“I didn’t realize what a Boston staple I stumbled upon with bova was until seeing all these reviews! We got two cannolis and a Boston cream donut. I don’t think I’ve ever had a donut so good in my life. The cannolis travelled 7 hours in a cooler and were still fresh and delicious once eaten.I must have lucked out when I was there because unlike other reviews, there was no line at all and it wasn’t busy. (Sunday morning, 10:30 am).It was a great and totally matches the hype!“

“Pastries are delicious! We got the hazelnut buttercream, the pistachio (forget the name), pain au chocolat, and 6 macarons. Totaled around $35, which is expected for high quality pastries. The pain au chocolat was perfectly flaky and had a good amount of chocolate. My 1.5 year old loved it too. My husband loved the pistachio pastry. It was very light and fluffy. I loved the hazelnut buttercream, the flavor was so delicate yet so rich. The macarons we got were tiramisu, peppermint, rose, earl grey, lavender, and chocolate. I've only tasted the peppermint but it was delicious. We went around 4:30pm so not as much to choose from, probably because they were closing soon, but we were happy with our selections. We'll be back for sure when we are in the area.“

“THEE best!! We stopped by after our visit to the Witch Museum and this gem is located across the street. We tried the Milky Way cookie with vanilla soft serve. FRICKIN delicious, the cookie was baked to perfection, warm and paired nicely with the ice cream. We also got the Carrot Cake, also FRICKIN delicious and baked to perfection. The center was filled with a nice dollop of vanilla frosting and tasted just like a slice of carrot cake. We devoured them and unfortunately didn't snap a photo. Big shoutout to Dylan and Amanda for the great service!!:) 10/10 highly recommend!!“

“Home of the pizza bagel and bagel dog; I've been eating these 2 iconic staples to this establishment since I was a little girl. I'm a loyal customer that drives 30 minutes once per week to give them my business. 2 reasons.... Support local businesses and they have a product that makes them unique to our community. “I recommend nothing after seeing how terribly they treated a customer this afternoon at the medford sq location. guy came in to pickup pre-ordered cake that was paid for. he was told they didn't have the cake. no apology, no offer deliver cake in the morning.....NOTHING. THE customer finally asked for the only 2 cakes left which were much smaller than cake ordered. he wanted happy birthday written on the cakes and was told it couldn't be done....not sure why. 30 minutes before closing time. the beaten down guy said...I'll take those 2 cakes in replace of the cake I ordered that you failed to make. I was literally floored when the kid behind counter said ...we can't just give you those cakes. you have to pay for them. this could have been handled so many ways better. and again, not one we are sorry. none of the stuff here is anything great...the guy should have went and got a cake at the grocery store. when businesses mistreat and disrespect their customers that's it for me. modern pastry is a small business....I've seen customers treated much better at wal.art and Costco. shame on modern pastry“

“The Northshore breakfast sandwich is purely addicting and has become my occasional goto. However, I do feel that they get their counter staff from the RMV reject pile. If I'm paying $18 for a really good breakfast sandwich and a very average cold brew, I do not think it's too much to ask for a smile and to be thanked for my business. I was standing with three other customers and we were all in agreement.“

“Went in for breakfast today and picked up the cake for my fiances birthday. They were super busy, but the staff got everyone through quickly. Coffee and breakfast sandwiches were tasty, loved the bagels. We cut the cake tonight, it was moist and delicious. I barely got a pic because my sweetie was so anxious to cut into it. Thank you!Second visit was just as amazing. I had the Hot Cubano and strawberry paczki. Highly recommend!“

“Quick service and yummy bagel! It was crowded but not too bad on a Saturday. The market is a great place to walk around. The bagels were a little hard and therefore tough to eat, wish they were a little fluffier. When I bit down the inside cream cheese all came out making it messy. Worth the mess, super fresh ingredients and good portion size. Loved this and want to come back to try more“

“Cute and homely bakery in the Italian part of Boston, just on the tip of North End. You will probably navigate to another bakery closeby, but this one is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Timings don’t show accurately on Google Maps since the lady at the counter doesn’t have access to update the timings, so if you’re in the area - just go and check it out. They are open overnight, bake their own bread, have madeleines, cookies, rugelach, shortbread, and some pastries and pizza too. Prices are very reasonable too. Must try their whole wheat baguette, it’s so fresh.“

