“Dined with my wife and kids and we ordered a variety of dishes because of varying tastes and picky eaters in my family. EVERY SINGLE DISH was incredibly delicious. From the pan-fried dumplings to the chicken fried rice to the Kung Pao Chicken to the Mongolian Beef, everything was cooked to perfection with generous portion sizes. Highest of recommendations. Plus, our server was very professional. Present when we needed her, but not at all overbearing.“

“Royal Taj is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, like our 20th Wedding Anniversary last week. It never fails to deliver excellence. Because it was a very special dinner, we decided to try something different. So my wife ordered the Lobster Malabar and I ordered the Grilled Halibut. Both were very good, especially the Halibut which was covered in an outstanding Corn Relish. To top off the evening our excellent server, Joshi, brought us a slice of very tasty cheesecake with a lit candle on top. As usual we cannot rave loud and often enough about Royal Taj and it is all due to the GM Binda, who is very friendly, charismatic and truly sets the tone of excellence at Royal Taj.“

I ordered the red beans and rice, cabbage and a meal with curry spiced lentils over basmati rice, collard greens and sweet potatoes. “We were tucked away in a place where belly dancer danced only once. The main larger area is where the dancer mostly rotated between tables. The food is just mediocre. Mostly lamb meat based dishes. The waitress did excellent job. The hostess (despite of us coming on time for our reservation) made us wait for 15 minutes before sitting us.“

“Fantastic experience! Came here for lunch and ordered the London Broil sandwich and the Italian Picante, as well as a whole baguette, the tomato saffron soup, and a brownie.

The London broil was very juicy and tasty! The Italian was also very flavorful with slight spice. Pricing was very good for the quality of the food, the Italian was around $10 and the London broil around $12.

The baguette was so fresh and delicious!

We were in the area from Boston just for the night and learned of Xenia through our hotels concierge. It was amazing and probably one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was outstanding and prepared beautifully. We had the Spanikopita, Greek salads, shrimp saganaki, and lamb riblets. All very tasty and expertly prepared. What really did it though was the on point service offered by Mary (Maris). Her efficiency, attention to details, thoughtful presentation of the menu, was a 15 out of 10! She is a super star! We were delightfully surprised by the restaurant’s generous hospitality when they sent us a dessert sampler compliments of the house because we were out of state first timers. Let me preface that I had had a crappy day, and decided to come for their epic pizza - I sat up top, away from the hubbub, and each bartender checked in on me. “This used to be my favorite. I came in last Friday bought a 32 oz smoothie. I do love the smoothies and chocolate covered almonds. They no longer have styrofoam cups which is a great disappointment. B4 you even get 20 mins away anything is melted in those plastic cups. I even tried to refreeze it like I always do. But it was mostly sweet juice by the time I got home. Which means I wasted my money. I need a cup that works please smoothie king! I still recommend because this bothers me and may not bother others.“

“Ice cream is always a hit here!! The seasonal and permanent flavors are all worth trying. My longtime favorite is the Salted caramel, but I've also enjoyed the Maryland mud, ube, and (for my matcha lovers) the hojicha.

“One of my favorite places to get sushi. They have a good special for two or three roles and then miso soup. The waitress recognizes us and brings stuff we always get without us even having to ask. “A 5 star casual dining environment!

We found ourselves in the area around lunch and decided to stop in at the Reckless Shepard. I’ve heard several people refer it but hadn’t gone myself until now. For casual dining, this spot is great. Spacious and airy, it boasts several long high tops, two seater high tops for a more intimate feel, bar seating and an area for a private party.
There is a stage with ample lighting to make any night of the week; the best night. Multiple projectors spanned the room with a soft glow coming from the big distillery room. The ambience was really cool. We certainly appreciated the 90’s nostalgic playlist of music videos playing just loud enough to know your songs but continue your conversation.

We ordered a pizza, fries, wings, latkes, and a Cobb salad to go with our margarita, hazy IPA, and blue motorcycle. Everything was fresh and hot and savory. The drinks were delicious and well portioned! You scan for the menu and add your items so we only experienced the server when food was brought out but he was super nice still.
I loved the sauce on the pizza, light and tomatoey and savory as well!

