“Once you try one of the Sunshine Store's sandwiches, you will wonder why it took so long to try one! 😊 My husband and father in law introduced me to this hidden pleasure the first time I visited the area. We started with breakfast (tasting the local culinary treasure of scrapple), then I was introduced to their burgers on the same trip, and I was surprised that everything is cooked to order. I have not found any burger yet that is close to comparison!! My husband's family has made this a regular stop for sandwiches over several decades and generations. My father in law (nearby farmer/owner of Greenstone Custom Farming) has eaten there for several decades along with feeding his crew from this hidden gem, this has been a favorite of my husband's since he was old enough to eat there, and now it is a favorite place for our children to eat with grandpa. The store is small and with limited seating, it would be best to order the food to go or if you are eating alone you can sit at the counter and watch your food be prepared. A must try in the area and definitely worth the drive through the beautiful countryside!“

“The menu is seasonal so there is aways something to try. The Parker house rolls and amazing variety and low price of oysters for happy hour may be things of the past, but the food and service are consistently superior at Clyde's. We've been eating here for over a decade now and continue to enjoy dining it.“

He was professional, very hospitable, funny, he ensured I was satisfied with how my food looked as I ordered to go. He ensured the quality of the food was fresh by informing me that my potatoes and onions were peeled and cut the morning of. I see why and how he has been in business for over 40 years! “I have been to this place about 10 years ago by one of my golf members who was an army veteran. My back ground is culinary/hospitality industry and was so impressed by service and also food quality.. His family and my family celebrated our special occasions every year. Now, we are coming back here again on August 27th to celebrate his 68th wedding anniversary and their 90years birthday also. This is his wife's pick and I and he are excited for next week event.“

“My family and I celebrated my son’s 21st birthday here, and it was the best dining experience I’ve ever had from the atmosphere to the food. Our server’s name was Niko. He was soooooo attentive, and professional , and friendly, I can go on. He suggested certain foods, and he was right on point because the food was amazing. We had an outside table with great views. We will definitely go back again on the weekends when Niko works and ask to be seated in his section.“

Everything else was great, I had a omlette and it was delicious and very well prepared. Our only complaint was the A/C, it was pumping, luckily I had (2) light jackets in my car. I noticed the couple next to us went to his car and got an sweatshirt for his Mom. It was just a bit cold, but I would deal with that versus A/C is broken. I would go back as this was my first visit.“

“I have been going to Tom and Rays since the old location. What makes them stand out is the cost conscience menu, fresh tasting food, and a staff mostly local high school kids that are professional with can do attitude. Right now I’m raving about something as simple as stewed tomatoes as a complementary side dish. Their breakfast foods including creamed chipped beef fresh. Their lunch and dinner foods bring you back, especially the open faced beef sandwich with mash potatoes and gravy, to a simpler time. Check out their menu and ask them about their pies.“

We’ve been to Bench so many times and we were always very happy with the food and service . This is a hidden gem in Rio. While other restaurants are crowded and noisy, this one has a classy and quiet atmosphere. The food’s delicious and flavorful. We appreciate the chef and the hosts- they get busy with a small staff but they are still very hospitable and attentive. Our server last night was Alie and I’m sorry I didn’t get the other lady’s name . Keep up the excellent work . We will surely be back .“

“Your sign is blocked by trees. As first time visitors we drove right past even though gps said we’d arrived. Had to call from the car to get directions. Also need a sign for location of your handicapped ramp. It too is hidden from view.“
