“Went here for my daughter’s birthday dinner because she loves korean food and it is just like what we have with my family get togethers. I had never been here before and didn’t know what to expect. The portions are huge and we shared everything with four people (two kids and two hungry pre-teens). We got the Kimchi Pa Jun, dukboki (no cheese or fish cakes), Chicken Ban Ban in Korean sauce, bulgogi (comes with a bowl of rice), mandu, and the spicy sushi combination (3 rolls). I couldn’t believe how large the portions were! Everything was so flavorful and definitely reminded me of eating with my extended family when we had large get togethers. In addition to our order, we also got banchans (sides) of kimchi, potato, green beans, bean sprouts, and tofu. The server (maybe owner?) was so sweet and nice and reminded me of my aunts. The location is not right on 40 like the other restaurants in this area, but it’s not far off. The location wasn’t super busy with people (Wednesday night), but they seem to do well with takeout orders. Will definitely be back for some traditional korean food!“

“We have been to Asian Palace several times and we've always enjoyed our visits.

Since the pandemic, business seems to be off and on a Saturday evening at about 7:00 p.m., Asian Palace deserve to be a good deal more busy than it actually was. No problem getting a table right away at all.

The Chinese entrees we ordered were plentiful tasty and reasonably priced. Service was super-prompt and solid. We did not get sushi on this visit and our overall bill was really quite reasonable particularly given the location.

Somehow I believe that if Asian Palace were to relocate to some place with better foot traffic or a better Street front, they would be appreciably busier.

“I had steamed monkfish.. There are no real good restaurants in ELLICOTT CITY, where I live now. There is no restaurant that is particularly good at steamed monkfish. However, I ate delicious monkfish for the first time in a while at Hyeban. I love braised monkfish, and for the first time in a long time, I ate it very deliciously. The portion is huge.. If two people come, you can really eat the monkfish to the fullest.. Above all, the service is really the best.. The servers are great. Very friendly.. The female server named EUNJEA was really friendly.. I went there for the first time and asked a lot of questions about the menu, but she responded very kindly and kindly.. I also like the spacious space.. The tables were close together. I like it because it doesn't exist.. The last thing I want to say is that the food at this place is not crazy delicious. “We stopped by for Thai food but noticed an abundance of Korean restaurants in the mall. After a quick Google Maps check, we chose this one—and it did not disappoint! The authenticity was evident, with all the staff being Korean and only a few speaking English.

The food was excellent for the price. We ordered the special combination for two, which was more than enough for three—my husband, teen son, and me. The highlight was the thick pork belly: it looked greasy at first, but once grilled and cut into bite-sized pieces, it was incredible. The fat rendered out, leaving the meat perfectly crispy and chewy.

The two men also shared a seafood pancake, while I was already satisfied with the small dishes—like the steamed egg and soup—that came with the meal.“

“Red Maple is more than a sushi place and COULD be a great place to hang out. I’ve been a patron since they’ve opened and might dine in more if the atmosphere was more inviting. Every time I’ve dined in, only about 20% to 30% of their tables are full.

FOOD - They have a nice variety of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai entrees in addition to sushi. Generous portions that are full of flavor, and not overly sauced.

SERVICE - Although the restaurant was far from full on a Thursday night at 6:30, we were rushed every step of the way; from drink orders, to bringing the check. Instead of a leisurely meal with great conversation, there were constant interruptions beyond polite attentiveness.

ATMOSPHERE - I would not describe this place as cozy, more of a 90s club vibe - dark interior with bright lights. The menus could use a refresh as several of the prices were crossed off and written in with some items crossed off because they are no longer available. The temperature when I was there a few days ago was uncomfortable. To be fair, it was 90 degrees out, but it felt like it was also 90 degrees in the restaurant, and humid, with no fans.“