The bathrooms were large and clean and the parking was ample for a Friday. We would certainly consider hosting an event or celebration here!“

Payment is now via a portable card reader at the table, I don't care for having someone stand there and wait for you to choose a tip and sign the receipt. It's unpleasant having someone watch while you feel compelled to rush so you don't take time away from other customers. The food just seemed off that night, my tomato broth and my wife's mushroom broth both seemed off and lacking of the flavor we remember, also just remembered also we were never asked if we wanted more broth. Seems we'd have to ask for that via the tablet in lieu of a server. Broccoli and corn seemed fine, while the fish, shrimp, squid, firm tofu, and lobster balls seemed to be of lesser quality of poorer taste. The app on the tablet used to order has been changed. “We were on our way back to MA from a week in NC and googled Italian restaurants near us- being outside of Boston, Italian food is a staple for us. The food here was amazing- the service was outstanding and the “first time” dessert delicious! “My daughter and I decided at the last moment on a Thursday evening to eat at PF Chang's. There was a major concert that evening nearby, so we were pleased to get a quick reservation. ““When you are here, you are family”, the old logo retired in 2012. As I entered the restaurant I was told to follow the hostess, an older person that seemed stressed out, and they sat us by the sunny window (4:00 pm). I quickly asked if we could sit in a booth where then sun was not in our eyes. The hostess quickly moved the napkins to the table that was not a window but was not a booth either, then walked off. In my mind I’m thinking, it’s okay, at least the sun is not in my face anymore. I asked someone if they had the never ending pasta deal. They sarcastically replied: “Well yeah, it just started Monday!” I just laughed. I’m thinking why are people so unhappy or stressed out here? I just asked a question. Just answer with a yes or a no please. When someone requests a different table it would be nice if the hostess politely asks, “where would you like to sit?” I was well aware that that logo was retired: Not being treated like family here lol..!! I noticed a family of four (two of them in their 80’s) was being asked to sit super far away from the entrance. The couple’s son asked if there was a closer table as his parents were having a hard time to get to the table using canes. Those are just minor things. Businesses that have politeness and friendliness usually stay in customer’s hearts. Remember that I am giving you a point of you of my experience on that Friday around 4 pm. I am not criticizing or giving this restaurant a hard time. I also want the reader to have this in mind and tell the hostess where the reader would like to sit. We ordered the never ending pasta with a protein. The food was great. The Shrimp Fritto Misto appetizer, the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, the Chicken and Gnocchi soup, and the garlic bread all were excellent. My waiter did forget to bring me my soup. After my second and final bowl of pasta I asked her if I could have my soup. Her response was that we had all ready had salad and that we could not get both. I responded that I never had salad or soup. Our waiter looked puzzled. I told her well did you write our order down? She immediately said: “oh yes, I’m sorry, I’ll bring it out immediately.” Like I said, I am not criticizing but do sympathize with the workers as it seems that management has these workers under lots of stress. There should be happiness among workers and that will convert to an amazing level of service and a great atmosphere for the best Italian meal. I chose not to complaint when management came out asking all of the tables if their food was hot and good. It shows that management wants to show good quality control. The hot meal is part of the experience. We chose coffee for our drinks. Our first coffee was warm and it quickly turned colder when we added the cold creamer. You tend to drink coffee faster when you drink cold coffee. When our waitress said I will get you more coffee and noticed we needed more creamer she said: “oh you like more cream… looks a like you drank creamer with coffee instead of coffee and creamer.” I have lots of patience and just smiled but I ask you: is that comment necessary? Whether it is a joke or not I believe a waitress should be on top of things to her best gratuity as possible. She still got 20% from us ($24 out of bill $112). I want you to know that while we ate we ordered a Large Pan Lasagna to go for like $65, good size for the price. The food was great! I will definitely come back soon as I loved the food here. I thank the unseen team members, like the cooks, that make this place a great place for a great meal. I encourage you to come to this Olive Garden in Colombia, Maryland and enjoy the great tastes this restaurant has to offer.
