Emerald City delivers on that. The service has always been dependable and the variety of what you can get is fairly wide considering this is a one-person operation. Tucked away in the basement, this place is practically the definition of hole-in-the-wall. Its good, satisfying food and extremely convenient.“

“I never thought I would have to ask for bacon on the club sub but the young man was rushing us through the line and never put the Bacon on at all. It’s a shame you spend your money and can’t get what you want. And then I don’t know if she was being smart but I asked for hots but I can’t eat this sandwich I asked for the hot spread that I normally her it’s so many hots on here the sandwich is ruined !! I wanted to try the cheesesteak because it looked good when I walked in and saw the man making it but this sandwich is horrible. I never have any problems out of the one in Whitemarsh, or Glenburnie where I work or Eastern Ave but I will not be returning to this location!!“

“Another great place in this shopping center. Went there on a Saturday, got there a half hour before the lunch rush. One person, probably the manager, working. He helped me with my order, suggested options and when I sat down to eat we had a great conversation. He's so good at helping people find low-priced options to save money. The cheesesteaks had the perfect portion of steak and the meat had a really good taste, seasoned well. The bacon cheese fries were phenomenal. “We got lunch here for the first time today. Wish we had tried Gilroy's Cafe sooner! I got a garden salad with grilled chicken and the boss got an italian cold cut. The food was excellent, as was the service! Brien is so personable and friendly. The location is also easy to get to with ample parking. When I pulled into the parking spot, I noticed a small vegetable garden right next to the entrance of the cafe, with beautiful ripe tomatoes on the vines. Sure enough the salad and the sub both had fresh tomatoes from that garden, and they were superb!

If I had one suggestion, it would be to get the website and Facebook pages up and running. I noticed some great specials on the chalkboard behind the counter. It would be great to be able to see the daily specials online before calling in our order!

“It's the only place that's open in my area 24/7 only half of the employees can understand what you are saying which does make it hard when trying to build my sandwich the way I want it but otherwise it's a good little place for a late night bite.
I saw others comments about the homeless people just ignore them and you will be fine they will not do anything because there is always a security guard that stands outside by them so they can't cause terrible

Vegetarian options: I think it is labeled what is and what isn't idk I eat real food sorry but I'm pretty sure I saw a little sign above what things where veg.

Parking: You can park next to the subway or on st.paul St. But on St.Paul you'll have to pay but I think the pay cuts off at a curtain time not sure I usually just walk there

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes there is a very easy to access wheelchair ramp it's kinda tight so idk if it'll fit no scooter type of chair but a basic roll n go would be fine“

“This is the best subway that I have ever been to. I’ve been going here for years and every single time it is fresh and the ladies who run the subway are amazing. I go to many different subways and they do not compare to this one. The meats are cut fresh the bread is fresh. The cookies are fresh and they are very friendly highly recommend.“

“Everything is fine here ***except*** this one bizarre thing:

They keep all the napkins behind the counter. They don't give you any with your food. If you ask for napkins, they will gladly tell you where they are, but they won't hand them out to you. The customer has to reach over/behind the service counter to retrieve napkins.

It's just bizarre. Who doesn't need one or two napkins with their sub?“

“Store manager was very understanding and accommodating. I had a meeting move up an hour and the website wouldn't let me edit my order. I drove in an hour early to see if he could help me out and have the order ready early and started on it right away.

“I work nearby here and I often stop in to get food after work. The employees are very quick which is nice after a long day of work. I occasionally eat there, they have a fireplace which is great when its cold outside! I generally get a coffee here too which is convenient in the mornings esp with their breakfast combo. The new footlong cookies are great too. Greatful for their attention to detail on the mobil orders I have always gotten very accurate orders. I only go to this location in baltimore“

“Neighborhood kids take away from the atmosphere, but they are too far to get much support. The food was good and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The store was clean and the youngsters were kept outside unless they bought something.“

“This is my favorite Subway in Baltimore. I just wish they were open later but I understand labor shortages/ safety of employees.Every time im there the employees seem to be in a genuine good mood and are always friendly. The manager (i think she is at least) is nice to her employees and patient with them when they don't know how to do something.They place is always clean and the line moves fast.“

“I don’t know why this place only has 3.8 stars, it was great! It only took maybe 10 minutes to get our food and the service was great. The person at the counter was very nice and respectful! The ambiance in the place was perfect and clean. The food was good - we got mozzarella sticks, a turkey club, and an Italian sub and it was about $27, which is good for the amount of food we got. And a lot of the reviews are old which makes me think that this restaurant has been there a long time which is really cool! They also have bulgogi which I will definitely be back to try.“