“Quaint pretty cafe. Loved the interiors and the vibe. The food is authentic middleeastern food. They have huge variety of sweets. We got a pack of hummus to take home. The falafel was dry and OK. The turkish tea was nice and refreshing. We also tried a bunch of appetizers of which our favourite was the spicy potato sambusa.“

“Stopped by this cute shop needing a dose of caffeine after a long flight and fighting jet lag. The service was amazing and being from out of town the baristas were so kind to tell me what was in every beverage. Ended up ordering the Nutty Bee after they told me they make all their syrups in house. The beverage wasn't too sweet and really enjoyed the nutty flavor that came through What really impressed me was how friendly the shop owner was with all the customers and how she treats her employees. She seems to be very supportive and you can tell with all of the banners she enjoys making a positive difference in the community“

“Cute place, not as stylish as some city cafes, but that highlights that the focus is the food not the look. Every single food thing here is phenomenal. They're known for impeccable breads, though coincidentally the pastries are flawless, and the croissants aren't even too "bready". They rotate their selection-- we get about 12-14 items maybe once a month, and every single one is a knockout every time. Their coffee is also very good. The only improvement would be the service. I think there hasn't been a single time I've gone where they've actually gotten our large order right. Most recently, two bacon egg and cheeses were left off the receipt and just never made. This didn't detract from my rating though. The service is still kind and quick and the food quality more than makes up for it.“

“While in Boston, my friend took us to Tatte for breakfast. It was a short walk from their place.I ordered the Espresso Mocha Mousse, Tiramisu, Apple Berry Tea (not pictured), Turmeric & Honey Latte.Everything was delicious! Though it was very busy the time we went, so finding a table took a few.I went back to next day to order the Lamb Hash and Breakfast Sandwich to go. I also ordered 2 Matcha Lattes with Oatmilk and grabbed a 12oz bottle of Pear Juice.Dietary restrictions: They have milk substitutions.“

“We are tourists to Boston, a Spaniard and a Mexican couple, so obvs our level of Colombian knowledge isn't great. With that said, the place was very lively, and you can tell it's a staple to this neighborhood. Everyone came in for breakfast, which was quickly provided. Prices were very fair for the quality of items. The gals behind the counter are clearly hard workers. My husband ordered one of their tamales, and that thing could feed a family of 3. He really liked it but I couldn't get past the texture. We tried empanadas and like a cheese pastry, all very good. The ambiance was very simple but cafeteria style, which helps to meet new people. Seats were kind of uncomfortable though. Overall, we appreciated it.“

“We love and adore Sin City's sister restaurant, Nightshade Noodle Bar, so we were excited they opened up a cool, chic lunch place. Today we opted for the Cochon De Lait Po' boy and BBQ Chicken Banh Mi, I also treated the hubs to the Chocolate Pudding Cup. As we have come to expect from Nightshade, the flavors, texture, and ratio of filling to bread were spot on! Sizes were generous, and they satisfied that afternoon hunger! I loved the option for delivery so we could get back to work after chowing down! This is as much of a must-try as their sister!“
“My wife and I found this place in late 2022, and were about to order our 6th cake with them since. They are so above and beyond and very gracious. The cakes are like art work and they have such creativity. You live locally to the northshore and particularly the Beverly- Salem area.. this is the place to make your desserts.“
“If I'm disappointed in anything, it's that I didn't try Bono sooner. I live nearby and kept putting off trying it, but I'm so glad I did. Workers are very friendly and welcoming, and the food is incredible. They have some of the best pupusas I've ever had on the east coast, and all of their birria items are so delicious. Highly recommend!“

“My partner and I split a Boston cream doughnut and a chocolate chip cannoli here. The icing, dough and cream of the doughnut were all top-tier, and I would highly recommend trying it. The cannoli wasn't our favourite because we felt the ratio of cream to dough was a bit cream-dominant. It is a very heavy item for one person to eat with the overall size and amount of cream. I would go back, but I'd probably stick to items other than the cannolis.“

