“I am sure Korean food is the best when tasted in Korea. That's why I'm not a big fan of Korean restaurants abroad. However this one, Rice Bar in DC satisfied me for real. 다만 제 느낌에 1회용 숫가락이 좀더 크면 좋겠고 젓가락에 일본어 적힌 점이 아쉽.. 그래도 또 들리고 싶네요.“

“My friend and I had the most wonderful time dining at Shia in December (extremely late review, I know...). Every dish was deliciously curated and it was an unforgettable night of exceptional cuisine. My abalone did have some small sandy grits in it which was disappointing, but the juk was so delicious and well-balanced that it did not detract too much from the overall enjoyment of the dish. The cold app (pine nut, doondubu & apple juk, Maryland crab, Jeju tangerine vinegar) and dessert (nurungji rice, laver, persimmon, boricha ice cream) were my favorites. The beverage pairing was also perfect. Chef Lee was very personable and I appreciated his thoughtful explanation of the dishes. The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to make the evening a delightful experience. Highly recommend!“

“oh my goodness. Everything, the freshest seafood I've seen in just about ever, delicious broths, huge portions, great presentation. My first hot pot experience and I will be back, a lot of times. Met the owner, and he was wonderful too. I highly suggest supporting this tasty, and fresh establishment“

“The food is good, but I’m gonna have to remove stars because of the customer service. 😕 When I first entered, I wasn’t greeted. The associate just stared at me, as if to say “I don’t have all day. Are you gonna order anything?” She had the most stony expression… It was only my second time here, so I was quite sure I had not had any negative encounters with anyone. I was trying to get suggestions and ask questions about certain things, but every time I asked a question about something, the server just dumped it in the bowl. He never answered the question. When I got to the cashier, I apologized, because I wondered if I had done something wrong. But he just referred to me as “diva,” and tried to assure me that nothing was wrong. I told him I didn’t appreciate being called a diva. I just don’t like being treated like I’m a problem when I haven’t done anything. I gave two stars for service, because my first experience was so amazing! I don’t know what happened.“

“The line at chipotle nearby was so long at lunch I decided to give this a try and I’m glad I did. I asked the staff for their help in building a bowl since it was my first time and ended up with a delicious chicken bowl with half rice/half veggie base. Yum! Lots of great flavor and love the sauces on top too!“

“The food here was absolutely delicious! I literally want to drive the 5 hours back to DC just to get more. The lady that took my order was super cute and sweet and answered all of our questions. I didn't even get a picture of my food because it looked and smelled so good and I just dug right in! They do have a couple of stools at a little bar area, but it is mostly a takeout place.“

“I really love this place. Since recently moving from Korea to the U.S., I find myself coming here whenever I crave Korean fried chicken. This is the only place that truly captures the taste of the chicken I used to enjoy back home. I once tried the BBQ branch in Greenbelt, but I was really disappointed—it didn’t taste anything like what I remember.
Whenever I feel homesick, I come here for chicken. The breading is perfectly crispy without being too thick, and the meat is juicy and fried to perfection. It's the kind of flavor that lights up a bulb in my head and brings me right back to Korea.“

“I just had the best chicken wings in Washington DC. While driving through the city, I noticed this small Korean restaurant on 400 Florida Ave NW. People were coming in and out. I continued driving because I had to meet with one of my friends a bit further from this restaurant. Then I goggled the restaurant’s name and found great reviews. Gave it a try…and have no regrets. I placed my order through their website. It was easy and simple. My order included a combo of spicy honey garlic wings, and drumsticks. Also, I ordered onion rings. They were cooked to perfection - all tasty, crispy and flavorful. I’m glad I found a new spot for my chicken wings in DC. One hundred percent recommended. Don’t forget to tip the hard working people at this restaurant!“

“Incredible service!! My pickup order encountered a minor delay, and the staff informed me they were comping my order before I had even noticed the wait. I told them they didn’t need to do that, as I wasn’t in any rush, and the staff replied “We hold ourselves to a high standard here” - This high standard of care is also evidenced by the excellent quality of their food.“

“I brought my elder parents and family here for dinner with about seven people. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and the service as well. I appreciate that they use stone balls for bimbimbop! The food was both spicy and flavorful, And we will head back next time we're in town.“

The price is a little high due to rent and food costs I assume. but it’s convenient between appointments.“

“The first thing I will say about this restaurant is that I had previously gone to the bakery next door and didn't even know there was something here. The other businesses in this mall have their signs in large font on the top of the building but this place only has a small sign above the door. I only found out about this place via a friend's recommendation.
As for the food, my favorite was the Ja Jang Myun. I have only had it a few times before but this place definitely was the best. I also liked the seafood pancake a lot. I would definitely order these again and recommend.
The Japchae noodles and Bibimbap were good but I think I have had better ones at other places. But these dishes at other places seemed to be noticeably sweeter so maybe here is healthier, who knows. I think the the prices were still reasonable with the portion for the japchae being especially large. Finally, I wasn't a big fan of the banchan appetizers. The kimchi was below average in my opinion and also not much variety. I did like the 2 radish appetizers though.
Although this place had some standout dishes, I think it was not my favorite Korean restaurant in terms of taste. But the prices for the portion seemed better than others in the area so I think we got good value for the price.“

“Another week back in the “rock” decided to get some jjajang myun on the fourth. Unfortunately, although it normally is open until later. Wang closed just as I pulled up with another couple at around 4 pm. Saw that this was the closest Korean place open and took a chance. Very homey feel, awesome waitstaff, hard working diligent. Kept my expectations low, however, not to be disappointed. I ordered only two dishes instead of my usually go to three or if really hungry, four dishes. Food came out quick, customers sitting at the adjacent table made great recommendations. Wolfing down my food as usual, Yooooo, the 떡볶이 was fire!!!! Very 쫄깃쫄깃해. And, the Chick Neng’s was really good , too. Positive note, I 우연히 bumped into the awesome associate pastor of Maryland central and his fam. What a blessing! 그럼 안녕히 계세요 마라나타! 🙏“

“This was my first experience with Korean food and it did not disappoint. Everything was freshly made by the mother and son who own and operate the restaurant. The beef dumplings were melt in your mouth delicious and fresh. The chicken with sweet onions I could eat every day. The portions are large... definitely enough for a meal or two the next day. The overall experience was fantastic.“
