly coated, it was like they had run out of sauce.. we asked if they could provide extra sauce, to which it would’ve costed another $5.. which blew our minds as it felt like they almost didn’t put any in the first place. The fried chicken didn’t have much seasoning or flavor either so the dish kind of felt lackluster.
We did get Gaga’s monster sushi roll which was quite good. The ingredients meshed well together and were overall a great experience to eat. The only downside is that the soy paper fell apart pretty easily when picking up with chopsticks.“
