“Just had a top notch dinner at Havana. And as someone who has to eat gluten free I was so impressed when the waiter brought out gluten free bread for me when he brought out bread for the table AND my own butter/spreads for it so there wasn’t cross contamination. Every dish we ate was amazing. Do not overlook the vegan option! My daughter (not vegan) thought it was one of the best meals she has eaten in years.“

“It was our first day in Bar Harbor and we chose Galyn’s for dinner. It was delicious. We sat on their front porch overlooking the harbor. The food was great and our waitress was so nice; very pleasant. We had the stuffed crab mushrooms, haddock sandwiches and blueberry crisp-a la mode for dessert. Yummy.“

if you are visiting Mount Desert Island and seeking a small, polished spot, consider The Red Sky Cafe in SW Harbor.
We visited for dinner on the last day of summer in 2026 and WHAT A TREAT.
The owner runs the front of the house and we were attended by (Mr.) Matija for the evening; we were in good hands.
The atmosphere, service and food and beverage stand tall with those with much tonier addresses.
You just feel you are in for a good evening when the craft coktails are sellar ... we enjoyed the Mint Martini and the Summertime. Following were fine versions of corn chowdah, a tomato and leek tart, a prime strip and in-house made tagliatelle with local ricotta and house-smoked salmon.
The owner allowed us to bring a special bottle for the occasion, with a corkage fee of course.
We are celebrating our 43rd anniversary with September in Maine. This will be the ONLY spot we visit twice for dinner.

“Hubby & I ended our wedding day with a trip to Beal’s to grab some lobster rolls & catch the sunset, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect end to the best day. Lobster rolls are the best we’ve had in Maine, blueberry cheesecake was amazing, staff was so kind and excited to have us there and we were seated at perfect, intimate indoor table with gorgeous views of the harbor. Went back the next day and had scallops & clams, and food was equally as amazing and fresh as night before. We LOVE Beal’s and will be visiting any time we make it back up to Maine!!“

“Day one. Lobster roll, clam chowder and a great cup of coffee. Everything freshly made and delicious. Came back everyday, for a week to try the morning sweets. The shop has very good quality retail items, presented without clutter. A lovely place where we will return to again. From Oregon.“

“We’ve been coming to this location for the past several years to celebrate our wedding anniversary and every single time we are in awe of how magical it is💕 Between the amazing staff who put thought that it’s our wedding anniversary, the romantic atmosphere, and the view, so beautiful. “I’m not usually a fan of ice cream. We tried a flour with honey and salt at this location and it was the best ice cream of my life. I went back two days in a row to check if that flavor was there, but it was out. My husband tried cookies and cream, And salted caramel. Everything was a hit. I wish they would open up a shop in New York.“

“Wicked awesome to find a restaurant that has great food, is reasonably priced (for Bar Harbor) and also caters to food allergies! I’ve recently come up with some food sensitivities and can no longer have gluten or dairy, and these guys acted like it was no big deal at all. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!“

“The staff was soooo kind and caring. They were definitely understaffed, which I understand because it was a week before they close for the season. Incredible service nonetheless and a great atmosphere with plenty of cool furnishing and decor to check out while you’re waiting. The nearby Seal Beach was a great spot too. This was a great option for us after seeing the line at the restaurant at Jordan Pond.“
