“I've ordered here now at least a dozen times if not more. I've ordered about a dozen different things on the menu from chicken or beef and broccoli to Szechuan chicken or beef to curry chicken. Food is always great with good portion and the chicken wings are some of the best I've had. They have this delicate crispy flakey batter they're fried in that's really good. Must order wings with every order. Also they have great dumplings! Large and meaty so another item that must be ordered every time. The lady is always nice but she is a jack of all trades to handling orders, cooking, taking phone and online orders so she can be busy at times. This is a carry out place so no seating. This has become my go to Chinese food place, I just wish they had another menu item like subs but even still. Can't go wrong with all they have, good stuff“
“I was craving American Chinese food (specifically crab rangoons) and Mr. K's Oriental Cafe, next to the Dutch Market, delivered (not literally...although they do deliver). Called in a takeout order and had a nice friendly chat with the person (I assume Mr. K) when I went to pickup. There's indoor seating but it was in the down time between lunch and dinner so there wasn't anyone seated there. Lovely pictures on the door of school activities that Mr. K's has helped out with. Their menu is online and they have Chinese, Thai, Korean, and pho. Crab Wontons: 6 to an order. Mostly cream cheese and very little crab. The sweet and sour sauce was a bit watery and packaged in its own little bag to make sure it didn't spill out of the little cup. I do appreciate how it was crispy and not greasy. Honey Walnut Shrimp: large/jumbo shrimp with good flavor and a nice bite despite being in the white sauce. Pineapple and black sesame toppings with a sliced orange arranged in the takeout container. The walnuts had a delicate sweetness to it which I assume was the honey. The chef specialties also come with rice. This dish left me wanting more of it (in a good way). Singapore Rice Noodles: chicken, shrimp, beef, and some vegetables with curry rice noodles. This one had some kind of pepper to help give it a bit of a kick which left a good flavor without burning my mouth. Wish I had know about this place sooner and am excited to come back and try other dishes.“
“This is my family’s go to place to order delivery from! Our must haves are the chick fried rice and the beef and broccoli! My new personal favorite is the Dan Dan noodles! The service has always been kind and fast. Great place for a quick bite to eat!“
“I have been using Happy Uncle for my Home delivery of Chinese cuisine for over a decade. It is always easy to order, and arrives very quickly. I pretty much have a standard order of steamed meat dumplings (my favorite), crispy beef, chicken in black bean sauce, and General Tso’s Chicken. Occasionally we will get chicken fried rice. The food is consistent and we love it. Ironically, we’ve never been to the restaurant! Always delivery. The delivery driver is always pleasant and professional. Always has a smile on his face.We are big fans of Happy Uncle. You should give it a try. Enjoy!Parking: Although this was delivery, the restaurant has a large parking lot“
“Being a native of Baltimore where we are known for our whole wing chicken boxes- this place is ONLY place that gives me that euphoria. They never disappoint and the wings are always a good size. The ladies(maybe mother/daughter) are always so polite and welcoming.“
“It's my first time trying this location and I live within walking distance but it never captured my attention. I ordered the Singapore rice noodles which is one of my favorite dishes and not all locations can capture the flavor of the curry. To my surprise they did a great job. I prefer my dish a bit more spicy but it was amazing. Did not take a photo because I was hungry but will return to try another dish and give an update soon.“
“Came in during the lunch rush on a weekend and it was (unsurprisingly) very busy. Despite there only being a 20 minute wait, one customer became unreasonably agitated and began yelling loudly at the staff for his long wait and repeatedly shouted at them to "just shut up and do their job", screaming over and over "I don't care, just shut up". The way the staff handled the entire situation was EXTREMELY professional; in particular the staff member serving and preparing his meal. She exercised clear patience, speaking calmly, and respectfully, to deescalating the situation, and continued to help serve other guests warmly. Overall, very impressed with the service and was very satisfied with my food.“
“I saw the latest review was 2 years old; not reflective of value today. We've had business lunches and family dinners here. The price and portions are good; The quality, variety, flavors are even better. It is not just my opinion. My father-in-law who is Chinese and picky eater says it too...“
“Think you can handle some spice? Want to eat something healthy? Haven’t needed to use Google Translate in the US before (mostly kidding, the server understood us just fine.)Bring at least 2 hungry friends and drive all the way out to Gaithersburg! We drove 20’ here from the hotel but for all the amazing Asian food we can eat in LA, they we don’t have this delicious fish soup. It is rare and special to experience totally new cuisine.Looks like we’d have to go to fly to Sichuan, Dallas, or Flushing to eat this elsewhere.Plentiful, free parking in the public lot. Small restaurant. No reservations.Their fresh watermelon juice perfectly complements the delicious, slightly sour, spicy fish soup/stew (they have regular & numbing…can only imagine how spicy “numbing” is…almost ordered it but worried that I might regret it in the morning…apologies that’s TMI.)ORDER their delicious milk mochi dessert.Cannot wait to eat here again next time we’re in DC/MD.Cheers & Happy Eating!DocMikeChiro“
“We were looking for a new restaurant to try and found Ji Bei Chuan Noodle House. We got the octopus celery salad, braised platter, assorted beef dry-mixed rice noodle, and supreme fish maw & chicken. There was a good amount of octopus in the octopus celery salad and it was tasty, but it needed some more acidity. The assorted beef dry-mixed rice noodle has the same meats as the braised meats dish, and the protein was really good. It was also a big amount of the price. I think this would be a good dish who are not familiar with Chinese cuisine, maybe with a different protein. The chicken and fish maw were also delicious, especially the chicken. Everything was well priced, with main dishes being from $13-16 each. There isn't much in the area of the restaurant though.“
