The Lanes Fort Meade Cafe • $
2788 MacArthur Rd #2788, Fort Meade

“Very nice 36-lane bowling alley located on Ft. Meade, MD. This bowling alley has to be over 50-years old ... ohh my, am I really that old that I remember how long I've been in this area of Maryland....Anyway, the lanes are decent, all the equipment is up to date, the balls are decent, and the overall facility is clean.Customer service is great. Our group had a special needs child and they were very accommodating with a ball ramp, rails, etc...The food/grill area is still working in a COVID-closed dining condition meaning it's order and pick-up. The dining area is closed off. The night we were bowling there was only one person working this area and they were backed-up, the entire time. Food was decent.A good, fun, family place to visit.“

“I recently visited My Kabul with family and some friends. Having been to most Afghan restaurants in the DMV and being Afghan myself I can say that the food was average. We ordered mantu and spinach for appetizers. Mantu has a good taste, but barely any yogurt sauce on them. The spinach lacked salt and not as flavorful as other restaurants. The kebabs were juicy, however lacking salt. The rice was good as well. Overall food needs improvement and salt please!!The service was great, our waiter was kind and hospitable. The atmosphere was very welcoming and homey. I enjoyed the dining table and chair setup as if we were at someone’s house.Overall, I wouldn’t drive out of my way to come here, but I might stop by if I’m in the area.“

“We ordered carryout and bought the shrimp with crab meat and grits. It was seasoned extremely well and hands down some of the best grits ever. The honey French toast was extremely good. The scrambled eggs were bland andThe bacon was OK. The seafood salad was also seasoned well.I am taking one star off because the portion sizes were SMALL. For $26.99 we expected a larger amount for the grits. Instead we received a sm-iny bowl of grits that was more like an appetizer. We could have gotten two large size bowls from elsewhere for that price as we've done before. The shrimp salad portion was small too. Even the amount of chips included were like 1/2 cup. The French toast was average size, and not big and fluffy like some other places. Would we spend $70+ here again for the portions we received? I doubt it.“

“We love this place, we started coming since they opened, we used to go to café EZ 1 in Ellicott City, but we like this one better as has more space and more tables. All servers, and personnel are polite, always with good vibe. Food is great, they have a lot of options available. We like to come for Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch. But this place has all day Breakfast options. So, if you are like me, you can enjoy a great selection of pancakes at noon ?.The only thing we don't like much are the prices, but everything is expensive nowadays, right? So, I don't blame this place for rising their prices as food is 98% of the times delicious. Coffee is also great, kind of the same price as Starbucks :( but is good coffee. They have also smoothies which are also delicious and other "adult" drinks for a happy hour... Burgers, salads, wraps, all I've tried here has been if not delicious, great or good. We have never experienced any bad time.Just the heads-up, this place can be crowded, so expect some waiting time at lunch or around 9-10 for breakfast during weekends. ?Vegetarian options: Crepes, salads, etc. Vegan options as well.Parking: Plenty of parking“

“700 South was started many years ago when there were hardly any eateries or healthy choices for the many workers in the Linthicum/BWI area. The food has always been fresh and a good quality for the price. 700 South has continually maintained these attributes even today. Further, the employees, owners, and now their grown off-spring turned this into a very caring, quality business that strive for excellent service! This business thrives because of all these attributes from excellent food, great service, and fine detailed attention paid to each order! 700 South even has accolades for their food and has won cookoffs with their multiple prize-winning crab soup! Think what grandmom or mom cooked when you were little. So, if you haven't patroned this deli yet or placed a catering order, do yourself a favor and stop in and try their food. You won't regret it! Thank you 700 South for providing these healthy, quality options for workers for many, many years and for the excellent standards set that make customer order interactions and fulfillment a pleasure!Melenie - A Long time original customer who orders delivery for the job and take-out personally, quite often!!!!!!!!!!!Vegetarian options: They have a veggie sandwich and salad selections. They are always willing to try and accomodate, remove, and/or add items to selected menu listings as pre-specified.Dietary restrictions: One only has to ask about dietary restrictions and reach out to 700 South. For the most part they accommodate and offer alternative suggestions any time they have been contacted. Those receiving special dietary restricted meals have always been pleased with the provisions and I do run into this often with catering orders for work.Parking: Parking at prime lunch time can be slim, but one just has to circle around and maybe walk a tad further. It is a small place and the access road has reasonable off the main drag parking.“

“It is the first time I bought crabs from B & B. It has a high rating and I thought, why not try this place? I usually buy crabs from Crab Shack II in Gwynn Oak.Well, I have to say, the taste of the crab meat, exceeds my expectation. The crab meat has a tinge of spice in it. It is not hot, just perfect, to taste some spice in the meat. The comments I heard at the table, "crabs are meaty", "it taste so good".I placed the order for 4 dozen crab (2 dozen males and 2 dozen combo, small and medium) the night before . It rain all day the next day. B & B called me to confirm the order. I changed the time for pick up, added 15 minutes to the time. I picked up the crabs and it is steaming hot. Perfect! They definitely accommodate customers--even on flood watch. Why didn't I give them a 5* for service? They only sell by the dozen. So, if you are looking to buy crabs at half bushel or full bushel, look elsewhere. It has a decent size parking lot where you can park and wait for your order. I did like the fact that I was the only customer waiting for crabs. I came early because of weather. Though I can imagine what parking, looks like, in great weather.“

