“I've never had a bad meal or a bad time here. I've been here often and enjoy all the food. Jerk chicken is one of my favorite foods, and theirs is on point! The flavor is great, and it's tender and juicy. I got an order of plantains the other day, and they were honestly the best Ive had at a restaurant. I like my plantains a certain way, not cut too thick, not slimy, and a little crisp around the edges... they got it perfectly. Their veggie chunks and curry chickpeas are great, even for the non-vegans. Service is impeccable, and I've always been treated well, with prompt attention. Even when it's busy, the staff maintains great service. The dining area is clean and well decorated, and is great for a solo visit, group trip, or even to host/attend an event. I've done them all. The dining area also serves as a retail space with plenty of books, herbs, incense, etc. It's always a pleasure.“

“Marta manages to be both lively and cozy simultaneously in a rowhouse that previously housed Salt (one of my all time favorite upscale restaurants) We went for a friend's birthday, and all 3 courses were delicious, beautifully presented, inventive, and not the same old menu that you find everywhere. Very sweet wait staff was super attentive, educated about the food and wine and made great suggestions. Our original wait staff had an emergency and had to leave in the middle of service, but seamlessly another wait person stepped in to covered us. Kudos to the front of house team for handling with such skill and ease. But the food was definitely the star of the show. For me, the standout was the tuna cannoli. I'm not even sure I can do justice to this deliciousness with a crunchy outer "cannoli" shell with a slight hint of sweet surrounding a creamy center of tuna crudi with little dots of avocado cream. And all was covered with a pistachio "dust." The spicy meatballs were delectable nestled in a cloud of creamy spicy ricotta. And the Duck and Foie Gras Panzotti (little triangle ravioli) was creamy, delicious and the perfect combination of delicate tastes. And the Tiramisu Affogato ended the dinner on a delicious note! “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 Experience I went to Rye Street Tavern tonight for an early birthday dinner with friends and I honestly had such a great time. It felt nice doing something out of the norm on a Monday. The place is beautiful inside and I cannot wait to come back when the weather breaks so I can enjoy the outdoor vibes. The food was delicious overall, but there were two items I did not love. I am the type of customer who will just take it home and make it work. My friends kept encouraging me to send it back if I did not like it and even the waitress gently suggested the same. I kept saying no because I never complain at restaurants, but they talked me into it in the nicest way. The manager came over and was so kind and accommodating. He introduced himself, asked what was wrong, and even then I still kept saying nothing was wrong. I loved how hands-on he was as a manager, clearing plates and helping his team. It stood out to me. They ended up making me something a little custom and it was perfect. I wish I remembered my waitress’s name because she was great and truly delightful. From the atmosphere to the service, everything was wonderful. I highly recommend Rye Street Tavern and I am already looking forward to going back. It is a 10 out of 10 for me.“

“Pats is our go-to never lets us down dinner option. We've been eating there for 6 years now since we moved to the area and I've not ever ordered something I didn't like. Not to mention that they give huge portions which I think is commendable seeing as so many of the restaurants right now are making you pay more for less due to shrinkflation.

Like I said we love everything but their pasta is amazing my husbands favorite is the chicken parmesan and mine is a tie between the spaghetti and meatballs or the chicken burrito bowl. Oh and if you like delicious things go ahead and tack on one of those desserts lol.“

“I have been to topside before and really loved the ambience of the place. Decided to come back to bring my bf for his bday and I put it was a special occasion; however we canceled the reservation and just went to the bar for a couple drinks and dessert, but they still honored his birthday! “There are not enough stars in the sky to give this place. Talk about creating fantastic dishes they make such wonderful flavor combinations. They use fresh ingredients it’s very evident in the high quality of food that they provide. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and the vibes are indescribable. My waiter was Jimmy today I ordered the Halibut after I asked what it was 😂😂😂. He told me it was delicious and one of his favorite fish. The man was spot on it was absolutely amazing how every was seasoned and grilled to beyond perfection. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Chesapeake it was an absolute hit.I don’t know which one was better but I’d love to have a serving of either one again anytime. Oysters were perfect this place has quickly become a huge place of interest. We both look forward to returning and I will suggest this amazing food to anyone. What great food and a great time.“

“I just wanted to say what an awesome experience Barracudas and Billy provided for my family. We held a surprise 90th birthday party for my Mom there on Saturday and it was perfect. The food was delicious as usual and the service was phenomenal. Abby did a great job taking care of us. Big shout out to the kitchen staff and everyone else who assisted in making my Mom feel loved and appreciated. I live 2 hours from the restaurant, but I make it a point to stop in almost everytime for food and drinks. Everyone has their own opinion concerning the restaurant and staff. In 10 years I have never had a bad experience here or seen anything out of the ordinary reacting to the staff or ownership. I have seen intoxicated patrons but that's it. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a meal or a drink. You won't be disappointed.“

“21 whole years! That’s how long this place has been in business, I’ve been told. They weathered the pandemic and came out on the other side still able to provide affordable lunch options while still being fresh and high quality. Only just so happened that I came across this place on one of my walks! Main entry is off of Lombard right near the bus stop on the south side of 36 S Charles St. highly recommend the veggie powerhouse sandwhich!Big thank you to the woman who served me today- look forward to dining with yall again ✨“

“The server named Rain was the best server I ever had. Her personality was so fun and joyful.. She made sure that we were happy and that we had an amazing time. Her mock tails were delicious... Just the right amount of ginger and lime over that crushed ice.... mmmm We loved the food and it came just in time... The food was hot and tasteful... Prices were reasonable... Our server came back to check on us to make sure we were good. 5 stars.....Rain deserves a big raise.. Her service is worth it. She made the experience.. “I stayed at Hotel Indigo for a conference and decided to try Poets for dinner. I was honestly pleasantly surprised because hotel restaurants can be a gamble, but this one did not disappoint 😌✨. I ordered the Indigo Burger and it was delicious. Juicy, flavorful, and exactly what I needed after a long day.

The waitress was amazing. Super nice, very attentive, and patient with all our questions. She even gave us great recommendations, which is always a good sign. The service alone had me impressed.

I liked it so much that I came back a couple days later for breakfast. I ordered a simple plate with eggs, bacon, and potatoes, and let me tell you… those potatoes were everything 🥔😍. They had that perfect little crunch on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned like someone’s auntie was in the back pouring love into the skillet. They were so good I even recommended them to another potato lover.

Overall, Poets definitely exceeded my expectations. Great service, great food, and now I’m slightly obsessed with their potatoes 😂🔥.“
