“In recent years there seems to be a proliferation of small-plate Mediterranean restaurants. But Yayla remains as one of the best, reasonably priced originals in northern Virginia. There is a pleasing range of mezzes, salads, entrees hot and cold, flat breads, spreads, etc . I had a Yayla mule, 3 spreads, lemony rice soup and superb shrimp. Friends chose a range of other dishes. I can guarantee whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Everything is flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. “The gentleman at the counter had wonderful customer service. We paid for our food even brought it to the table, which was very nice. It felt like fine dining, he gave us a bit of conversation and seem like such a pleasant gentlemen. I enjoyed the food. It was amazing. I eat every drop and the baklava ice cream with everything took a friend for the first time. My friend said he enjoyed it, and we will definitely be back again. “I'll be honest, I'm a California food snob. I've struggled to find affordable, consistently delicious food in DC and miss spaces that are clearly family owned where the food is made with love. I have found that at Green Almond Pantry.

My partner and I have made a routine of going every weekend and every single thing we have tried has been fantastic. I remembered to take a picture of the foccacia after I had already quickly inhaled half. The breakfast sandwiches were to die for. Each frittata has been mouth watering. I'll try and remember to take some photos next time I go.

Not the quickest option as they carefully heat and create each dish, but you can grab a coffee or boba from the spot next door while you wait.“

“The shop is owned by a couple from Bulgaria. I had the bacon croissant sandwhich. But the “handheld” is actually a toasted croissant cut open with the food placed nicely on top.

The food was FRESH! The bacon was PERFECTLY cooked with a nice crunch (just like I like it).

I asked for no cheese on the sandwhich which made it dry, so I asked for jelly and it perfect.

I also had a oatmilk latte, they have a station where you can add more sweetner, so tha’s what I did and it turned out tasty.

I think this local business has quality food and if you’re wanting a balanced meal, I definitely recommend. I will be going back!“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“

“The new kid on the block is a great lunch spot with reasonably priced and delicious food. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich and spoke to the chef. He elevated this basic dish to really nice levels and there's a unique spice blend that you won't find anywhere else. This is a tough location for a business but hopefully they can survive.“

“I went by to the location in PG plaza Mall in Hyattsville when I first entered the establishment I waited a second since there was one person that was serving another customer, I was than greeted and asked what I would like. I ordered a lamb bowl and a chicken shawarma, paid for l my order then went home. When I had my bowl it was just like I ordered but when I saw the dismay of my fiancés face something appeared to be wrong. I looked at the wrap it appeared to be prepared sloppy , falling apart and runny from juices of the ingredients. He said he didn’t want it and I returned to the place to try to get a refund. To make the story short the manger of the store wasn’t of any help but staff did suggest me getting another sandwich. I reluctantly agreed despite my fiancé not wanting a sandwich because of presentation. The person who made my sandwich spoke in her native tounge with another staff and was nonchalant about the situation but Christain was eager to make things right.“

“We had a wonderful breakfast this morning! The Beirut Breakfast, the Rose Water Latte, and Shaksura were all fabulous and the staff was lovely, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!“

“Came for a tasting as part of Tasting Collective and was glad I did. This was truly a great experience. The 5 course tasting had 2 courses (1st & 4th) that needed to be altered as I'm a pescetarian therefore, don't eat duck. So in place of the duck paté, I was served figs and brie and in place of the duck breast I was served branzino. Each course was nicely paired with wine, again adding to this wonderful experience.

The fig and brie with the croutons was delicious, followed by the roasted pear with gouda, pecans and pomegranate sprinkles which was a delightful tasty plate. Who would think white chocolate and cauliflower purée would be delicious and pair beautifully with seared scallops? Clearly Chef Moore did and how right was he. That purée had folks at our table scraping to get all of it. The next course was a substitute dish and was beyond disappointing, especially compared to the other 3 courses. The branzino was BLAND, but the olives that were on the side were extra salty. I thought I was supposed to eat them together, but that didn't help. I couldn't even eat this course. The final course was a butterscotch pudding, a great way to end the meal/night.

Chef Moore was very welcoming. He answered questions and took pictures with the guests.

“The truck was clean the chopped cheese was absolutely delicious and Johnny had phenomenal service. The location has a nice little shaded bench area and you really can't go wrong at this good truck. I was sent by security at the air and space museum. They all raved about it so I had to check it out and I highly recommend!“
