“Sadly I went to try out this establishment today and was welcome with flies flying around all the food. Not a good experience when you first walk into the door. Unfortunately because of all the flies that was flying and landing on the food that you service people turned me completely off. Maybe I will try this place again and hopefully next time they won't have flies flying around all the food“

“I actually ordered DoorDash and I was so impressed. The food was sealed perfectly so I wasn’t worried about my food being tampered with especially with everything that’s going on today. Mac & cheese taste like something…Your grandmother would make the cabbage was seasoned well I had grilled catfish and it was so tender and flavorful. I got it with the BOSS sauce that is a A1 recommend! Definitely have a new customer out of me and I called in too compliment, Chef D was the chef, kudos great job. Keep up the good work!!“

“This place was recommended and I am so glad we tried it. Healthy food. So many options. I ordered the Jerk Mango Salad. I didn’t change a thing and wouldn’t. Perfect kick without being too spicy. Mango salsa was the best I’ve had. We also ordered the BBQ bowl. I wouldn’t change a thing in it. Try the Red Rice. It’s really good. Staff was quick, explained the menu and ordering process and also offered a taste of you weren’t sure you’d like something. 10/10. I’ll be back again.“

“Love this black woman owned gem of a rare jewel in our neighborhood. As a Native Washingtonian - the nostalgia I feel when eating or lounging at Addies’ is amazing. Huge kudos to my favorite Chef Rudy aka Smiley. I work from home & running to grab my breakfast before getting stuck on meetings all day is a blessing to me because Chef Rudy takes great care of me.“

“We had been looking forward to visiting and supporting Miss Toya’s Southern Kitchen. My catfish was good, the greens were great and my husband’s chicken was a little too hard; this is consistent with other reviews we’ve seen about it. What we found disconcerting was the automatic gratuity of 20 percent added to our check. The service was fine, but not the 20 percent added to our check. Once we questioned this, the server asked if we wanted her to take it off. This led us to believe that the server may have arbitrarily added the tip. Whatever the case, an automatic tip should never be added to a party of two. It was either she sized us up as less-than-generous tippers or she overestimated the service, which was adequate, but not exceptional. My advice, whether this is arbitrary or intentional, is to leave the tip to the guest. Sadly, at the end of a meal, it was THIS practice that left a bitter taste in our mouths.“

“I recently went here to get a last second small catering order of yams, mac and cheese, and the cornbread for a baby shower. First off, the staff could not have been more accommodating. They helped me place the order and bring the order to my car. Everyone that had the food loved it and couldn't stop asking where we catered from. I will definitely come back to get my own food, and recommend it to anyone looking for soul food catering. Shout-out to Vernon, he helped make the process very smooth and has great customer service skills.“

“my wife is from South Carolina and she's a top-notch cook but this place was something different. the different blends of the spices and ingredients that they add to their food was breathtaking and I'll definitely eat there again when I come back. you have my heart and belly😋“

“Order rib sandwich. The ribs were tuff and not season Order rib and a smothered pork chop dinner. The ribs were tuff and pork chops were fried put into gravy. The greens, potato salad were good. Corn bread did not taste good, crumbled up.“

The only thing I wish is that they showcased or identified what food is in what area on the serving line as they have all the food covered. You can't really tell what is on the menu for what looks good to you in that moment.“