They have plenty of options for bread, cheese, and meat. The coffee and iced tea are always fresh and delicious. There's also several fridges with vitamin waters, Arizona teas, sodas, etc. And some racks of snacks. Ive also had their MD crab soup and it was incredible. Absolutely love this place“

Café Nordstrom Cafeteria • $$
10300 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Columbia - 10.18 miles

“Title: "Nordstrom Cafe: A Three-Day Culinary Journey Through a Hidden Gem" Introduction: Nordstrom Cafe may not be the first place that comes to mind for a remarkable dining experience, but after spending three consecutive days here, I can confidently say that it's a hidden gem worth discovering. Day 1 - Caesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp: My culinary adventure began with a classic Caesar salad, elevated by succulent grilled shrimp. The freshness of the lettuce, the creaminess of the dressing, and the perfectly grilled shrimp combined to create a delightful symphony of flavors. It was a refreshing start to my journey, setting high expectations for what was to come. Day 2 - Mushroom Ravioli with Parmesan Cream Sauce: On my second visit, I decided to explore the pasta offerings and was blown away by the mushroom ravioli. Nestled in a velvety parmesan cream sauce and adorned with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach, each bite was a revelation. The ravioli itself was tender, and the earthy flavors of mushrooms harmonized beautifully with the creamy sauce. It was a dish that would make any Italian nonna proud. Day 3 - Grilled Tuscan Salmon with Couscous and Mixed Vegetables: For my grand finale, I opted for the grilled Tuscan salmon. The fish was impeccably cooked, with a perfectly seared exterior and a tender, flaky interior. Paired with a bed of fluffy couscous and an array of vibrant mixed vegetables, it felt like a culinary trip to the Mediterranean. The flavors were fresh, and the portion was generous, leaving me fully satisfied. Conclusion: Nordstrom Cafe isn't just a place to grab a quick bite while shopping; it's a culinary destination waiting to be uncovered. With a diverse menu offering dishes like the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp, mushroom ravioli with parmesan cream sauce, and grilled Tuscan salmon with couscous and mixed vegetables, this cafe offers a hidden treasure trove of flavors. Three days in a row, I was treated to exceptional food, and each dish left an indelible mark on my taste buds. If you're seeking a hidden gem in the world of dining, Nordstrom Cafe should be on your list. Don't be surprised if, like me, you find yourself returning for more culinary adventures.“

Ordered the hacienda hash which was so tasty. Hubby got biscuit with turkey gravy and egg whites plus potatoes. He ate it all, he said it was fab. The portions are good size. “While I don't have breakfast frequently, being in a hotel without one included, I decided to look around for a good place for breakfast. Could have easily gone to a big chain, but I wanted to support some local. I happened to find this little diner on US 1. After getting turned around a couple times, I found this diner. The atmosphere is about what you expect for a small diner; nothing fancy but it works. Other than a couple of the stools needing their cushions replaced, nothing to complain about.Could have had scrapple again, but I went with something a little safer. I had the French toast with bacon and added two over-easy eggs to that. The French toast was nice and fluffy and the right amount of cinnamon and powdered sugar. The bacon was nice and crispy and not burned and the eggs had the delightfully runny yolk for a fried over-easy egg.The staff at the diner was very cheerful and friendly and were happy to be there. They do lunch, too, so if you're a little late for breakfast, they do sandwiches, too.If you're looking for a place that isn't fancy and does the basics just right, definitely give Elkridge Deli Cafe a visit.“

“For airport food this place is pretty good! If you have time to do a sit down restaurant this one is worth stopping by especially if you are in the A terminal, but you need to have about an hour of time to spare. I really liked my salad that I got. I did dressing on the side but I think that was a mistake and I should have just gotten the sauces as is. The salad and other veggies were very fresh. The chicken was perfectly crispy! My husband got one of their chicken sandwiches. I had a bite and it was delicious! I had to take a star off though because it took them a while to seat us even though there were open tables and when they finally did they sat us at a table that hadn't been wiped down yet. Overall though visiting their airport location made me want to visit the real location especially for brunch.“

“The location is tightly situated when it comes to parking, but the food and service make up for any inconvenience. The greeter/register attendants were gracious. Our server was so friendly and jovial that our interaction was quite memorable. Unfortunately, I'm horrible with names, so I can't give him the most deserving shout-out. I am a picky eater and hate all grenery that is usually garnishing your meal. Our server must have relayed super specific instructions for the chef because everything I don't like was in little tin cups to the side. I truly enjoyed my meal thanks to him. The restaurant quickly became crowded, but it was truly understandable as to why. Keep up the great job, First Watch Team. We thank you!!!“
