But Emily, the manager, and her father John, the owner, did something I truly didn't expect — they made it work anyway. They went out of their way to make sure we still got everything we needed, and on Easter Sunday of all days. That kind of customer care is rare. It would have been so easy for them to simply say "sorry, we're closed" — but instead they showed up for us in a way we won't forget. And the food? Absolutely delicious. Our pies were fresh and perfectly made, and the carrot birthday cake — a special request from the birthday boy himself — was absolutely stunning. Everything tasted like it was baked with real love and care, and it made our Easter celebration (and birthday!) that much more special. If you're looking for a bakery that not only delivers incredible baked goods but also treats their customers like family, look no further. Emily and John, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. During the planning process, we were having a difficult time getting responses from vendors due to being out of town, but they stood out immediately by being responsive, timely, and easy to communicate with. They not only answered quickly, but also took the time to understand our vision and executed a unique cake design that felt personal to us. “Stopped at Raymundo's for the first time today and LOVED the food. The family got pupusas and I had the lengua torta. The pupusas were the best we have had in a while, stuffed to the edges. The torta was exactly what I needed, amazing portion and the bread was soft and toasted perfectly.

The only critique is that on a hot day the dining room (window high top) was too hot to dine in, we took it to the car.“

“This place has strong sentimental value for me. We got our wedding cake here and they don’t ( or didn’t at the time ) make wedding cakes. We were young and poor and they made us three cakes which we put on platters to make into a wedding cake. We had so much left over we were eating it until Thanksgiving (got married at the end of August). We had no money and were eating pancakes, kraft Mac and cheese, chicken loaf sandwiches, chicken pucks and ramen to survive. But our freezer was filled with the leftover cake and I just loved it.
Circle back 30 some odd years later and my wife and I are walking through Chinatown and we come across this place again (we had moved away from the area after we got married). We go inside, the cake is not on the menu, but we tell them what we want (peach cake) and they make it for us right there. We bring it home and eat it the whole cake in one sitting.
Now whenever we are in Chinatown, we stop here before we go home and they make the cake for us ( though we don’t eat the whole thing in one sitting anymore).❤️“

The menu still offers a wide variety of options, and the food remains just as delicious and affordable as before. The highlights for me are definitely the pennywort drink and the mung bean milk—both are refreshing and a must-try.“

Just a hop in from right off the main streets, they had a really nice selection of coffee, teas, pastries, soups, salads, etc. It’s very cozy inside with tables, chairs and low lighting. It was decently quiet inside, and the staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions. We got two pistachio lattes and they were incredibly good. Not too heavy on flavoring and they didn’t taste artificial. Overall, a nice stop for a bite and drink.“

“These bagels were amazing. I had the lox bagel, my son had the cheddar bagel with cream cheese, my husband had the cream cheese with heirloom tomato, and my daughter had the salted rosemary with cream cheese. Every single one was delicious.

The flavor reminded me of Apollo Bagels in New York truly some of the best bagels I’ve had in Boston. The coffee deserves a mention too; it was excellent. The team was incredibly sweet, there’s cute seating out front, and the neighborhood is lovely.

“Pretty busy, even on a rainy day. Pastry selection was nice and really liked the vibe. Not too much seating but was able to snag a spot as people were coming and going. No laptop policy.

First with my grandmother as a child, whenever she was in a rage against American food, she would make my grandpa drive an hour in Boston traffic just to grab some buns. Now I take the train in regularly with my 6 kids in for buns for the last 14 years. It’s their favorite place in Boston.

It’s wildly consistent. Cash only, cheap, delicious, and the ladies working their are as fast and no-nonsense as they were 30 years ago.“

“We were on a trip and found this Cafe during our walk through the historic places in Boston. It offers delicious pastries, various breakfast sandwiches and lots of options for coffee and tea. Their orange juice is spectacular and the closest one to a real orange juice I've ever had. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The dining area is a little small for the number of the customers but there are also chairs and tables outside. The Croissant breakfast sandwich and the Honey Halva Latte we had were so delicious.
