“I’m from Alabama & wanted some soul food so I goggled soul food in the ESSEX area SOUL DELISHAUS appeared. I ordered 3 plates for me & other family members. Our food was delicious the customer service from Rita(the owner) was fantastic. I went back the following week & our food was delicious again. Whenever I’m in Maryland I will surely stop by your establishment.“

“I, along with four other friends went to this restaurant on Saturday 8/23/25 and both the food and service were excellent. Everyone we came in contact with was very polite, friendly and professional. I personally loved their corn bread muffins and asked if I could buy some to take back home. The young lady was very generous and I truly appreciated all that she did. The next time I'm in Baltimore, I definitely will be going there. The other ladies with me all felt the same way.“

“My daughter and I tried The HH BBQ for the first time a few weeks ago. The best tasting food we’ve had in a long time. I had the ribs and they did not disappoint!! The ribs were tender, moist and very flavorful. My daughter had a cheeseburger and she loved it! The price is affordable. We watch every week for the location near us!! Not only is the food delicious but the guys who serve are courteous, polite and always have a smile on their faces. ♥️“

“Bertha's Soul Food Bar & Grill hit my aunts South Carolina Soul and my South Bronx Soul at the same time as we traveled through Baltimore for a business meeting. Auntie saw the collard greens and they was cut wide and her Bronx side eye made her look suspicious. Her taste test brought out her smile. And the bust down went down. Her side of crispy fried chicken complemented her plate of Turkey Wings, collard greens, sweet potatoes and yellow rice. As I am doing this review 2 weeks later I am feeling like jumping on the 95 South on the 3.5 hour drive to get our same dishes. I had 2 pieces of Fried Catfish, mac & cheese, broccoli.
I didn't leave anything on my plates and it was the perfect meal that filled me for the drive back to NYC. Our entire meal was seasoned just right we requested to speak to the chef and seasoner to give our praise.
Bertha's Soul Food restaurant accommodated us and so we certainly did.

“I got the vegan jerk chicken, yams and kale (greens) and I am so obsessed. The chicken is a wonderful texture including the breading which was perfectly crispy. The greens are addictive and I wish I had 10 more portions. The yams are good, a bit too sweet for me but not an issue at all. I will definitely be ordering from here a bunch more! “Been a vegetarian since the mid seventies and we use to have to travel to Philly, New York and DC to find a high level of Vegan cuisine. Kai has brought an exceptionally superior Vegan cuisine to our area and even with the Baltimore metro area’s rise in Vegan restaurants Dodah’s Kitchen is clearly one of the best, and absolutely should be the restaurant on everyone’s “bucket” list. Meet Kai, talk with her and one will soon realize that Dodah’s is a literal extension, an aspect of her being. She is meticulous and one of the best definitions: (taking, showing, or involving great care and effort) Synonyms for meticulous: careful, conscientious, fussy, loving, painstaking, scrupulous, and to me, this reminds me of Mama in the kitchen !! and with that, we don’t even have to talk about the food.“