“The normal place I used to order was at the corner near the Chinatown Gate. I used to love spending my weekend mornings grabbing some pastries for breakfast and sitting at the park by the gate and enjoy the morning. Well, yesterday I found my normal place closed and replaced by something else. I walked by this place in my search for a new bakery. I'm so glad I found this place. It's essentially like the other bakery and has all my favorite pastries and more. I got very good service, but you have to understand it's very different than what people are used to. I've never been able to find banh bo as good as you can find in Chinatown. The banh bo at this place doesn't disappoint Spent about 30 dollars and got a full box of pastries for home. Still enjoying them with the family.“

“I had the pleasure of walking into Ziggys after trying to find fresh doughnuts other than your dunkin and honeydew processed ones that are everywhere. The prices are fantastic. The service was great. Even ended up sitting and having a chat even though it was going to be in and out. They do cash and card. The doughnuts were amazing. Will be there more often when time allows. It's so close to where I work on the water there in town.Parking: There are 2, 15 minute spot out front. Other than that other street parking is by permit but if you are just grabbing and going you should be fine.“

“Another good bakery in Chinatown. I tried the coconut cream bun, pineapple bun and chocolate swiss roll cake and they were all great. Staff was friendly and everything came out to less than $10. Did not try the meat filling buns as I prefer them when they are kept warm behind the counter. Otherwise great place for a sugary treat.“

“Great little Asian bakery in Chinatown. It was crowded on the day the Lunar New Year parade was happening, but was still able to grab a few items to try. I really liked the Molten Egg Yolk Bun and Mango Lychee Pudding. My kids enjoyed the Japanese-style cheesecake. We also got the Matcha cake (good but not exceptional). There are a ton of other options here, I'm told the tiramisu is very good too, and they have a range of mini moon cake flavors, so will be back to try other things!“
“My two favorite foods sound boring to some, but I can't help it -- I'm a savory food kind of person. I love nachos and I love BLTs, and it's amazing how many places have managed to not do these two things well. I have never been able to find a place that can make a good BLT, until now!I needed a quick lunch today and went here on a whim because it was close by. I saw they were closing soon, but there were people inside so I headed in. Sometimes small, local coffee shops can feel drafty or unkempt or just lifeless. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I'd want to sit there for hours. The temperature was just right, and the ambiance felt friendly and warm.I acknowledged that they were closing soon and asked if I could still order a sandwich. They replied in a way that felt welcoming, and not like I was imposing on them (which some places, 15 minutes prior to closing, would have). I ordered the BLT and used the restroom while I waited. Even the restroom was pleasant!I sat in one of the two window bays on a comfortable stool (again, perfect! sometimes they're way too high for a 4'10" to get up on, or off), with a complimentary cup of water (I love when cafes have serve yourself water). One of the servers brought my sandwich over and even on first glance I could tell it was going to be good. No wilted lettuce, no weird bread, perfect amount of mayo and bacon. It was the best BLT I've had at a restaurant, even better than I make at home. So, 5 stars for great ambiance, friendly, unrushed service, and a great BLT! I have no doubt that their other food is just as good.“

“love this place, been coming here since 2011. the pink cake is so sweet and delicious, so is the cheesecake bread especially when warm, and the fried sugary donut sticks with the filling in the middle. sorry I don't know the correct names for it all. recently tried their tiramisu cups and tamales- holy cow so delicious :) my boyfriend is in love with their tamales.everyone is friendly here too and I will always be a customer, I can tell they work hard!“

“The Salvadoran bread pudding is really tasty. It's caramelized, and has bananas, on top. Friends had hot chocolate and a milkshake. I had a cup of coffee. Then we had pupusas. I had made of corn flour and they had made of rice flour (a variety of pupusas I just learned about. I got the bean and cheese. To explain- it's basically a homemade stuffed tortilla, which comes with red sauce andd curtido (a pickled cabbage mix). I liked it a lot. The only thing was that the pupusas took a long time to come out. Prepare to wait- long prep time. A friend also got a Salvadoran soda I had never seen before. Pretty cool.“
