“We had a wonderful experience and have returned a few times. All of our dishes were tasty except for the ninebark salad. It was delicious although for the price they were extremely skimpy with the lettuce, and I finished my salad and watched everyone else enjoy their dishes. If you charge that price point for a salad I believe you should be generous with the foundation of the dish which is lettuce.“

The food was amazing we got the verde pizza and the pepperoni pizza both were cooked perfectly and the kitchen sink salad was addicting. I loved that they had NA drink options. The waitstaff was really kind and friendly. I said on the reservation that I have an egg allergy and the hostess handed me a menu when I got there that marked down which items had eggs and which were safe for me to eat. NEVER HAS THAT HAPPENED FOR ME. Omg I was so excited and relieved since I hate having to ask a million questions about what the menu items are so this was so sweet and I really appreciated it. “Cook in Needham is my favorite place for brunch every weekend. Dinner and Lunch here are also fantastic. The food is outstanding but what it makes more special is the service and kindness from the staff. Johnny is the absolute best and he has always taken great care of us and remembered us. I highly recommend Cook to anybody it is definitely worth it!“

“My wife and I live close by and really love this place. Great food (including delicious daily specials), a very nice rotating selection of draft beers, and reasonably priced mocktails. The kitchen closes late, which is also a big plus. What we most love, however, is the atmosphere. The staff has always been very welcoming and nice to us. In fact, we had to evacuate our building quite late after a fire broke out a few weeks ago and they kindly offered to shelter us until we found somewhere to spend the night. No wonder why we keep coming back :)“

“Our server was amazing. He was juggling a few tables and tending the bar, and somehow made it feel like we were the only table, and he had a smile the entire time. Serious multitasking at its best.

We did not research it. We just popped in on a frigid night with zero expectations. They exceeded them, and we will definitely plan a visit next time.

We had a few martinis, and everything was generous in portion. Wellfleet oysters, kale stew, scallop risotto, Brussels sprouts, and steak were all great.“

“Fantastic experience- first with the greeting from the host/mgr., then collaboratively between the mgr., our server, and the chef, accommodating my food allergies with an X marked menu of what I couldn't have and marking through ingredients of menu choices remaining as to how they'd accommodate. We ordered the broccolini, kale salad, and both ordered the grass-fed steak and brisket, and the chef hit it out of the park, still maintaining mouth watering taste, while adapting those without dairy & garlic. SO GOOD! Just make a reservation & GO!“

“This restaurant is dope. The interior is warm and inviting. It’s modern and chic. Definitely an elevated hipster vibe. A chill spot to hang out after work or nice date night. The food is bomb! For apps, I’ve never had a Chinese-inspired arancini. These crispy delights are addicting with their crack sauce. The sauce is a must have on the arancini. The salad is light and refreshing. The Kokoda is a well made dish. I never had blue fin tuna until I came here. The combo with the fresh fish with the acidity from the lemon juice and smooth finish of coconut sauce - oof, worth a try. There’s also another surprise about the Kokoda - there’s something called sea grapes 🍇 and were bursting of flavor and freshness. A nice addition to the dish. I could go for seconds with the Kokoda because it’s a bit small for me. I wish they made it 2x bigger so it could be more shareable with a date or with company. The Maine Uni was surprisingly delicious 😋. I honestly thought it was too expensive but after having it, it was an amazing amuse bouche (the perfect bite). I couldn’t believe that small bite packed so much flavor and complexity. It was balanced and left me feeling happy. Totally worth it. For mains, the pork belly adobo melts in your mouth. So good! The mushroom raviolis are my favorite out of this menu. The salted duck egg sauce is what makes this dish memorable. I would definitely eat this again. The bitter melon ratatouille is not my favorite because it wasn’t seasoned enough for me. It felt as though it was missing salt. The veggies were perfectly roasted though, but it didn’t quite smack like the other dishes. The ribeye is good, but not my favorite. I might be biased because I’ve had better at other places. For desserts, the pandan sorbet is tasty. I’m not a fan of the pandan taste. It’s definitely an acquired taste, but I enjoyed it because I love avocados and bananas and in ice cream form? No brainer. I wished they had a version without the pandan flavoring. I’m curious as to how it would taste then. The matcha cheesecake is surprisingly well-balanced. Not too matcha where it’s overbearing. The matcha is subtle while the richness of the cheesecake smacks just right and not overly sugary. The late night menu - I only tried the Chicharrón taco 🌮. The combo of crispy pork belly and the acidity from the lime is perf. Nothing else to say. Surprisingly really filling. I probably can’t have more than 2 of these tacos and I’m a pretty big guy. The drinks - I love the names and how they have a play on words. The blood orange and the banana espresso are my favorite. These drinks have enough booze and not too much where it’s offensive. Blood orange is enjoyable to drink and the banana espresso is complex with a chocolate finish. Their nice, clean cocktails. Service was awesome! The servers were friendly and quick. They regularly checked in with my wife and me. I don’t think I even had to do the awkward “please help us” lean at all. They were there when you needed them! Amazing 5 star service! You want a culinary experience. This place won’t disappoint.“

Poe-lenta at the Time Out Market in 401 Park is a place that really impressed me. The portions were exactly right, filling without being overwhelming, and the flavors came together beautifully. Every bite felt balanced and carefully prepared, turning a simple dish into something memorable.

The service was outstanding. My food was ready within two minutes, which is incredibly fast, and the staff were genuinely kind and attentive. They even took the time to show me photos of the different meals before I ordered, which made the whole process much easier and more enjoyable. That kind of personal touch made the visit feel special.

One thing to keep in mind is that they only accept card payments, no cash, but for me that was a small detail in an otherwise excellent experience.

Overall Poe-lenta is absolutely worth trying if you are visiting Time Out Market or spending time around Fenway. Between the perfectly portioned dishes, the rich flavors, and the welcoming staff, it is the kind of spot you want to return to again and again.“

The other two orders were the pancakes & NY strip steak with eggs Benedict. The service was outstanding — our server named “Indira” was incredibly sweet, attentive and had absolute perfect timing when it came to checking in on us and delivering the food and drinks. “We recently stayed in Newton for a mini vacation from Canada (visiting Boston). Every night of our stay we ate at this restaurant. I know, not overly adventurous but when the food is this good and the atmosphere is right, why bother looking? You won’t find better! We tried: - Pan seared chicken: AMAZING. - Fish and chips: when you live on the east coast it’s hard to get good fish and chips but these hit the mark! - Filet Mignon: Full of flavour and tender. - Steak Tips: Again, tender and full of flavour. - Risotto: Wonderfully strong mushroom flavour but yet offset with a field of flavours. - Scallops: Seared to perfection. - Short-rib Meatballs: Meat and cheese combo to die for. - Calamari: Another difficult one to get right and find fresh! This was one of my favourite with the dip and hot peppers. - Sirloin: Cooked to perfection, flavour was a hit and a good portion size, well worth the money. THE HOUSE SALAD: All I can say, EMAIL ME THE RECIPE FOR THE DRESSING!! This was the best item for me on the menu. Fresh, simple and full of flavour. I got it with every meal. So to recap: 10/10“
