“So glad to find this local business to place an order with for a friend's bachelorette party! We went to a winery and I wanted to bring some desserts to share, but wanted it all individually wrapped (Covid-19 times call for a little twist on what you normally do, huh?). LaWann was awesome to work with and gave me suggestions on which desserts would work best as individuals. I ended up ordering red velvet mini bunt cakes (SO GOOD!) and heart shaped snickerdoodle cookies (I know they were good cause they were all gone by the time I went to get one!). They even had cute decorations to fit our winery bachelorette party! Keeping Strib'ble in mind for future birthdays & holidays!“

“Since the bakery no longer does personal cakes at Forestville, my mom placed an order here. She was very satisfied with the cake. She added extra decor to personalize it for my little sister birthday party. I believe she paid no more than $200 for this 3 tier, 3 flavor birthday cake. I picked it up at the time they previously discussed. It was boxed up and ready to go. I haven’t personally placed an order with them but my mom’s speaks very highly of them and the prices are always reasonable. The cake was good too.“

“It was my first time going to this place , the staff can try to be more welcoming and pleaseant and help they clients to order , I had to take my mask off to speak and let them know what i wanted and as i was ordering I felt like i was being rushed to order , the food was tasting but tge owner needs to change the way the food is charged , I was charge for each separate item this is not a place where you order yourself a complete meal for a full charge , the food was delicious but I would not go back and another turn off in the bakery area they had flies around the sweet bread .“

“Adorable little bakery tucked into an alleyway in Union Market. They're in the middle of the alley and impossible to spot (unless, as there often is, there's a line out the door), so it can feel a little sketchy to walk aimlessly through a random alleyway, but Bread Alley makes the walk super cute with a lovely string of arrows pointing you to their gorgeous black brick and wooden storefront.

They don't have a full-time cashier, so if you get to Bread Alley during one of their off-peak hours, you have to knock or ring the bell and wait for one of their bakers to come open the door for you. Once they do, you'll be welcomed into a cozy little shopping area with just a cash register, small pastry case (which just includes a few exemplary pastries -- the rest are in the back), and a wall of various types of bread. I didn't end up grabbing one of their breads, but I'll definitely have to make my way back for them; the harissa black sesame sourdough looked incredibly enticing, but I just, unfortunately, didn't have a need for a full loaf of bread at the time. However, I was in the mood for a sweet treat and decided to get a classic pain au chocolat. They don't have an indoor seating space, given their relatively barebones front-end, so I just ate my croissant as I walked home. It was a beautiful croissant, with a gorgeous lamination inside and nice glossy finish. It was a smidge too doughy for my taste, as I generally prefer really light and airy croissants, but it was still delicious.“

Sprinkles, Georgetown, and Heaven Sent Cupcakery Cupcakes exceeds these by leaps and bounds and they all have EXCELLECT Customer service. Oh and their cupcakes are half the price. Sugar Vault is true to its name. The frosting like many have complained has no flavor and measures about a third of a cup in ratio to the cupcake and is unbarerably sweet. The cupcake lacked moisture and was a bit dense. The red velvet did not have a red velvet flavor. Oh and you can't go in to see what you are buying. This is the only bakery that will not allow you to enter even in small numbers rotating thru. Buyer beware...price far exceeds the value. $7 cupcakes, $16 cinnamon roll (haven't yet tried the cinnamon roll). Bought 2 red velvet cupcakes taste tested one and threw the frosting and other cupcake out.“

Be sure to ask if there are any savory offerings in the back - I recently had a terrific mushroom and spinach tart that convinces me that I should just buy whatever savory offering is on deck.I can't wait till afternoon tea service is available. “Man oh man where do I begin. I'm a New Yorker but I spend some weekends in DC. I've had plenty of Call Your Mother bagels. I enjoy Bagels Etc. But Pop's just does it right. The scrambled eggs are fluffy and plentiful. The bacon is perfectly cooked and generously stacked. The pesto cream cheese is a delicious and unique add to any savory sandwich. The brown sugar cinnamon cream cheese (?) turns a plain bagel into a decadent mid-day treat. The bagels are a little less dense than a New York bagel, but still thicker than a Cali bagel. I could just go on and on but I went to this place with no expectations and left completely floored. I'm on a bus back to New York right now and I am thinking about how I will actually really miss their bacon egg and cheese with pesto. Anyways come here, spend money here, buy their merch, leave a tip, and have a great rest of your day.“

“This bakery is located in the historic Eastern market on Capitol Hill, Washington, DC. My favorite thing is the molasses ginger cookie, with no icing and I like them gooey in the middle. I asked for them that way and I get them that way. Their snickerdoodles are also good and they have a nice selection of breads. Not everything is baked on premise. The owner and the other workers are all very nice people.

Parking: They are very busy on the weekends. The whole market and parking gets more difficult but come on Tuesday through Friday and you'll have your pic of parking spaces. Everything is almost everything is metered.
