If I ever get my signature bowl onto the menu, it will be:
Arugula, rice, falafel, seasonal vegetables, tabouleh, olives, and cranberries with tzatziki dressing.“

“At first we were a little surprised to be eating in a Days Inn -- and Al-Madani is unassuming atmospherically. However, the food was flavorful and delicious (aloo palak, lamb tikka kabobs, garlic naan), and the staff were wonderfully kind and caring. “During my weekend stay in Washington DC I was able to visit the New York Grill twice.

Both times the food was IMMACULATE! I highly recommend the Lamb Gyro, and the fries were very good too!

Even with roughly a 20 Minute walk back to my hotel, the food comes out hot, and well wrapped, allowing the heat to stay within and keep your food warm for quite a while!

Overall, this was my favorite place we ate over the course of 3 days, out of about a dozen spots.

I DEFINITELY Recommend the New York Grill! Please patronize this great establishment, hell go 3 times a day if your budget allows!

“I went here with my friend and he gave me a free Pepsi! Really nice and friendly atmosphere from the other people waiting there too. “After traveling from Texas and being tired and hungry we found this place on Google. The overall experience was absolutely amazing. The owner was wonderful and very helpful, he went out of his way to help us with the menu.

Our food was so full of flavor and authentic. Our taste buds were dancing with joy. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy our food with high expectations and not be disappointed. With young kids who can be picky, they loved their food and asked to good back again.

The food was packaged wonderfully once we return to our hotel the food and everything was in place and fresh. This is a virtual kitchen so there is no seating area but your food is prepared for take away and it was not all over the place. They really take their time to make sure your food is prepared and package well for your enjoyment.

“Before trying Sacrificial Lamb, I recall walking past the restaurant many times while they had a banner up touting their naan as the best in the city. Hard to believe, given the size of the place, and abundance of quality Indian cuisine in the DMV. Over a period of several years and many dishes, well beyond the best Naan, I’m a believer. They have all the essential dishes you’d expect and they’re tasty but the curry dishes are exceptional. Whoever is making the sauces has serious skills. Mackni, Korma, masala, vindaloo, all delicious with abundant portions and quality components. Rich flavorful sauces that don’t separate and seasoning that is layered and surprising. Excellent vegetarian dishes too. Aloo gobi was a favorite. Even this basic dish had a bit of a sauce to it. They also catered to my dietary restrictions without issue. One recommendation— order later in the day. It seems the sauces and seasonings only get more enjoyable as the day evolves. Take out is done well, with sizable portions and seemingly no lost quality. Don’t miss the naan. It’s extraordinary and was always delivered warm. They also do naan wraps which are exceptional late night. Dip a wrap in the Mackni sauce, so decadent. I recently moved and have not been able to replace this little gem.“

“Granted I haven't been to their restaurant locations, their pop-up location that features their food truck in Forestville Plaza is where my mom was blessed to bring some of their food home for the family to try. Quick story, one weekend I was driving by with her in my vehicle and suddenly we smelled a delicious aroma as well as saw smoke coming from the grill. She noted the place in her mind this weekend she was able to venture there. She relayed that they had a good amount of customers ordering food but the personnel was so patient, kind, and helpful. She brought home some grilled chicken, lamb, jollof rice, macaroni and cheese, and green beans. Majority of the meat and jollof rice was in one container, but altogether enough to feed a family of three people with huge appetites. Everything was delicious, but my favorite was their grilled chicken! It paired nicely with their mustard sauces, especially the hot mustard sauce! They also have The most unique and delicious joloff rice I've ever tasted in my life! The taste of Senegal cannot be compared! I've tried other West African food, but Senegalese food stands out like no other! Originally, Ivorian food was my favorite, but now I can add Senegalese food to my new list of favorite West African food! You have to try it - you won't regret it! I look forward to going to one of their restaurant locations!“

“I come to this Mezeh at least 3 times a week. So much so that the employees recognize me when I come in. I am amazed to see these one star ratings. As many times as I have come in, they have been nothing but gracious and provide outstanding customer service. I read some of these one star ratings and with the exception of the delivery for the corporate affair, I question some.

As a native Ward 8 member I was elated to see Mezeh and other corporate chains coming into my community. But I also realized that there would be challenges (which is why it is so hard to keep such businesses here). I’m gone say it… some of my fellow Anacostians just are not respectful. I have seen some come in the store and because they have to pay extra for extra meat or something more that they want, they go off. I one time had to say something because it was so innapropriate and unwarranted. It’s like they try to bully the workers because they are not black.

I hate to say this but it happens too much not in just this store but others and I’m tired of seeing establishments shut down because employees don’t want to be threatened or harmed. Walmart pulled out from being over here because they were going to have to pay too much for security and the Giant has threatened to pull out as well. IHOP is closed, the 7/11 on Barry Ave closed, Subway use to stay open 24 hours but had to stop because of this craziness. We can’t keep nothing over here and it’s not the establishment, it’s us not knowing how to receive customer service. I know these are hard times but damn.

This is a great store and I have only been in Starbucks and The Smoothie store and they are trying to make it in a tough area. Good Luck yall cause I wouldn’t put up with some of this bull. Peace“

Her customer service was top notch, very nice and preps the food in a neat and well paced manner. The whole team was also very attentive and lots of warm smiles and laughter. Reason why because our order took over 2 hours to get here and unfortunately they didn't even bring us 1 of the pizza we actually ordered. We got 2 random meat covered pizzas and all we ordered was extra cheese & chicken. The extra pizza was nice but I'm still not happy with getting 2 pizzas I can't eat. Wings are good but this was a terrible experience. Glad I ordered them since it was the only think I could eat from a $50 order. I think what we originally ordered would've been good and I could've eaten this one if not for the other meats. Ordered through slice.“

“Food very solid. I had the classic bowl which had the perfect amount of spice and was super filling for the price. Service was so so. Employees just ignored me for first 5 minutes without acknowledgement. Son made a make your own bowl and didn't inform about upcharge for steak in it. Atmosphere terrible - no ac or bathroom and super cramped. We took food to go but it wasn't packaged with lids on tightly and a bunch spilled out.

Would I try again, definitely based on the food. That said obviously needs better management based on facilities and staff.“
