“Bantam King is my go-to spot for a great meal when in downtown DC. I lived right by here for 2 years, and every time I went to Bantam King, I had a fantastic meal.I've eaten a ton of fried chicken in my life all over the US, and a decent amount across DC. I can absolutely say that their fried chicken platter is some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. I've also had the chicken ramen. Both my wife, who is a huge ramen lover, and I think it's fantastic.I also enjoy the mint sweet tea, and the desserts are really good as well. As it goes, chicken restaurants are usually overhyped by people who don’t know how to cook and/or have inferior palate. We have witnessed this many times: Chick Fila, for example.The chicken dishes are not bad considering that it is a chain. But the piri piri sauces they serve are sub par. All flavors taste the same. They are not even as good as the sauce you can pick up from the streets in Lisbon. They need to step up the game and bring the real piri piri sauce and get rid of those bland, uninspired ones.“

We paid extra .50 cents for each lettuce on each butger and got only one burger had lettuce. I also asked for Rooster sauce and honey mustard but instead received 6 honey mustard sauces. “I visited Chicken + Whiskey for the first time recently after hearing great things about it for years. I don't know why it's taken me this long to visit. The 14th St location has a fast casual chicken spot in the front and a "hidden" whiskey bar in the back, behind a commercial freezer door. I visited for happy hour on a Friday at 5 PM and we were the first people there. We enjoyed the cocktails and food, especially with the happy hour discount. Happy hour runs Mon-Fri, 5-7 PM and includes $2 off all beers and arepas, $3 off all cocktails and sanguiches/wraps, $9 pisco punch, and $15 beer + wings combo. We had the Pisco Punch, Squash It, and Sweater Weather cocktails which were all tasty and $9/$10 on happy hour. We got the wings and beer combo and the Borracho Wrap, recommended by the bartender. The wings were good if a little dry, and actually came with all 3 sauces on the side. The wrap ($10.25 on HH) was excellent, the perfect balance of textures and flavors. Very impressed. Service was quick and friendly. Overall, we had good experience, but there are a couple opportunities to improve. The cocktails were clearly fall cocktails and out of season now that it's April. The beer + wings combo was a bit disappointing because it was only for the Tecate beer (not any beer). The 3.75% surcharge is also unwelcome. Finally, for a first timer, the food/drinks situation was a little confusing. Before visiting, we thought we would be able to order from the full menu at the back bar, but it actually has a limited food menu. Then, the door to the bar has a sign saying you can't take food and drinks back and forth between the front chicken shop and back bar, which gave us pause. The happy hour menu mentions a discount on "sanguiches" but the main drinks/food menu doesn't use this term. And while the menu design is very stylish, it's also very busy and a little hard to fully read and parse.“

As someone unfamiliar with this type of food, I had no idea what to expect, but let me tell you, the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Chicken Kati Rolls. The chicken was bursting with flavor. The recommended side of spicy sauce added an extra kick that elevated the overall experience. To complement the rolls, we also ordered fries. They were perfectly cooked and paired exceptionally well with a mayo dip. Adding to the positive experience was the seamless pick-up process. You would not expect delicious Indian cuisine from a chicken and waffle take out, but boy is it good. Love the chicken Biryani and their whole wings. I liked the spicy kick of the Nashville sandwich that I may attempt the next spicy level. The mild honey butter sandwich is great for people who cannot handle spicy food. The rooster sauce is a free add-on on the side that was good as well. Tip: it may be a little messy so grab napkins.Tables: there are plentiful tables that were clean. The facility workers come around to tidy up the area, but don’t forget to clean up after yourself as well.Restrooms: clean public restroom with water fountains located right outside.Wheelchair accessibility: Push open doors that actually work. The ice machine was broken, but the owner or manager mentioned going next door to accommodate us. Needless to say, we'll be back to try other selections.“
“This is hands-down, the best Silvestre location in my opinion. I always call and order my food and it's always ready for pick up when I go. The service is phenomenal and so is the food. My go to order is a steak taco bowl. The steak is always very tender and well seasoned. The taco bowl is always overflowing and the amount of steak that you get for the price is amazing. Both the green and orange sauces, put all of the dishes over the top. I've also had their pupusa and tamales. I love a good pupusa and the curdito that comes with it is so fresh. “The first location to open up in Maryland, had a rough opening weekend back in the first year when it initially opened, but things definitely have improved since then. I got the following: The new Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Bacon and Cheese, Side of Jollibee Spaghetti, Yumburger With Cheese, Ube Pie Dessert Their chicken sandwiches are always a great way of taking the flavor from the Chickenjoy and putting it in a sandwich. Nice juicy and tender breast of chicken, nicely fried with their crispy exterior and savory seasonings, plus the addition of mayo and their amazing bun, it's delicious! Plus the addition of bacon and cheese in this item can only help make it better. The Yumburger with Cheese is a guilty pleasure of mine, I always love the flavors of the sauce and the softness of the bun + meat patty. Their meat patty isn't like other traditional fast food burgers, it's prepared in a different way and the meat is more tender and condensed, giving it a different texture. I just wish the solo Yumburger wasn't so pricey for how small of a sandwich it is. Lastly, the Ube Pie Dessert, as with all of their pies, was fantastic. Deliciously sweet ube filling, nice crispy and flakey pie crust, it's a great combination. Overall I love the flavors of Jollibee every time I come here, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but as it's a chain there isn't much that could be done about that. Service is friendly and efficient with the long lunch rushes, and the restaurant ambiance is always cute and appealing with their Jollibee mascot statues and posters around the establishment!“
